Critique the Corellian (Part Deux)

So when Julius first hit Master last year or early this year, I put one of these up. I'd like to think he's changed quite a bit since then, and grown as a person/character. Maybe he hasn't. Maybe he has. But that's why I put these up periodically. To gauge that and get advice. What is good about this character? What is bad? What shouldn't and should change? And if you feel there are relevant overall critiques to me as a writer, fair game. Go right ahead!

And no, I am not asking you all to be nice and gush over my awesomeness. You know me and you know how I am. Be honest as you feel you need to be, just don't be an ass and keep it to critiquing the character. You have a problem with myself, i'm happy to broach that in PM.

Forgot to post to this, don't mind me.

Anyway, Julius is a total nerd. End of story. :p

Okay, getting serious now, promise. There's always been something about this character and the way you write him ever since their first thread. I don't know if I can accurately place a word to it other than poetic. In some way every post of yours in our threads reads as a sort of poetry, and it's part of what draws me to the character. He's written so delicately and yet so hard-hitting at the same time, and I love that. This new direction you've begun to take him in has only added to that dynamic, and it's great. Keep it up, always.

My only critique is that you haven't posted to our thread yet, and I also have a need to know more about those past lives of his. The foreshadowing is too much.

  • Positive: Malcolm Reynolds as a corellian SWC character written by someone that can write. :D
  • Negative: Malcolm Reynolds type character running around the galaxy with a glow rod. Makes me sad that such a concept is being used more as a space wizard then cowboy. :(
