Vlad wasn't one for working with others however. The pay was quite large, and Pogo had promised him more for a little extra. However, Vlad wouldn't let that cloud his thoughts for the moment. He stood beside an armoured female and a robot. Vlad didn't know either of them, but hopefully they didn't know him either. He wasn't known for being fair or honourable or reliable. If at all possible, suicidal and enigmatic. Vlad had his hands in a fold behind his back. His head tilted to the side, silently listening to what they were doing. He had worked with Pogo before, put mostly alone.

He had even saved Pogo's life before from slavers. Vlad was known for his efficiency and his deadly ruthlessness. Vlad stood still, he had spoken at all throughout the entire briefing. He never talked, very little. He had been given that gift by being captured by trandoshan interrogators, they had an interesting ways of indirectly dissuading you from talking. Mostly by cutting off your tongue after you spat them leader in the face.

Yet again I found myself in the presence of @[member="Popo"] the Hutt. I did not express it, at least not to my knowledge, but given the past dealings with him I was not exactly happy to see him again. I still found myself looking around at any and all nearby computers and systems just to see....her. Regardless Popo had asked me here for my skills that were needed in some great mission of his. Apparently it was something great enough to request two others, one I could assume to be a bounty hunter or mercenary given his armor. My scanners took note of its deign and make along with any knowledge in my databanks of weaknesses from it, same was said for the other present. I had learned it best to be prepared for anything. While my attention with my optics would seem as if I did not pay attention to Popo explaining what was to be done, my sound radar took not of everything.

Jade held her helmet in her hand, listening to her assignment. She knew that this would be no walk in the park, but at least the target was criminal.

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
Popo stood - or sat, really. It was hard to tell with Hutts - in front of the group. The briefing was being held in a conference room aboard the Wheel and only the four of them were in attendance. The immense Hutt towered over them all and easily took up a huge chunk of the room. The creature's huge form was encased in thick, durasteel armor, traditional for Shell Hutts. Within the armor were built tiny microrepulsors designed to aid in Popo's movement. The upside of this was that he was very fast moving, for a Hutt, but at the cost that without his armor, he was immobile. This was normal to Shell Hutts. They wore their armor so often and so long that the only muscles they used were for eating and speaking which meant that, eventually, they grew larger than most of the other Hutt clans and could no longer move unaided.

The Wheel's owner looked over them all, his eyes blinking occasionally. After a few more tense moments of silence, the Hutt spoke.

"You're all here for a very specific reason," Popo said, eyeing those in attendance. He glanced over @[member="MAI"] and smiled internally. She was a droid. A very, very, very smart one and had helped him create the AI system that ran the Wheel for him. He suspected she was an AI herself, but had no way of knowing for sure and, quite honestly, didn't care either way. What he had noticed is that she had seemed very... involved in her work on the advanced, sentient program, which spoke volumes to the Hutt Crime Lord. "Take a seat, all of you, and we'll begin."

@[member="Popo"] didn't seem to remember much about Vlad. Vlad did not speak in turn or sit down, as he was unable to speak. However, he unfolded his arms and both loosely fell to his sides, his right hand clenching the hilt of a dagger at his waist. Uneasily resting his hand on the hilt, easing his body into a position where he could throw the dagger straight through the shell armour and through the neck of the hutt. Imagining the gruesome outcome repeatedly in his head, a smile appearing on his masked face. However he returned his attention to the situation at hand, his eyes narrowing as his attention focused in on a singular detail. The sloppy lips of the hutt, his massive lumbering body extended across a large part of the room, @[member="MAI"], @[member="Jade Night"] and himself cornered in a small pocket of the room.

Vlad shifted uncomfortably, he wanted to get down to the job. Then, get it over with, kill all associates and reap the benefits of a collective share of the credits. His plan had already been set in place, he was ready to do his job.

Following @[member="Popo"]'s instructions I sat down, still taking note of the other two who'd been brought in for whatever great plan or task the Hutt needed all of us for. A bounty hunter, a warrior and a droid. Obviously something involving stealth based combat and hacking abilities and a ruthless attitude. More and more possibilities came to mind as I awaited to hear him explain while calculations also equated the specs of what was the likelihood of the labor.

Jade sat quietly, hoping this questionably "legal" activity wouldn't make her loose more than necessary. She needed the money, but she needed a chance of returning home in the end as well.

A droid and a bounty hunter.
hum....
This would be interesting.

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
The Hutt said nothing as he waited for them to sit. Once the trio of individuals had taken a chair each, Popo activated the holoprojector set into the table. The holo depicted Nal Hutta for a moment before focusing in on one of the satellites in orbit above the planet. The image was fuzzy a moment, but refocused quickly into a rather large ship.

"The Blackguard," Popo stated evenly. "Owned and operated by one Captain Marquis Chavan. Captain Chavan is a known, independent pirate and has hit Cartel ships in the past. While piracy is an accepted practice within the Black Suns and the Cartel itself, a message must be sent to the good Captain."

