STANDARD FEATURES
The Cultellus-Class comes fully equipped with the whole standard array of shields, systems and components that are normally associated with vessels of this size and class.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
Tough Ship Of Battle: The Cultellus-Class is very tough for a vessel of its size, allowing it to engage and at the very least hold the attention of larger vessels should the need arise.
Jack of All Trades: Cultellus-Class is fairly solid across the board in every other respect. Maybe not great, but definitely not bad, either.
WEAKNESSES
Mortal Engines: Due to the unusual exposed placement of the engines, the damage, disablement or destruction of even one can dramatically decrease the vessel’s speed as it is forced to compensate for the maneuverability issues that arise.
Belly Rub: Vessel’s underbelly is significantly less armed, making it more vulnerable to attacks coming from that axis.
DESCRIPTION
Cultellus-Class is the all too easily overlooked workhorse of any fleet. It isn’t super heavily armed, it isn’t super fast, and it certainly doesn’t turn super invisible (or any other kind of invisible for that matter). It's actually rather unremarkably average in almost every regard, save for the fact that it is, well.. Save for the fact it is pretty damn tough to say the least. The kind of tough you can afford to depend on to hold that battleline, for better or worse, against heavy odds. Not too surprising given that heavily reinforced frame, double thick ablative armour plating and redundant shield generators.
What’s more, the dedicated repair drones and auto-repair modules working in concert with the onboard synthicators dramatically reduce the down time the vessel might experience should it actually become damaged, allowing it to rejoin the line in a fraction of a time it would normally require to restore it to fighting shape.
Offensively it makes good use of multiple twin solar ionization cannon batteries, heavy ion cannons and a versatile missile launcher system. The ability to field two full combat squadrons further covers any shortcomings, as well as affording it a versatility not many other frigates share.
