Credits of the Remnant are just as shiny

Busy was, for lack of a more suitable term, booming for the Praesitlyn Trade Company. The small company was already in multiple talks and their future looked secure, though there was always just that one extra step that could aid in pushing the company up, and credits from even the Imperial Remnant were more than welcomed to line the coffers of the company. Sitting quietly in the meeting room, a small smile crossed the young woman's lips as she stood up, pushing her seat back as she stretched in front of the large windows of the meeting room. Her hands coming to rest on her hips as her brown coat shifted slightly from her new stance. Her eyes gazed out across the warehouse which was now filled with employees and droids as they moved from land speeders and the couple of freighters that the company owned.

Smiling to herself, the reports on her datapad were showing that there would soon enough be the capital to purchase another small freighter, that alone was cause for her smile. Turning back to the datapad, she lifted it to see whom she was meeting with that day. Taking a breath and centering herself, she stepped towards the doors, the familiar sound of the squeak still there. She had sworn to get it fixed, yet continued to forget to have it done. Maybe it was a sign or rather a means to keep her head leveled and remember just exactly where the company began.

Quietly moving through the busy and noisy little warehouse, she held up the datapad before stopping in front of the two double doors. This time she was a bit more confident than she had been previous times as she pushed them open and stepped into the small lobby, looking upon her next meeting as she nodded softly. Pulling up the name on the datapad before she slipped it into the crook of her arm so it could rest against her elbow.

"Welcome to the Praesitlyn Trade Company. I am Miss Vixen, CEO and Owner, how can my company aid you?"

[ooc: Hope you don't mind but I'm going to use Sever in this instead of Mason.]

This place is flipping freaky. I couldn't help myself. Seriously, walking down the streets like I was made me want to jump out of my skin. Here an alien, there a freaky looking thing with tentacles. How in the world did the humans in the galaxy not freak out? I know I was sure having a hard time dealing with things. It was bad enough that there were a few aliens that had signed up to work with the Remnant. Most of those were humanoids, at least. These... these were just weird.

So when I walked into the building owned by the trade company I felt somewhat relieved. At least for the moment I had a bit of a reprieve from the craziness out on the street. Why on Earth the generals had picked me for this ridiculous assignment I don't know. Seemed like they would send someone with more experience in the galaxy. Then again, maybe they wanted me to have a fresh set of eyes on things, and my distrust and distaste for aliens would serve me well. They'd told us all the stories of the aliens that like to swindle you.

When they led me into the office I was prepared for the worst. Imagine my surprise when I found myself staring at the woman who owned the company. Miss Vixen really lived up to her name.

"Hello," I said as I walked over and took a seat across from her, more than eager to get off my feet for a moment. "Quick to business, I see. Not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing. You seem rather busy, so I would think a break would be in order."

I smiled across the way at her. Wasn't hard. She was a looker.

"My government is looking to buy arms and automated defenses. We've heard your name bandied about so I was asked to come and see what you have to offer."

Praesitlyn was different in terms of the many species that called it home, as well as coming and going on their own business. For the young woman that owned and operated Praesitlyn Trade Company, she had spent much of her life in the Outer Rim Territories and had become accustomed to the many species she ran across, even picking up a few of the languages. For the most part she was more focused on the company than finding herself freaked out by the species around her. Of course business was always on her mind and she was usually swift when it came to meetings, and for that point she was already beginning to think ahead of the next meeting while still in this current one.

Her hands moved over the datapad again as the young man was speaking about his government. Nodding her head momentarily and listening, she tapped down a few notes as to what they were looking for. When it came up that they needed arms and automated defenses she looked up from her notes before setting the datapad down on the table. Slowly she moved towards the large high backed chair at the head of the long table as she looked towards Sever.

"That would be dependent upon what you are looking for. Recently the Praesitlyn Trade Company has developed a new Personal Security Blaster, with trials set to finish soon, however we will only be able to produce limited numbers due to the company's small size."

"Yes, we had heard you were new to the industry. Granted my entire planet is no doubt still heavily behind you in technology."

It was the truth as far as I saw it. Even on this world with all of its disgusting alien life I could tell that Crina was backwards by comparison. Of course I was certain that my people were better off now that the Imperial Remnant had set up on the world, but that didn't change the fact that we were now under the control of an outside entity. Peace was better than centuries of bloody warfare, though. I can't fault the royal family for seeking another means to ending the war that they couldn't end themselves. I'd probably have done the same.

"We're willing to work with you in developing a line of weapons exclusive to us. Personal weapons, weapons for soldiers, automated. Whichever. You can consider me at your disposal for such things. We don't currently have an arms manufacturer running on Crina so you're our next bet, and since you are new, we thought you could benefit from the business."

While she listened carefully to the young man speaking, her attention was brought up by a soft knock on the door. Slipping out of her chair, she moved towards the door before opening it. A protocol droid moved into the room, holding a case as it sat it down on the table in front of Maya before excusing itself. She had listened to every word that the young man had said, her datapad recording so that she could listen back to the needs of him and his people to better serve the potential new customer.

"Exclusive weapons could potentially be dangerous, however the Praesitlyn Trade Company would be willing to endeavor on such a project provided that we retain rights to arm our own security forces in the future. Of course the first major orders would be shipped to you and your people. As for weapons, this is the first in the Praesitlyn Trade Company's Personal Defense Weapon line. The Personal Security Blaster."

Maya flipped the two small locks on the case and opened the top of the case. Turning it towards the young man to reveal the small handheld blaster that was sitting inside of the padded interior. The weapon fresh off the line and having just finished its testing as Maya returned to her seat, slipping back into the high back seat as she leaned forward slightly, resting her elbows on the table.

I couldn't help myself. When she got up and walked to the door I found my eyes trailing her until she was out of sight. I wasn't going to be so obvious as to turn my head and watch her. She wasn't out to get me or anything so I didn't have a reason to watch her every second. I think part of my fascination with her was that she was so vastly different from the humans of Crina. She was quite different from the humans that came over with the Empire as well. She was just different.

When she offered up the weapon for me to see, I took a good look at it. The design was strange, but I judged that it was supposed to be held tight to the shoulder to induce accuracy. Considering it was a personal security weapon, I had to imagine that it wasn't meant to kill.

"Stun weapon?"

If it was, I figured we could make an order for a handful of them, but that really wasn't why I was there. A start, but it wasn't going to be enough. More was needed.
