DESCRIPTION
The Cursor-class Courier is the kind of ship that does one thing very well, and that thing is running away. It will get from point A to point B with remarkable speed. Its slim sensor profile and extensive countermeasures -- including proprietary shearing planes and shroud dispensers -- allow it to baffle tractor beams and keep on running. The shearing planes, though projected straight out along their emitters’ aiming axes, can usually cross most tractor beam vectors at acute angles, weakening or breaking the beam. In combination with shrouds, the shearing planes can handle all but the strongest multidirectional tractor beams and get the Cursor safely away.
The ship’s interior is cramped and simplistic, due to the large engines, the compressed hull dimensions, and Gallofree’s general impatience with frippery. Only two corridors stretch the length of the centreline. With the internal volume of a light freighter, the Cursor has quarters and facilities for a minimal crew comprised mainly of astromech droids. Solo operation (pilot plus droids) is possible but exhausting and unsafe.
Jerec Asyr was one of the many shipwrights on this project. He liked the design so much that he saved up and bought a Cursor for himself. He named it the Colichemarde, after a type of slim duelling sword.

STRENGTHS
- Excellent acceleration.
- Can deploy nasty probe droids, typically as a distraction while escaping.
- Extremely slim profile is hard to target and hit, especially in a chase situation.
- Good countermeasures for running away, particularly for escaping tractor beams.
WEAKNESSES
- Virtually unarmed, with only a handful of heavy laser cannons and basic warhead launchers, most of them pointed backward by default, for chase situations.
- Low maneuverability, as engines are optimized for straight-line acceleration.
- No fighters or support ships.
