  • 30 Quad Lasers Cannons
  • 15 Quad, Rapid Defense Turrets
  • Electronic CM/CCM Systems

Defenses: Rating - 4
  • Standardized Warship Shielding

Hangar: 0 Squadrons

Special Features: Listed as;

  • Crew Club - Where officers and enlisted can come for a drink, play a few card games, listen to the scuttle butt and just relax after a hard day’s (or night’s) work.

  • Uprated Sickbay - A standard sickbay with the addition of a dental and counselling offices, allowing the crew time to maintain their oral and mental health.

  • Bridge - Where the commanding officer and his/her crew monitor control of the vessel, getting readings, summaries and up to date notifications on the ship’s positions. The bridge also serves as the combat centre where ship’s weapons and shields are fired and monitored.

  • Stellar Cartography Labs - Unique to the Dagger-class, are the stellar cartography labs as the galaxy around us is ever changing, and the Dagger being as agile, as maneuverable and as mass produced as it is... Is able to maintain up to date records and charts of the stars around First Imperial Territory.

  • Electronic Warfare CM/CCM Systems - In the new age of war, one must always be prepared for the electronic side of the battle, the Vindicator-class comes equipped to handle such aggressions and to unleash its own barrage of electronic warfare as well. The primary function of which is sensor jamming. An effort to blind enemy sensors by overwhelming them. (x) (Countermeasure / Counter-countermeasure)

  • Advanced Sensors and Targeting Systems - Unlike say the Vindicator which comes with standard sensors and targeting systems, the Dagger is able to track vessels a lot easier than her big sister. Advanced targeting is twice as effective as standard systems. Allowing the Dagger to find her foes faster than other vessels in the First Imperial Navy. Standard Turbolaser Range.

  • Security/Tactical Offices - Function much like offices aboard a Vindicator-class vessel, but due to the size of the Dagger the offices are often combined and are less frequent than on her sister.

  • Logistics Management - Their functionality is again much like that of the Vindicator only there is only one office aboard a Dagger-class and it is housed in Upper Engineering.

  • Upper/Lower Engineering - The bulk of the engines are housed in lower engineering, but the upper portion houses a lot of the software and electrical components of the engine systems. The Dagger was built from newer-aged designs as opposed to older models like that of the Vindicator. There are no offices for the Chief Engineer / Assistant Chief Engineer per say, but rather built in cubicles that function as offices for these senior/junior officers.

  • Standard Warship Hazard and Damage Control Systems

  • Standard Warship Sensors and Targeting Systems

  • Standard Warship Communications Systems

  • Standard Warship Environmental Control Systems

  • Standard Warship Tractor Beam

Maneuvrability Rating: 9
Speed Rating: 9
Hyperdrive Class: 1

Strengths:
[+] I Will Find You: With its advanced targeting and sensor systems, the Dagger makes it a priority to find elusive targets - even those that might try to hide using stealth or cloaking technology. A Dagger-class escort frigate's advanced sensors and target system are more likely to detect ships who are cloaked and do not have a thurst trace dampener, or a way to disguise their 'exhaust'. The Dagger's advanced sensor capacity works as far as standard turbolaser range, but only if it knows to look in a specific direction, with a focused scan.

[+] More Pew-Pew: The dagger has a higher rate of damage output per second than her sister the Vindicator, enabling her to bring down enemy vessels shields and hull integrity at a more rapid rate. The Vindicator's guns while more than capable of defending itself against vessels of her class and size, the Dagger's fire power will hit their targets more often at a higher rate than the Vindicator. Making the Dagger's weapons more effective in a fight.

Weaknesses:
[-] Don’t Hurt Me: While the Dagger boasts the ability to bite more often than the Vindicator she’s a smaller vessel and her shields are not able to withstand a tremendous amount of firepower.

[-] Fire in the Hole: Because she is quantity over quality her engine rooms are more susceptible to fire and electrical shortages than other vessels of her type.

[-] Dogfighter: Due to the Dagger’s nature of being an escort, she’s not meant to take on capital vessels, if she is faced against one and she is without her bigger sisters, then the Dagger should take the better part of valor and retreat. Her fragility will do her no good in a capital match, she’s capable of holding her own against others of her class and dealing with pesky starfighters (A wings, X wings, etc). A capital ship will be the end of the Dagger and her crew.

[-] Instant Death: As aforementioned because she is not able to withstand a tremendous amount of firepower there are plenty of vessels within the galaxy who are more than capable of delivering a wide area of effect blow that would more than likely seal the Dagger’s fate and send her to an early grave. So while captaining a vessel such as the Dagger be sure to keep her out of powerful areas of effect attacks, or be prepared to say goodbye to the galaxy.

Description: Sponsored by Lady Levinson of Talbot County on Dosuun, paid for through the leftover donations from the Curovao Family of Brentaal IV the Dagger-class is produced at the Primo Victorian Shipyards in Victoria City (also known as the Third City). Primo Victorian Shipwrights also designed the vessel to be a small sister ship to the Vindicator-class light carrier. (x)

Production for the Dagger has now been extended to the Curovao Shipyards above Ryoone and will also be produced at Cloud City Fleet surrounding Bespin, with Primo Victorian maintaining contracts for productions thereof; although they are not opposed to subcontracting out various parts to be produced elsewhere.

The Dagger was built with escorting the Vindicator in mind, and thus works to compliment the larger vessel. And much like the Vindicator, the Dagger was built as a look toward the future with the hallmark of the past Galactic Empire within its design.

Development Thread: If Necessary

Intent: To develop an escort frigate for the First Imperial Navy, and to diversify our Navy. Giving naval/fleeting role-players more choices and flavor to add to their fleet/command lists.

Who Can Use This: First Order

Alright, so there's a few things to tackle on before putting it as pending. The submission is good, solid and fairly balanced.

1. The defense rating, considering the weakness stated, I suggest dropping back to 4 which is the standard defences of escort frigates.

2. Percentages are usually not something considered/regarded on Chaos, I would rather like to see how is A more effective than B. Nothing too much really, just maybe a sentence or so ?

3. This is probably what I would like to see more delving into is its strength to detect stealth/cloaked ships - How is it able to do so ? What range ? Does size of the stealthed/cloaked ships matter ? I would love to see some detail here with a couple of factors explaining this ability of the ship.

Other than that, as I said earlier, the submission is pretty nice with really interesting additions such as cartrography labs and crew club.
