Credits

Some people arrive late to the game, and don't want to scroll back through thousands of threads to find the answer.

We don't have a credit system here at SWRP, and for the most part the number of credits someone has doesn't come into play unless they're making big Marketplace purchases. Then it's mostly left to the company's prerogative if they feel you'd be able to afford it. Individual Jedi for the most part wouldn't be running around with thousands of credits. Just keep in mind your character's situation, and don't worry about the numbers game :)

....Right, okay, you're that guy.

For those seeking an answer:

Credits are basically weightless, on this forum. There's no system for them, but people do try to keep realistic numbers. Most credits can be earned either by submitting things to the Factory and selling them via the Marketplace forum, or you can earn credits via role-play from other characters (or from actions you can take).

For example, you can steal from other players or you can try to go bounty hunting other players. You can perform jobs for other characters. You can make contracts with people. Or you can just make stuff in the Factory and sell to them. While getting credits from other players and/or factions is the quickest route to success, there's also nothing stopping you from just selling to NPCs and making money that way.

There's no rules on credits, so ideally you could say you're worth billions out the gate, but not very many people are going to buy off on that and some people might even report you just to see what an RPJ or an FJ has to say on the matter. View credits as an imaginary incentive to role-play with others that, when amassed, can open up even new opportunities for role-play.

That's really all they are.
