Description
CSAF Commando Armor is a light-weight durasteel armor system designed to be worn over a vacuum-sealed body suit, and gives CSAF Commandos the protection and mobility they need to close with and destroy the enemy.
Strengths: The Sharbo armor is rather effective at what it does, offering substantial defensive and supportive capabilities, and allows an operative to maintain independence for days to weeks at a time.
++Versatile, Modular
++Hefty Defense
++Phrik-infused body suit: Can turn direct lightsaber blows (singularly, not multiple).
Weaknesses: However, the armor is not without its weaknesses. Whilst it does not suffer much detraction of its capabilities when confronted with other armored opponents, unarmored foes will experience a great advantage of speed in their attacks over the wearer, allowing a talented and clever-minded foe to whittle down the user and overwhelm their defenses.
The armor is also not resistant to EMP / Ion weaponry (save for the shielded helmet), and as such, unless specifically protected, any electricity-dependent attachments will remain openly vulnerable to such damage, be its source natural or artificial.
--Reduces mobility compared to unarmored / lightly armored foes
--Non-Helmet equipment not protected against EMP / Ion weaponry
Body Suit Specifications
Weight: 4.5 kilograms
Colour: Variable
Composition: Phrik Fibercarbon Armor-woven Polymer
The body suit is fully sealed; the fibercarbon polymer lends additional resistance to melee weapons. To keep mobility unhindered, the armor weave is focused in areas unprotected by the plate armor. The suit's environmental control system is embedded within the polymer as well.
Armor Specifications
Weight: 22 kilograms
Duranium plating: This durable material is one of the strongest in the known Galaxy, and sees widespread use as a result in starship hulls. Capable of withstanding direct contact from blaster weapons [including but not limited to, laser cannons], projectile rounds, fragmentary and concussion grenades, and artillery rounds, and even indirect blows from lightsabers, duranium is the ideal material for the armor systems of CSAF's Infantry Commandos.
Color: Variable [Dependent on operating terrain and mission requirements and personal preference]
Common CSAF variants include mottled patterns of brown-brown-green [jungle/forest operations], grey-blue-blue [aquatic operations], and grey-black-maroon [urban operations].

Complimentary Armor Systems
CSAF Infantry Commando Beskar'gam is designed to support a series of integrated systems that provide critical services to the owner commando. Included are environmental, sanitary, communication, Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance [ISR], defensive and weaponized in nature.
Non-Helmet Systems
Environmental/Climate Control Systems: These systems provide the commando with the ability to control the temperature, humidity, and thermal output of their armor. These controls can be utilized to control hyper- or hypothermia, as well as adapt to any nearby external temperature source in order to evade thermal sensor systems.
Sanitation Control Systems: These systems recycle the commando's liquid and solid waste, converting liquid waste into consumable water, and storing solid waste in an easily disposable manner. Even sweat can be absorbed by the thin moisture-wicking layer of the vacuum-sealed body suit and converted into distilled water for consumption.
Close Quarters Melee Weapons: This system is built into the backs of both wrist gauntlets and is constructed from durasteel as well as given a razor sharp edge needed in any close quarters conflict. The pressure activated frame of the blade allows it to be utilized as a cutting and puncturing tool for not only soft targets, but equipment, doors/hatches, and even the hull plating found on most civilian and light-armored military transports.
Passive Deflector Shields: Similar to the deflector shield systems from the Katarn Mark I, II, and III designs, the shields built into the CSAF Infantry Commando Beskar'gam utilizes a passive sensor system that activates only in areas of need, or where armor plating has been compromised. This passive activation system allows for power to be utilized only where needed, and relies on the durasteel plate system as the commando's shared means of defense against projectile, energy, and concussive weapons.
Bacta Injection System: This system allows for the easy application of bacta injections into the commando's body, allowing for rapid recovery from even traumatic injury under moderate combat circumstances. The injection process is passive, though can be activated intentionally by the individual commando or a nearby ally.
Helmet Systems
Durasteel Plating: The outer layer of the CSAF Infantry Commando helmet, or buy'ce, is made of the same durasteel as the armor plates comprising the remainder of the armor system and includes a variety of systems critical to the operations conducted by CSAF Commandos.
EMP/Ion-resistant Mesh Underlay: The secondary layer of the helmet is constructed of a thin layer of wire mesh designed to seal the helmet against EMP [Electromagnetic Pulse] weapons and defensive measures, as well as provide a light concussion-protected layer. This protects against the energy and physical damage caused by most weaponry, though does not protect against kinetic energy transferred on impact.
Built just underneath this mesh layer resides the helmet's audio and vocal systems, which are designed to filter the noise of combat when necessary to allow for easy communication. Can likewise be sealed against sonic waves above acceptable decibel levels.
Secure Firmware / Software: In order to prevent tampering or extraneous unauthorized control, the helmet has been designed to protect against remote slicing attempts. Remote access is possible, upon approval from the user and / or verification of authorization from qualified CSAF personnel.
Filtration System: This system protects the commando against any known form of biological or chemical attack, as well as seals against vacuum/depressurized environments and provides the wearer with a lengthy supply of breathable air that is recycled using carbon-dioxide scrubbers. These systems can also draw oxygen from a toxic environment, giving the commando a potentially unlimited supply of breathable air.
Communication System: The communication systems built into the helmet provide long-range communicative abilities to the commando and is capable of sending and receiving transmissions in infrared [IR], radiation-based line-of-sight, and tight-beam waves. This allows the commando to maintain contact on securely encrypted as well as open-ended transmission channels. The communications suite can likewise function through available relays, its own security unthreatened even when using insecure relay systems.
Heads-Up Display [HUD]: The HUD system displays all relevant data directly to the wearer, including [but not limited to]: The relative health and location of the wearer and any surrounding allies/hostiles; make, model and relative accuracy of surrounding weapon systems; and electrobinocular and night-vision optics. The visor itself can adapt opacity instantaneously to changing lighting conditions, whether they are brought on by ordnance or a simple change or alteration in natural or artificial light.
The HUD system can also detect and mark up to 20 different targets at one time, be they vehicles, personnel, aircraft, or designated locations. Can be manipulated by voice command, eye-lid movements, and even tongue controls to display whatever combination of data the commando decides is relevant. Furthermore, targeting data can be transmitted from or be received by any individual commando's helmet, allowing for instantaneous communication between CSAF commandos and their support assets.
Scanning Systems: These optical and passive sensor systems can detect movement under any lighting conditions, utilizing IR, radiation-based, broad-spectrum, and UV wavelengths. Manipulation of these different capabilities allow CSAF commandos to make accurate detection even on many types of stealth/cloaked personnel, vehicles or equipment.
