Produced by the Droid Logistics Company Limited Partnership in the early 900s ABY, the CP/M-80 class was a modernized variant of the classic Razor Crest design, which borrowed heavily in terms of layout and design elements. Passengers and cargo were loaded through a large side door on the port side, which also functioned as a loading ramp. The wings rotated for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). The vessels were lightly armed, with two heavy laser cannons that were in a fixed forward firing position, limiting the field of fire to an area in front of the ship. The two things which distinguished the CP/M-80 were its maneuverability and exceptional shielding. However, while the Sasori P.L.O.T. shields provided effective deflector screens against many forms of energy, the system put a large resource demand on the ship. Heavy use of the shield system was known to cause system overloads or burn out.
The CP/M-80 had a diverse market, with application to military and law enforcement as a patrol ship, bounty hunters as a gunship, or cargo pilots as a versatile transport for passengers or material. The CP/M-80 was not mass produced as it was intended for use by organics, which was always a low priority for the Droid Cooperative. Nonetheless, the ships came with an exceptional warranty that included lifetime service for routine maintenance and recalls.

- Hard Target. The CP/M-80 class made use of Sasori P.L.O.T. technology, boosting strong deflector shields and a reinforced durasteel hull.
- High Maneuverability. The CP/M-80 was noted for its exceptional handling.
- Versatile. Cargo. Passengers. Troop carrier. Patrol ship. The CP/M-80 is an all-rounder with application for law enforcement, military, bounty hunters, and transport pilots.
- Fixed Forward Firing Position. Limited field of fire, with no armaments that were lateral or rear-facing.
- Running Hot. The shield generator had a large power demand, particularly if the unit was damaged and siphoning energy for its self-repair function. As a result, the unit could trigger an overload or burn out.
- Featherweight Division. This thing is barely larger than an X-Wing.
