How long had it really been since she'd set her eyes on him?

A slender, and now incredibly lean, firebrand of a woman leaned her body weight against the railing of the Prosperity Viewing Deck, her emerald gaze watching all the hustle and bustle of everyones everyday life -- time slowed for no one, it was always moving, always flowing.

Moving her hair behind her ears, the tightly wounded strands of muscle that the formed from the last few months of harsh training contracted and then relaxed. Thankfully, in large part to modern technology -- she no longer endured the frigid temperatures of Midvinter -- no longer needing heavy furs or clothing, or her own natural body core to keep her digits from freezing off... no, the temperature on the Prosperity was actually warm to her now. Wearing her usual attire, but stripped down to a double layered tank top -- Anneliese looked much the same... yet starkly different all at once.

Anneliese wondered on several things as she peered outwards, nervously biting her bottom lip, her hand coming up now to nibble on her thumb as she typically did when lost in her thoughts.

The last time she'd seen Roman, the two were in a bit of a tiff... well, lets back up and rephrase -- Anneliese had been in a bit of a tiff. Roman had left for several weeks after their incursion on the moon of Tython, the dark moon, Bogan. She had been furious, he'd failed to communicate to her where he'd gone, why he'd felt the need to leave... but in the end, like always -- after Anneliese nearly destroying a training Dojo... Roman managed to break through her molten exterior and inevitably, the two made up and but shortly after, bitter-sweetly departed from each other's presence.

It had been Annie's turn to leave, to wander, to seek... and seek she'd done. Leaving Roman for months now, granted, she'd lost track of the exact time... she went and sought out Thurion Heavenshield and under his watchful eye and tutelage, plunged and found new depths to her already fierce power. It wasn't just Thurion that pushed her mentally and physically harder than she ever had -- no, during her time away, she constantly reached deep down, and acted on her resolve to gain power, not out of lust for strength... but desire to protect those she loved... and the need to grow stronger for the darkness that continually grew on the horizons, threatening to swallow all she held dear.

Finally, the day came -- Anneliese was ready to return to the fold and to continue down her path as a Jedi.

Still leaned against the balcony of the Prosperity Viewing Deck, she took slow and measured breaths as she calmed herself -- why was she this anxious to see him? Looking down at the promise ring he'd given her, she smiled -- she wasn't nervous, she was excited beyond belief.

What new adventures had he partaken in? What new strength did he find? Was he just as excited to see her? Would he be indifferent in her presence?

Bringing both hands to the nape of her sternum, she cupped her hands together as she spoke softly.

"Bring him safely to me Ashla... bring him quickly."

Roman awoke with the familiar dull ache of routine settling in his bones. Another day on the Prosperity, another day of training, another day of classes blurring into a monotonous cycle. He'd found himself falling into a strange rhythm, punctuated only by the occasional mission with Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania or a rare social event. But even those interludes only distracted him briefly, a pale substitute for the vibrant presence that had been missing from his life. He went to sleep each night longing for her warmth, dreaming vivid landscapes of her training sessions with Thurion. He understood her need to grow, to find her own path, her need for the seclusion that Midvinter offered but his heart ached for her, a constant, dull throb beneath his ribs.

The dances, the festivals, the quiet evenings under the stars, all of those moments that were meant to be shared, felt empty with her absence. He felt like a shadow of his former self, his soul feeling like a piece was missing. He'd lost track of time too, the days folding in on themselves without the sunshine that she brought.

Shaking off the last vestiges of sleep, he swung his legs off the bed, the cool metal of the floor jolting him fully awake. This morning felt different, though. A strange feeling bubbled up from within, a subtle shift in the force, a feeling of anticipation he couldn't quite understand. He scanned his room, expecting a message, a disruption, something to explain the inexplicable change in his mood, but all was normal.

He quickly dressed in comfortable clothes, a routine movement done without thought, before stepping into the hallway. But before he could even take another step, an unseen force tugged at him, guiding him out of his room, down the hall. He found himself moving almost without thought, bare feet padding softly along the walkway. He moved at a brisk pace, hardly paying attention to the other crew going about their morning routine. Instinct propelled him forward as he moved through the corridors.

