"What's in there?" one of the enclave padawans asked.

Only what you take with you.

It had been days since the Svivren Jedi made planetfall and set up an encampment before the first of their rangers managed to track down its location. The Cave loomed before them as ominous as it had been for thousands of years. It did not want to be found. Despite the aura of calm he projected for the first time in a very long time Master Oros felt afraid. An expedition of a few masters, knights, and senior padawans now camped outside. They were here to study its properties and determine if it might one day be possible to heal the wound that had festered for so long in Dagobah's swamps.

I will lead a scouting party of two senior knights-

"Creature!"

Lightsabers hummed to life even as one of the First Order's abandoned experiments leaped down from a tree to gore one of the padawans. It rebounded violently off the psychic barrier Oros conjured to protect his charge before he gripped it in stasis while two Jedi Knights gave mercy to the mutated Ssi-ruu prisoner. The celegian could sense more approaching. Many more. Too many for them to fend off without losses.

We must take shelter. Into the Cave!

"Master!" a knight hesitated, "Is that wise?"

Remember the Code and this place cannot harm you.

  • Survive the Darkside Cave of Dagobah. Study its nature while searching for a way out.
  • The Cave is bigger on the inside and wants you to stay.
  • Protect the Jedi encampment from mutant First Order experiments.

Caedyn had never visited Dagobah before now, however he had known that his Father had once fought to protect the world from the wrath of the First Order long before his son's entrance into the Jedi way of life. Accompanying Oros Oros as part of the small group of Jedi Knights and Masters, Caedyn was pleased to be going on an excursion with their chief archivist and librarian. It was rare that Oros stepped so far from the comforts of the Praxeum or the Enclave, given his precarious being.

Much to the shared shock and urgency for the senior members of the group to get the students back within cover, Caedyn had not expected to find the likeness of Sithspawn here. Or atleast that's what the Ssi-ruu resembled to he who had never come into contact with their species, twisted and corrupted through the First Order's experimentation, they were different from their original predecessors, the true Ssi-ruu that had come before the rise of the First Order itself. Drawing not upon his blade but instead gathering his strength in the Force, Caedyn hurled a wall of kinetic energy ahead of the group in order to deter their assailants and sending them into a air-borne frenzy.

One of the Knights with them questioned Oros instructions, though there were fewer options than Caedyn would have liked and even fewer moments before the hostile creatures would be upon them once more. "Do as he asks of you, we have no time for this" Caedyn replied, his voice elevated with a sense of frustration as he kept his back to the group, ensuring that they would not be caught from behind while the students entered the cave first, soon followed by their elders.

Master Oros wasted little time from within the cave mouth. He reached out and felt earth rumble when the Force answered his call. A small whirlwind of rock and stone rose up, slowly sealing them in around the edges. Another of the creatures dove for Caedyn Arenais but somehow the librarian sent it reeling through the air with a thought while maintaining focus on his work.

Quickly, Arenais! Stay your blade!

The Jedi Knight retreated through a man sized portal before Oros placed the last stones sealing them in. Unnatural growls echoed of the stones for the creatures had been just seconds behind. They were bathed in pitch darkness until the celegian's crystalline life support chamber began to glow with supernatural brightness. He'd manipulated the cyanogen liquid which sustained his form into a state of phosphorescence.

There is no choice then. We must explore this defiled place together for another way out.

Lucien had never been to Dagobah, not with his former Master and neither in the present. It was a swampy, smelly world with nothing that could qualify as native intelligent lifeforms, but Luc would digress from the thought of questioning the land he now stood upon. R4 and Midnight were parked within the Scintilla, which meant that he was truly stuck with the group he now found himself with. The Jedi of the Svivren Enclave were different, he'd give them that. Maybe not as handy with a blade as he'd like them to be, but such an assumption was unfounded at best. He'd never seen one of their kind use one yet. Perhaps this 'mission' might bear some interesting fruit later on, he mused to himself.

That is until the creatures of the night began swarming their little encampment en masse. One of the abominations leaped down from a tree, catching Lucien off-guard in what felt like his most serious lapse in judgement by far. His focus had waned, and for it he almost suffered with his life. The beast would have undoubtedly ripped him open had it not been for the intervention of one of the Order's masters; an alien whose form was hard for Luc to comprehend, but nonetheless he respected his ability to manipulate the force. It had saved his hide, after all, and given him enough time to wake up from his stupor.

A lightsaber entered his hands, the aqua-blade blue erupting in defense of its master as a pair of Knights interjected to end the creature rightly where it was halted. Orders followed to enter the cave that was their purpose for being their in the first place. Lucien didn't hesitate in this thoughts, following the Master's orders and deactivating his saber, rushing for the cave with the others. They were sealed in shortly after everyone had made it in, the absence of light being somewhat alarming, but not causing him to feel disturbed. The feeling of the dark that permeated around them, on the other hand, was a cause for...concern? Intrigue? He couldn't put his finger on it just yet, but it was akin to the feeling of anxiousness when nothing was there. It reminded him of the tomb he visited on Ziost all those years ago, but somehow the air was thicker here. For now he'd stick close to the phosphorescent Master, the jet-black hilt of his weapon in hand if he needed to defend himself -- and be ready, this time -- again.