Popo hit a button and a picture of the mustachioed man appeared next to his ship.

"This is Captain Chavan. The Cartel demands his death for damaging our profits," Popo said, his tone giving hints to what he thought of that particular decision. "I disagree. Humbled, perhaps broken, but not killed. He may prove useful in the future and having such leverage over him could prove useful. Your mission is not to kill the good Captain, but to break him. You will scuttle his ship and steal the one thing he holds dear: the Star Gem."

With this, both images were replaced by a holographic jewel. The gem was massive, the size of Popo's very head, and was a perfect orb. It was small wonder the Corusca Gem was Chavan's most precious and prized possession.

Popo looked over the three individuals once more. Vlad he remembered easily. The 'hero' that had 'saved' him from slavers. Technically, Popo had to admit that Vlad had more or less saved him from the slavers. Saved him from paying them what he owed. The slavers had demanded more money for their efforts than Popo had agreed to once they'd completed their job. The Shell Hutt had agreed, but once the majority of the slaves had been loaded into the transports, he had declined payment. That is, he'd had his hired guns try and mow down the greedy slavers and thereby maximize his own profits.

Unfortunately, the slavers were a bit more prepared than the Hutt had thought which led to an extended firefight between them and Popo's increasingly dwindling thugs. Fortunately, however, Popo had stumbled across Vlad after his last mercenary fell. A quick little chat and the release of a locked cell door and Vlad had, technically, saved Popo from the slavers. Whether Vlad knew the Hutt's whole story or not, Popo didn't know and didn't care. Right now, all that mattered to the Hutt was profit margins and getting what he wanted. Which was why Vlad, MAI, and Jade were here.

Punishing the pirate was a goal of his, true, but it was secondary to what the Hutt truly wanted: the Corusca Gem. Popo needed it for his little 'pet project' and he knew there was no other gem like it in the galaxy so far. The Hutt had to have it for his project to work. Anything less wouldn't do.

"Retrieval of the Star Gem is the primary objective for this mission," Popo continued after a moment. "Scuttling the Blackguard itself won't be enough to break Chavan and is, therefore, a secondary objective. Chavan must not be harmed in any permanent way. In fact, I would prefer if you avoided contact with the man entirely, but you have authorization to 'rough him up' a bit if he gets in your way," Popo looked hard at Vlad. The Hutt's eyes narrowed slightly. "No decapitations."

Hearing everything I took into account from the briefing I began to worry about the one known as @[member="Vlad Darrow"]. Given what @[member="Popo"] had said to him, and how it made it clear no great deal of damage was needed against him, it concerned me as to the reputation Darrow must have had to warrant such restrictions. I was not one for harming an organic unless in self-defense, never for pleasure or profit. But then I was not too sure of the one @[member="Jade Night"] either. As noble a type as she seemed there was a chance she had a more violent side to herself as much as Darrow. I brgan to process the idea of needing to handle both of them should they get out of line during the mission.

"I will download a smaller map of the Blackgaurd to air in our raid of the vaults for the star gem." I explained as I used my upload cord to begin processing.

@[member="Popo"] had ordered for no decapitations? What kind of show was he running here? A charity, however unwillingly. Vlad bowed lightly to show his attitude towards these orders. Not speaking in turn, as he had yet to purchase anything that would help him speak. He analyzed what the Hutt had said and had shown them. Recalling their last encounter, where he was saved and the following events lead to a similar saving of his saviour. Which, was a mouthful. But a true story none the less. Vlad eyed @[member="MAI"] and @Jade Knight through the HUD on his helmet. Taking note of what the robot had said, he checked his vitals. All and good, he was ready for a mission. He once again, folded his arms tight.

Jade set the blastsword on the table, switching the setting to stun. @[member="Vlad Darrow"] could gun the opponent down before she could land a blow, but if she did, the target would sleep soundly for a few hours. She slid her helmet on.

The Shell Hutt glanced at MAI and nodded once.

"That is acceptable," Popo stated simply before continuing. "You will infiltrate in two days. One day to get to Nal Hutta, one to prepare for boarding. You will be allowed onto the ship at 18:00 hours on the second day. He believes that the Cartel wishes to pay him off to leave our shipping alone. Let him believe so until the shuttle docks. Whether you attack immediately at that moment or play along for a time afterward, I care little."

With that, the Hutt shut off the holoprojector and looked at the trio before him.

"If there are no further questions, your ship leaves within the hour."

Vlad didn't speak, nor give motion to either of his companions. Turning on his heel he sharply and silently left through the two automatic doors to the building. His associates would likely be along soon, however they would more than likely slow him down. Me checked his blaster rifles, making sure they were primed. His slender build made him somewhat hard to see. However, this also made him fast, agile and sneaky. He was an assassin for hire. Not a team player; he didn't like this. Not one bit; however he was willing to play along. Credits were credits, and by no means dud Vlad have any intentions on missing out on his share. Or even possibly his team's share as well.