He reached the turn and his breath caught in his throat. A viewing deck opened up before him, and there, silhouetted against the early morning light, stood a figure he knew intimately. He stopped, his body tensing, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs, afraid to even breathe. Her back was to him, yet, he knew her. His Anneliese. It was her lean, strong frame, the familiar way she carried herself, the way his very soul recognized her. She appeared even stronger than before, an air of powerful grace radiated from her. It permeated the Force, reaching out to him, pulling him to her. It was as though she was a magnet guiding him to her. Still unsure of the reality in front of him, he dared another step closer and then another. He pinched his own leg, as his mind raced. This couldn't be an illusion, it had to be real... didn't it?

He knew she would come back, he always knew it, but the separation had felt like an eternity to him. Just seeing her silhouette made his heart flutter like the first time he had seen her in the gardens. He was sure she would always make her way back to him. He had waited and waited, and here she was, finally. He moved closer, the space between them shrinking.

Gathering what little nerve he had left, Roman called out, his voice a soft murmur, barely audible in the morning quiet. "Anneliese?" He had to see her eyes, he had to be sure it was her.

Her heart fluttered wildly when he spoke her name…but even before he spoke, she had felt his presence.

If the warm feeling one got from the rays of sun had a given form, it was him — his gentleness, his love. If joy had sustenance to it, if it was a tangible thing — it would be the love she felt for him. If safety was a refuge, it was found in his arms when he held her.

Turning around to face him, her emerald eyes locked with an absolute assurance, an air of calm surrounding her as she stared into the two orbs of sapphire that were like endless oceans in her mind. Surprise however, would take over her form as immediately she noted his change in appearance, her eyes now peering over his body as if making mental notes… his long crimson lockes of hair gone, now short… but it gave a mature and refined look — one that only drew her in further.

As she silently closed the gap between the two, her hands would extend and reach for his arms as they slowly traced up his form, once again remembering the lines that formed the map that was his body, the body that she was intimately familiar with. As her eyes lingered on her own hands which continually explored up to his neckline, both hands would run into his hair, now gently digging at the scarlet fibers until a large smile would creep upon her lips.

“Hmmm…”

Pulling him to her, their lips would meet without words being exchanged and the fervor that was behind the kiss would express the yearning she’d felt the entire time they had been separated from one another. For what felt like an eternity, now time stood still as the two shared their intimate moment.

The time she’d spent with Thurion only furthered her need to be near him — to deepen their connection. Thurion had told her several times to fully embrace what she felt, to fully commit, and fully trust. As she stood once again in the comfort of his embrace, she knew… she coukd never be without him again. They were two halves of one whole… and after all that had happened between Tython and their time apart — it just further affirmed to her just how entangled the two really were.

Pulling back from the kiss she’d pulled him into a soft giggle escaped her lips as she locked with his gaze once again, her breath slightly taken back.

“I’ve missed you Roman.”

Roman's heart leaped when Anneliese turned, her emerald eyes locking onto his with an intensity that stole his breath. He felt a foolish grin spread across his face, forgetting for a moment his unkempt hair and creased clothes. All he could see was her, vibrant, powerful, and undeniably his.

As she closed the distance, his senses went into overdrive. The air seemed to crackle with an energy that only existed when they were near. He reached out instinctively, his hands finding the familiar curve of her waist. When her fingers sifted through his newly short hair, a shiver ran down his spine, a sensation so potent, it was almost painful. It felt like coming home, like finally exhaling after holding his breath for far too long.

Her touch ignited a fire in his soul, a longing he had tried to bury. The galaxy faded away as she pulled him closer, their lips meeting in a kiss that was both desperate and tender. It wasn't a polite greeting, but a desperate reunion of two souls who had been adrift. The kiss was a language unto itself, a torrent of pent-up emotions: the loneliness, the longing, the overwhelming joy of finally being together again.

His arms tightened around her, pulling her in as close as humanly possible, as if trying to imprint her very essence into his being. It felt like a long drought had ended, and his body drank her in, desperate for the life-giving touch he had so sorely missed. Every fiber of his being was screaming her name, her presence a balm to the deep ache that had settled in his chest during their time apart.

When she pulled back, a soft giggle escaping her lips, his heart soared. "I haven't been the same without you." he declared, his voice thick with emotion, pulling her into a close embrace. He wanted to tell her everything at once, to bridge the gap of time with a flood of words, to explain how every day had felt like an eternity without her. But his thoughts were a tangled mess of emotions, and he could only hold her tight.

