Strengths:
  • Armaments - This patrol Ship excels at disabling or damaging hostile ships
Weaknesses:
  • Exposed Weaponry - With many weapons on retractable foils, a loss of a shield could mean most weapons are practically torn off due to their weakened arms

The D5 was built to be an excellent ship against larger vessels, especially helpful to organizations who couldn't field such vessels. The Mantis is a helpful patrol ship or interceptor to capital-class vessels, however primarily a good tool as a personal vessel or a prisoner transport. Small enough to fit in most landing areas, and not too obstructive for repairs and refueling, the Mantis is a great ship for any organization looking to defend their territory or capture criminals. Along with its unique weapon system, the retractable foils come with their own power supply. So if the ship is hit with ionizing weapons, more than likely the foils themselves have to be hit as well to completely shut them down. While they more than likely couldn't be fired if the systems connecting the bridge to the weapons is down, it makes for a quick reboot.

[member="Kuat Drive Yards"], this is one rating too high in its current form as a corvette.

My suggestion would be to reduce its size from the canon version (I'd probably also rename it so people don't confuse with the canon ship) to something that's distinctly under 50 meters. I realize that the canon version supposedly is carried in great numbers even with its current size, but for board purposes, this is going to be difficult unless that squadron size is "none".

[member="Kuat Drive Yards"], looking at the finer points of the starfighter template is this:

Based on that, this looks like it's going to have to be 50 meters or smaller to be used in squadrons.

I'd probably suggest moving armament to "Average", which would be fine with your listed weapons. But you could lower another rating if you'd prefer.

Question on Armament, is it confusing? I listed the first weaoons as 3 separate weapon systems with what they have on each of them. I am also missing another fkrward facing weapon, I could add another Medium Ion Cannon ti the front since the list seems average.

I think I'll lower defense

Defenses: Low Deflector Shield Backup Deflector Shield
With the change to "low" defense, I'd probably also remove the back-up deflector shield. That's something that would more likely than not boost this up or negate the "low" rating.
