Side Effects/ Purpose:
The chemical compound of Cyanile was fabricated by the League of Sanctified Steel based on ancient research papers they discovered on a long-abandoned human colony that had been ravaged by the Gulag Plague, the League's recovered research papers, law enforcement reports and journalist articles representated the chemical being used as a chemical munition and applied largely to force masses of mammals, humans and near-humans to disperse under orders. Recognizing the potential for use in their own arsenal for use against numerically superior foes the League of Sanctified Steel's leadership ordered their Order of Artisans and the Order of Edification to begin research and development immediately, it took approximately five years from the recovery of related documents and information for them to successfully produce the first ton of Cyanile powder in 436 ABY.
Using consenting and informed test subject volunteers from the Order of Reclamation's Defender Corps, the League's artificers observed the compound's effects when dispersed into an aerosol solution and the resultant observations when compared with the recovered data confirmed to the League of Sanctified Steel's leadership they had successfully reproduced the same substance described in those historical materials. Cyanile was immediately adopted by the Order of Reclamation as one of their few widely-used chemical munitions viewing the weapons with suspicion and some even believing their use is at odds with their code of ethics, however its' effectiveness and less-than-lethal nature soon won over even the most conservative and paranoid officers who began using it with increasing confidence.
Use of Cyanile in its' aerosol gas form has been firmly embedded into the operations and culture of the Defender Corps as they view it as a positive tool which can save lives where other weapons would sooner take them, Defender Corps recruits and aspirants are liberally exposed to the substance as part of their chemical munitions operator training so that they build a tolerance to its' effects should they find themselves unshielded in an environment thoroughly contaminated with the substance. Cyanile in an aerosol solution appears as a colorless or white cyanide-type gas that is quite light and readily contaminates the surrounding area with the effects being immediate and pronounce, most exposed will immediately cough uncontrollably and this causes difficulty breathing and subsequent panic in the subject who should also experience a vicious burning sensation in their mucous membranes such as the exposed openings on skin, eyes, and up the nose.
The contact with eyes causes most subject to tear involuntarily and typically forces the effected individual to shut their eyes, robbing them of sight those who do not find themselves shutting their eyes often find vision obscured by the uncontrollable tearing effect. Prostrating oneself on the ground is encouraged by the gas, due to its' rather light molecular weight it tends to drift around and upwards, so while laying on the ground in a standard gravity environment won't spare an individual they won't be contaminated as severely. Severely contaminated individuals often start vomiting, experience dizziness and disorientation with prolonged exposure. Despite being described as a "Less than Lethal" munition, Cyanile has been documented historically and by the League of Sanctified Steel to cause fatalities related directly to complications from exposure to Cyanile in its' aerosol solution although such cases are exceedingly rare, even infants fully recover from prolonged exposure.

Method of Consumption:
- Physical contact
- Inhalation via aerosol solution dispersed via explosive force
Side Effects/ Purpose:
- Primary reactions: High probability
- Dermatological burning sensation
- Disorientation
- Dizziness
- Severe tearing
- Shutting of eyes
- Vomiting
- Prostration
- Profuse coughing
- Restricted breathing
- Uncontrollable nasal discharge
- Secondary reactions: High probability
- Respiratory irritation
- Sporadic coughing
- Complications: Low probability (Aerosol consumption), high probability (Ingestion or inhalation of powder-form)
- Cardiac fibrosis
- Hepatocellular damage
- Pulmonary edema
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Cyanile-induced Pneumonitis
- Flexible modular delivery
- Aerosol solution
- Physical compound
- Less-than-lethal
- Dispersal: The sum total of Cyanile's constituent molecules is quite light and this makes it significantly easy for large quantities of the chemical to be dispersed in an aerosol solution quickly and over a large area for maximal effect, of course this also has a downside and the chemical can have its' effectiveness reduced in an atmospheric environment with high windspeed, forcing the using force to expend more munitions for a comparative effect without the windspeed.
- Less-than-lethal: When dispersed into an aerosol solution Cyanile is designed to completely incapacitate a subject in the shortest time possible which can be upon contact but in practically all uses of the aerosol solution Cyanile is a less-than-lethal munition allowing full-recovery of its' victims in a short time and appropriate treatment. The incapacitating effects vary from individual to individual and are designed to have a potentially rapid onset when an individual enters a contaminated environment unshielded.
- Secondary contamination: Individuals who come into physical contact with those effected by Cyanile are at high-risk of contamination themselves. Unwary unshielded individuals exposed to Cyanile could potentially experience secondary effects similar to its' primary contamination effects such as respiratory irritation, coughing and mucous membrane irritation. Severity of secondary effects varies with the amount of contamination and the secondary contamination could still be sufficiently potent to impair or incapacitate the effected individual.
- Droid resistance: Because the cyanile relies upon uptake into organic tissues for its' effective it has no effect on machinery such as droids.
- First Aid: Initial primary care is a very effective way to reduce the impact of the cyanile molecules, individuals effected by the aerosol solution can quickly recover after being removed from a contaminated area by rinsing the cyanile molecules off of the face and away from the respiratory system using water making recovery very fast when the appropriate care techniques are applied.
- Respiratory reliant: For effectiveness cyanile is largely reliant on being inhaled by its' targets for successful incapacitation, the use of a full-face respirator filters designed to prevent the passing of cyanile molecules preventing them from entering the respiratory system or making contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes and in the nose which are extraordinarily sensitive to contact with cyanile. This makes individuals equipped with full-face respirators equipped with appropriate filters or a closed-circuit breathing apparatus immune to incapacitation, exposed skin and mucous membranes might still be irritated and could potentially cause an unpleasant burning sensation but this doesn't necessarily lead to incapacitation.