He kissed her forehead, letting his forehead rest against hers, finding solace in the familiar comfort of her presence, the scent of her skin. "I want to hear all about it," he murmured, finally managing to string a coherent sentence together, "You look... strong." He felt it, a new depth to her form, a sense of power that was both awe-inspiring and intoxicating. It was as if she had returned not only herself but with a new strength that drew him in even further.

The embrace was in any sense nothing short of a primal; an urgent desire, visceral and raw — a deep hunger causing a natural and euphoric response that seemed to heighten every sensation in her body. How long had she been stumbling through the desert? Yet here before her, holding her in his embrace was her oasis — an end to the aching that had gnawed at her since she’d left.

Buzzing, as Roman spoke to her, she simply let out another soft and satiated grunt and she locked gaze with him once more, trying to regain full control of her faculties.

“ Nor have I Roman…. And I’ll tell you everything. I am sorry it took so long… I really am — but thank you for your patience.”

Planting another small kiss on to his lips she tugged at his clothing, beckoning him to follow as she led the two towards a bench just out of the way, tucked in a private corner of the Viewing Deck.

Sitting down her hand came up and softly made its way back up his neckline, her eyebrow raising as her teeth flashed from the smile that formed on her lips.

“This is new, but I like it. Think I’ll have to get more acquainted with this new man in front of me a little later… if you understand my meaning.”

The flirtatious tone danced within her words as her fingers twirled what little hair she could play with.

Moving her hands down she folded them together as she sighed slightly.

“Not sure where to start… so I guess I can start from the beginning….

Midvinter was… spectacular. Part of me almost didn’t want to leave, but on several occasions he and I talked about us… and I knew I could never depart from you, never — where you are is my home.”

Pausing once again, a shy smile on her lips, her hand came up and moved her loose strands of hair, gently tucking them behind her ear.

“He…helped to strengthen my mind — by confronting the very things that the Nameless would take advantage of… for my sake, he thought as the enemy would and helped my crusade. We then moved on from the mental to the spiritual, and then finally to the physical. There’s a lot I could prattle on for hours about… but first things first… I have to say this before I loose my nerve….”

Turning to Roman, she held his hands as her chest began to ride and fall unevenly — the thought of what she was fixing to say allowing anxiety to creep into the door — but nevertheless, she recalled Thurion, and his advice… and so, staring deeply into his eyes, she spoke.

“Thurion made me see things differently… and I agree with he said to me; I want to embrace fully what’s in front of me, not run from it or wait because of preconceived notions that have been there since before we were born say otherwise. I know we are young, but Roman… a life apart from you means nothing. I would rather share my whole lifetime with you, than face it alone… never fully whole.”

Her cheeks were flushed as she spoke, her emerald gaze moist from the tears she fought back.

“On Bogan, being there showed me it doesn’t matter what age you are — death comes for all. It’s the same with love — true love, is meant to be. I’ve known since I first saw you, since before you knew who I was you were the one I was meant to be with… why wait until we’re older — no one else will ever hold this spot in my heart but you Roman. I have made my decision and that is I can’t wait… not years, but the sooner the better.”

Pausing, knowing she’d spoken a lot, she squeezed his hand.

“Please, say something…”

Roman's heart hammered against his ribs, a frantic drum solo against the quiet backdrop of the viewing deck. He followed Anneliese to the bench, his senses still reeling from the intensity of their reunion, the primal need to hold her close still a vibrant hum beneath his skin. Her playful teasing about his new look sent a blush creeping up his neck, his gaze dancing away as his pulse quickened. He was a man undone, and he didn't mind one bit.

As she spoke of Midvinter and Thurion, his hands instinctively reached for hers. They were warm and familiar, grounding him in the tumultuous sea of his emotions. He was genuinely happy that she had found guidance and strength with Thurion; it was indeed a trip that they should embark on together. The thought alone brought a wide, goofy grin to his face. He couldn't resist picturing the scene, them together in that new place, forging new memories.

