This was their safehouse. Their sanctuary. Their retreat.

Back when they were kids, the self dubbed Brat Pack went on their own space wandering hunt with Mara at the helm, teaching them how to instinctively astrogate, utilizing that knowledge to send probes out into the black.

What they found at the end of that Flamewind was nothing short of extraordinary.

It was a pre Gulag scientific outpost. Abandoned likely for any matter of reasons, but the bones for a secret hideaway were there. It was a massive cavern system that was large enough to allow freighters to fly in, docking along the circular landing pads that surrounded the main laboratories built into the very pillars of the cavern system itself.

They had barely begun to explore and clear areas, hundreds of years of dust and what have you have had the jungle and the elements wear down at certain areas. However for Micah, this was just the beginning.

Investigation of the cavern system would show a rather interesting looking section where slow moving lava would ooze out, making a natural work area full of obsidian and precious ores and gemstones that would line the wall.

It was a great place to craft a forge for someone keen on alchemical creations. Micah just didn't realize yet he wasn't the only one with the same interests.

There was a method to the madness, and when one dealt in trying to find a balance between what would be considered Sith Alchemy and Jal Shey Force Imbuement, there was a certain amount of ‘madness’ that goes with it. Micah had spent some time with his Uncle Dissero, a master alchemist above reproach, as well as in study with his father and his grandfather’s notes. ( at least the ones his father would allow him to research under supervision.) From that he had already crafted several trinkets, amulets, and even a songsteel sword.

There were other venues he was interested in pursuing. It wasn’t just metallurgy itself, although he was no master craftsman, but his passion went beyond just that. The Talith spent his time crafting items that would benefit those he cared about as much as himself. This was evident with the Covenant Ring, the hilts he alchemized, as much as the Warden cloaks he had enhanced with Taozin leather.

Now it was time to kick it up a notch. Around him in his little makeshift shop area in one of the caverns, Micah had the Cater coat, Bodobaas gunbelt, the Terentaktek Force cuffs, and several other alchemical examples from as many others as he could find. This wasn’t going to be easy, and was going to take a bulk of his strength and energy to utilize his natural ability with psychometry.

But it was a start.

It was sooo not a good start.

Yeah, that thing that makes Terentatek leather fantastic against Force powers on it? Yeah, Micah learned quickly much to his frustration that this also meant that Psychometry was a bust. He would not be able to use the fastpass to learn Rave Merrill's secret to maintaining all of the natural abilities of the sithspawn's hide after death.

This meant it had to be dealt the hard way. The long way. The practice makes purpose way.

Yup. This was going to be a lonnng day, he'd muse to himself, running his hand through the thick mop of his hair. He had some practice with the Terentatek leather already, as he did with Taozin. However, the quality was not up to par to the extent Rave Merrill managed on the Cater coat.

He would sigh in frustration, his brow furrowing as he contemplated the next step. Well... he had a stack of Terentaktek hide from that last run with his cousin.

Time to start practicing.

Being on land of sorts that wasn't a planet and wasn't a ship was still weird, but the hideaway was their own. She'd lent a hand doing what she could for clean-up and improvements, but others were simply more leant to such tasks. She had spent her early life protected and learning, and only when the life of a teen hit was she given implicit permission to learn to protect herself, and then others when she expressed the need. It was ongoing, but her strengths were still in helping others help themselves. Working towards giving them tools they could use.

Except when they asked for metal arms. Not that manipulation of organic matter was within her grasp... yet, and living organic matter? A line to be wary of crossing, if ever. She had went for a jaunt through the caverns before and seen what there was to see - they all had - but she'd been going back on her own when she could get away, when not even Liam was looking, for reasons. Usually this was a solitary venture, until she came across someone else in the caverns one day, and realized that she'd noticed she hadn't seen him for a few hours, here and there, over the time since they'd taken residence of this place. This happened a few times, where she'd spy on him until she finally got up the nerve to expose her shared interest to him, once and for all. She knew he made things, but he didn't know about her... and that had to change eventually.

"So," she said, wandering into his midst, all casual-like in the quiet of this part of the caverns, "what're you up to, Micah?"

Well, she could venture a pretty good guess.
