TRAITS
Ozyly-esehembo: Dakhma belongs to the Ozyly-esehembo, the 'sky-walkers', a Chiss tradition of force-sensitive navigators with extraordinary powers of precognition. By stretching her perception into nigh-incomprehensibility she gains the foresight to coordinate armies, augur the future, and navigate ships through hyperspace by hand. Alas, the incredible strain of this power burns away its user's connection to the Force - by 15, almost all Ozyly-esehembo irreversibly lose their abilities, severed from the Force, and it is all but unknown for an Ozyly-esehembo to practice any other powers. Dakhma lives in the shadow of an inevitable tragedy.
Xenophobe: All her life, even in exile, Dakhma has only known the ways of the Chiss, her mind shaped into unfaltering faith in both order and hierarchy, relying upon their absolute infallibility to focus.her abilities. She has little but revulsion to spare for the rest of the galaxy and its inhabitants, zealously pursuing a dream of total Chiss supremacy.
Exile birth: Dakhma was born into a fallen house, dishonoured for its treason. Hiding in the wilds, she and her family braved savagery and hardship to survive, until the Chiss Ascendancy saw fit to take her into its service, albeit through tragic means. To this she owes the host of scars she draws upon to channel the Force. Whilst not a born warrior by any means, she has both nerve and fury enough for the test of battle, and the skill to point a blaster where it should aim true.
BIOGRAPHY
The house of Lithid is marked by treason and failure, all but wiped from the annals of history. Its indignities are no secret, and its fall of little interest. By the time of Dhakma's birth into its ranks, it was little but a clan of fugitives, driven into exile within the dark tundra of a distant planet, deep in Unknown Space. But in truth, it was in the frozen wastes that she learned all she knows - the value of respect, of order, of standing. Steeped in failure and tattered pride she came to respect only the unshakable glory of the Chiss, and the incorrigible price of betraying her own, a treachery she bore in blood.
And yet, scarcely an infant, this was not all she found amidst the darkness. Blood runs deeper than family. It was only without light that she learned to see. To feel for the racing hearts of the afeared and the damned, of prey and predator; to trace the course of the future like a fault through ice. Her mind traced paths between the shadows of dying stars and lost empires, and like all other gifts, could not come without a price.
To ring death's bell is to summon him - Dakhma's powers could not go unnoticed. Viziters and sky-walkers alike felt the ripples in the Force, as they had done so many times before, and moved without prejudice upon the fallen house of Lithid. That day she saw ice turn to fire, an entire world shattering at the feet of the Ascendancy.
In the righteous arms of the Ascendancy she lost all she knew, and found all that she required; her body and mind honed to a razor's edge, she became an Ozyly-esehembo, eyes of the Chiss, and forsook all else, that she might simply bring her people glory.