But then, her tone shifted, growing more serious, and Roman felt a tremor of anticipation settle in his chest. He moved closer, his shoulder brushing hers, offering silent encouragement as she gathered her courage. He listened, captivated, to her words, his heart swelling with each admission. A slow, incredulous smile spread across his face as he finally understood where she was going with it all. Her vulnerability, her fierce certainty, was utterly breathtaking.

His arm instinctively went around her back, pulling her closer, the familiar warmth of her body against his a balm to his soul. A soft laugh escaped him as she prompted him to speak, the sound a mixture of disbelief and pure, unadulterated joy.

He turned to face her, his gaze locked with hers, his eyes brimming with the unspoken words that had always resided within him. "Anneliese," he began, his voice low and earnest, "there was never a doubt in my heart, not for a single moment, that we were meant to be. You were always it for me. You were always going to be mine and I, yours." His thumb gently caressed her cheek, his touch light as a feather. "It doesn't matter when, my love. If you want to commit to this for life now, or a year from now… tomorrow, or the next, it's always going to be a yes. The only thing that matters to me is you, and the fact I get to spend my life with you. It's not about time, it's about us."

He paused, taking a deep breath as a surge of emotion coursed through him. "And if you would have asked, I would have told you I was here at your beck and call, ready whenever you asked me to be. What do you want for our wedding? If you want a grand affair, with everyone we love present, amazing - I'll make it the most epic celebration to date. But if you prefer an intimate gathering, just us two, surrounded by the beauty of this galaxy, I'll give you the stars." He smiled, his eyes filled with a love that stretched beyond the confines of the viewing deck, beyond the boundaries of their world. "Just say the word, Anneliese, and I am yours, now, and forever."

Heat swelled within her chest and butterflies danced freely within her stomach as Roman gave a simple yet profound approval to her feelings, validating them as if they were more precious than the rarest metal one could covet . Deep within, she knew — he would give all he had to love her, protect her, to make her happy… but it wasn’t the things of life that made her happy; no — it was the memories, the secret meetings, the stolen kisses. It was the way he looked at her, the way he held her, kissed her and spoke to her… and only her.

It was everything. Worth more than all the riches in the world. He, his love, was her most cherished possession.

Fighting back tears of joy, a giggle escaped her lips as her hand came up to her eyes, delicately trying to keep herself composed as she wiped the tears away.

“I’m sorry, I just — I love you so much — and your all I could ever want.”

Her voice quivered as she spoke, her breathing uneven as she pictured the day in her mind. Walking down the aisle, Roman at the end waiting for her, taking her hand and the two starting a new adventure, one the would take their entire lifetime to navigate before reaching their final destination.

“ I want everyone we love to be there — all our friends, not even just that because they are our family. This is something to celebrate with the people we love the most… and…”

She paused as she bit her lip.

“Soon… however that looks.”

Squeezing his hand once more she spoke.

“I would like to get Master Nobles permission first — her blessing, means everything to me Roman. Would you meet with us later? I’m meant to be meeting with her in a while and I was going to… approach the subject.”

Letting out another loud, and infectious giggle escaping and ringing into the air, her teeth flashing in full view as her mind went to how she thought the conversation would go. Valery was, beyond caring, very protective of Anneliese but felt in her core she would be so happy for the two.

“My brave Roman facing the Grandmaster to ask for my hand in marriage — pretty tall order. Maybe you should just work those baby blues and that hair like you do?”

Playfully poking her elbow into his side she leaned against him.

“Tell me… tell me all that I missed while I was gone. Where did you go? What adventures did I not partake in?”

It was odd — to know you could spend a life with someone yet still now know about everything that happened to them in one’s absence. It was a continual process she thought inwardly, one of becoming known to each other, knowing the other — and constantly learning. It was about supporting each other in the low times, being with them in the valley so that when you both made it to the mountain top you could celebrate in shared success or even just in the others… always vicariously loving through the other.

It was a journey, it was about becoming one… one flesh, one mind — cleaving to each other. Few experienced such a blessing, even fewer experienced the true and raw oneness that would eventually happen from such a union.

Roman's heart swelled at Anneliese's words. He loved the way her eyes sparkled when she spoke of their future, a future he was now just as desperate to embrace. He gently reached up, holding her face between his hands, his thumbs softly wiping away the lingering tears that clung to her eyelashes. "There's nothing to be sorry about," he murmured, his gaze never leaving hers, "Not for feeling, not for loving." His touch was feather-light, reverent, as if she were the most precious thing he'd ever held.

