Cutting To The Chase

Anastasia didn't feel as if she was missing something in her life. She had a loving family and home but still she couldn't help but be curious about her heritage. There was more out there that she didn't know and the information that she had obtained from a certain someone wasn't reliable. He had turned out to be nothing more than a lier.

During the little spare time Ana had she did her own research on her family using the little bit of reliable information that she had collected. It wasn't much but it had been enough of a lead to bring her here.

She had been to many sketchy cantinas but this was one of the more interesting ones. Normally this wasn't where she would be but her contact was supposed to be here. This was the place he hung out and she was trying to find answers to her questions. Hopefully she wasn't going to get the runaround and he would speak with her.

Normally the young woman would wear her armor but here she opted out of wearing it and instead chose plain brown Jedi robes. The last thing Ana wanted to do was stick out from the crowd. After a quick glance around the cantina she frowned a little as she didn't see anyone whom fit the description.

After ordering herself a drink Ana took a seat in the corner to wait.

Onyx walked into the joint he picked. He always did enjoy places like this. He found some clarity in the drunk and stupid. But he wasn't here to witness them. This time he was here to meet someone. Something he always found pride in was his knowledge and his network of comrades who could get him such things.

This knowledge was something he found very interesting and he witnessed a great opportunity. A opportunity that could lead to a apprentice. He loved it. So he was here, bringing his information to a young lady. She was interested in her past. He wasn't. He could care less. But he wanted to tell her, after what he learned.

He walked over to the corner booth and sat without saying anything. His hood was up and his mask was on, as always. "Anastasia," he greeted. "I'm Onyx." He didn't do anything but stare at her through his mask. She was a Jedi Knight. She didn't know he was a Sith Lord. Wouldn't be long before she did. However he knew how to convince others to listen to him. She wanted answers. That meant listening to him.

She had a family, Ana considered the Mandalorian's that family. It would be nice to one day share with her children their heritage good or bad. They deserved to know and she was curious herself. It was why she took this risk besides. What was the worst that could happen anyway? Ana was quite capable of taking care of herself.

The only thing she knew about the mystery man she was to meet here was that he supposedly knew about her family. Ana only believed this as he had shown her proof of such otherwise she wouldn't have believed him. She was quite certain he had what he was looking for which was why she was here.

A light smile appeared on her face and she lowered her hood as [member="The Onyx"] sat down in front of her. The hood, the mask didn't phase her one bit. She had seen it all before. "It's nice to finally meet you in person. Thank you for coming. Can I get you something to drink?" Ana questioned before she took a sip of her beer. She didn't want to be rude and just jump into questions.

He reached up and lowered his hood, then took his mask off, placing it on the table off to the site. His face was as it was, filled with scars from battles and the occasional cybernetic showing. Though, as with his newly obtained sickness, his face was now a very noticeable pale tone and his normally bright blue eyes were now a sinister yellow.

He smirked and shook his head. "I'll live without it," he informed her with a deep and somewhat raspy voice. He looked around to ensure no one was listening. He looked back at her. She was beautiful, he had to admit. It was rare to find such beautiful girls in the midst of this chaotic galaxy. It didn't help that you were working with Sith, who were almost always physically corrupt from their addiction to darkness. Onyx had cybernetics, after all, because of a injury he received while obtaining power. A fight he wouldn't' forget.

He turned his attention to the matter at hand. [member="Anastasia Rade"], as she was called, was a Jedi Knight who's name crossed Onyx's desk multiple times. Though he never took an interest, he did discover something regarding her family he thought he could use against the young Knight. That's why he was here. "I understand you are a Jedi Knight?" he asked innocently. He knew the answer, or course, he just had to play casual to get her to fall for his ploy.

"I understand you don't know much about your parents and their mysterious deaths," he informed her. "Rest assured, I have found information you may find completely helpful."

Ana didn't even flinch as he took his mask off. The young knight had seen much worse in her time though she was curious as to what happened to him. It wasn't her place however to say anything. She was here to get information regarding her past nothing more.

"Yes, on both accounts. My parents died when I was really little. I'm happy in my position now I just want to learn more about my heritage." Sighing she paused for a moment leaning against the back of the chair. "My brother told me about my father however my we did not share the same mother. I wonder if you know anything about her which it sounds like you do. What is your price?" Ana may be native at times however she knew that nothing ever was free. He was not doing this out of the goodness of his heart. The galaxy was just as a cruel as slavery at times.

Onyx shook his head at her as she asked for a price. "No price," he informed her with a warm smile, "Family matters are free."

He was only playing with her. In his mind he planned on using this to sway her towards him, towards the darkness. Family was always a sensitive subject, no matter who you were talking to, and using the information he knew against her could easily sway the young Knight to his side. But he didn't want to reveal it just yet. He, like a sinister krayt dragon who plays with it's food, he wanted her to suffer a bit.

His smile disappeared. "Now," he stated in a more professional tone, "Where shall we begin?"

[member="Anastasia Rade"]

Ana wished that she could believe that the information he had for her was free. The young woman knew at the end of the day it wasn't and wouldn't be. [member="The Onyx"] would want something from her at the end. What would it be? Was the price worth the information? There were so many questions but instead of questioning it Ana decided to just go with it. She wanted his information. The price she would deal with later.

"Thank you, I appreciate it." She lightly smiled taking a sip of her drink. "Do you know anything about my mother? I have found out much about the man my father was but my mother is still a mystery. I'm just curious about my heritage."

He nodded as he waved to the roaming astromech droid serving drinks. As it swerved over to grab his empty cup and place a full one down, Onyx smiled at [member="Anastasia Rade"]. "Your father was a Imperial Moff," he started. Even though she stated she knew who he was, he wanted to state it to show he really did have some knowledge.

As the droid glided away, Onyx took a large gulp of the drink. He looked down into it, thinking for a moment before continuing. "Your mother was someone..." he searched for the right words, "...interesting."

He couldn't help but laugh on the inside. The facts he knew, the information was so precious. And turning this young Knight would be entertaining to say the least. As soon as she learned... "What do you know about her exactly?" he asked.

Ana nodded at his comment about her father. She had always wanted to meet her father. Ana had imagined him to be the type of man to harness and control armies, nations. Sadly she had never gotten the chance to really know him. There were times she wondered what life would be like if she had gotten the chance to know him.

"My mother was a slave and from what my brother told me used to be a Jedi. Do you know something different?" Ana believed Graxin because there had always been no reason not to. He was her step-brother whom had actually known their father and knew her mother. The way [member="The Onyx"] spoke it sounded like perhaps they were wrong.

"What do you know? Was she someone before her capture?"
