"Some are born free, some are owned you are the latter." Every day in the mines this was the foreman's first words to all the slaves. Crasvadu like many of his species was born into Slavery, on the worst world Kessel. For nineteen years all Crasvadu knew was the life of a slave. His mother was sold early in his life, his father was all he knew of a parent. Drasdus father of Crasvadu was a cunning man for a slave working his way up the "ranks" of slavedom through much backstabbing. Carasvadu with his father's position learned how to read and write and much else, but soon as expected of one who rises through fear Drasdus was assassinated.
With the death of his father came to the voices and the true meaning of slavery, Crasvadu was tortured, his left lekku cutoff. After a short time in a cell, he was thrown in the mines, there for ten years he worked, pushing carts, working the drills, etc. Crasvadu faced many beatings by other slaves and the guards, this fed something within him using anger to withstand the beatings.
Escape was always on his mind and the voices soon lead the way to his escape. A strange man who introduced himself as Baron Narga had heard of his voices and was buying his freedom so long as he traveled with the baron.