And she was.

The image of Anneliese walking down the aisle towards him, her hand finding his, sent a thrill of anticipation through him. "We can start planning it as soon as possible, my love," he said, his voice thick with affection. "You dream it, and I'll do everything in my power to make it come true. If you want a grand hall, lined with roses, with every person we cherish present, then that is what you shall have. I will try to give you everything you have ever dreamed of."

Her mention of Valery, though, sent a slight tremor of nervousness through him. While he was confident in his feelings for Anneliese, the thought of seeking the Grandmaster's blessing was daunting. "I… I can meet with you both... yeah." he said, his voice regaining its usual confidence, "I wouldn't imagine Master Noble will have anything against it, I like to believe she is quite fond of me..." He took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure.

Anneliese's question about his time away made him pause. It had only been a few months, but he felt like a lifetime had passed. "It was… eventful," he began, thinking back on everything. "I found a Master after all this time — well, you know her, it's Cora," he said, a genuine smile spreading across his lips. "Her brother, Lysander, too, they've become almost like family. They have been… good to me. I've made some wonderful new friends, I cannot wait for you to meet them."

He looked at her, his blue eyes filled with sincerity. "I've grown, I think, in those few months, but… a part of me felt like it was always missing. I never want to be apart from you like that again. Whatever we face in the future, I want us to face it together. Side by side, always." He reached for her hand again, his fingers intertwining with hers, a silent promise passing between them. The journey ahead would be faced head-on, together, as one.

He never ceased to amaze her.

His kindness, his compassion and his thoughtfulness had no end. When she spoke, listened intently — when she cried he held her. When he touched her; by Ashla when he did… it was with the utmost care, as if somehow she was fragile, delicate — his fervent passion and desire left electricity everywhere his skin landed in contact with hers… and at times, it read enough to drive her mad.

Everything he did, he did it out of love, and as he promised her everything at their ceremony, she couldn’t help but to smile, but simply shake her head.

“All I want is you, and our friends there. We can have it out in the gardens, in tents, under the stars… but all I really need is you. It’s all that matters.”

She couldn’t help but to feel proud as he agreed to boldly go before Val and ask permission. She was the treasure he sought with his whole heart — and once again, she couldn’t help but to feel privileged.

Pride. Joy. Wonder.

She was more excited she thought, when she heard that Cora had accepted Roman as her Padawan. Roman was strong, and she knew that she would only help make him stronger, into the Jedi that he was meant to be.

Laughter, deep infectious laughter escaped her lips as she agreed with him. They had both missed a lot in each others absence, but the distance had made the heart grow so much fonder, and staring into his eyes, she spoke.

“Agreed, the goodbye is bittersweet… but the reunion is just so good. I’m proud of you Roman, you’ve grown so much and I’m so excited to see you excel under Cora. “

Roman's face lit up at Anneliese's words, his smile widening until it crinkled the corners of his eyes. "Tents, under the stars, with all our friends... It sounds like the most beautiful night imaginable," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. He could already picture it, the soft glow of starlight illuminating their faces as they exchanged their vows. His heart fluttered with anticipation. "I can't wait," he added, shaking his head slightly, a laugh bubbling up, "I really can't wait."

A swell of warmth filled his chest as she told him she was proud. "I'm glad you are," he said, his eyes sparkling with genuine joy. "It means the world to me. And I know Cora will be happy to see you again, I can't wait until we can all spend time together, laughing and making memories," He shifted a bit closer, his hand still intertwined with hers. "But you...you've changed too, my love," he said, his gaze moving over her features with a tender curiosity. "You're...stronger, more formidable. I can feel it." He couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for the woman she had become. "All that time with Thurion has definitely done you well, I'm so proud of you too."

Roman leaned in then, his gaze locking on her lips, the need for connection undeniable. He pressed a soft, lingering kiss to her mouth, a silent promise passing between them once more. When he pulled back he rested his forehead gently against hers, breathing in her sweet scent. His voice became a soft whisper as he pulled back, "Go see your Master. I'll be close by, if you need anything at all today then just call for me, and I'll be there." He smiled, his blue eyes filled with an unwavering adoration, "All my love is yours."
