STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Damon is physically imposing to many people, and uses this to his advantage to get weak-willed people to do as he asks-- which is usually leaving him alone. Moreover, he is also stronger than the average human, able to lift between 300 and 350 pounds of dead weight. He is also a capable brawler in a fistfight, though he lacks discipline and training. He also has immense raw Force potential, which he first discovered after killing his father with a large Force Push. As such, his knowledge of just what the Force can do is rather limited, and due to not having anyone to train him properly, he has focused exclusively on increasing his telekinetic prowess because he currently knows nothing else.

While he is not a stupid man, and he is able to read, write, and handle money, this is mostly due to his mother's influence. He tries to make up for this by learning on-the-go, realizing that he'd need to learn how to do certain things in order to survive; his Force power has indirectly aided him in picking up certain skills more quickly than normal, primarily in regards to simple survival. Finally, his life of relative isolation leaves him ignorant of much of the goings-on of the wider Galaxy.

APPEARANCE:
Despite his youth, Damon's hard lifestyle led his body to mature a bit more fully than is usual for a human male; while only twenty years old, he looks several years older. He stands at a towering six-foot-five, and weighs in at two-hundred twenty-five pounds, with a muscular build reflecting his life in a mining colony. He possesses fair skin and icy blue eyes, with short black hair, and were it not for him constantly pushing others away he likely wouldn't have much trouble with attracting women (particularly if they're into the "dark and brooding" types, which is neither here nor there). He wears simple clothing with a black cloak to hide his features.

PERSONALITY:
After leaving Burnin Konn, Damon was a wrathful, brash, and impulsive young man; he didn't have much control over himself yet and was prone to mood swings, angry outbursts, and lashing out at others, particularly if they tried to form connections with him. Months of traveling as a vagabond and trying to hone his telekinetic powers, and being picked up for odd jobs by various employers, taught Damon that he needed to control himself when dealing with them, and he has somewhat reverted back to the quiet, somewhat timid behavior of his childhood. While he still possesses a great deal of anger at his life, he has since realized that work could be considered an outlet, and this tends to keep him calm.

Despite his horrid upbringing, Damon is aware of what compassion, love and kindness are; but he doesn't understand why anyone would show such things to him, with it being imprinted on him that the Galaxy is a cruel place and that no-one would ever really care for him. As such, he has no idea of how to react to those that show unconditional kindness to him apart from trying to get them to go away, and in fact, though all he really wants is for someone to care about him, he actually seems to fear the possibility of allowing himself to form any real bonds with people, due to the belief that they'll simply wind up mistreating and forsaking him, or that they will wind up like his deceased mother. Due to a lack of childhood peers, his inability to form bonds is compounded by having no real concept of friendship with those his own age.

However, for all his inner anger, Damon is not an evil person; since discovering his Force potential, he has been trying to hone it on his own in order to become powerful enough that he does not need to worry about mistreatment again. He has no desire for conquest and his anger tends to only be directed toward those that try to hurt him. However, he is fully capable of flying into a rage and snapping at the sight of children being abused and mistreated by parents, and is fully willing and able to kill those parents-- especially abusive fathers-- in a misguided attempt to spare those children the sort of pain he had to go through, not realizing that he may in fact make the children's situation even worse; because in his warped mindset, there is nothing worse.

It is also worth mentioning that due to the lack of stable parenting figures in his life, Damon has next to no idea about things like romantic relationships and sex, only having lewd stories from miners and pilots as reference, and tends to react with confusion when they and other such "common knowledge" subjects are brought up.

There honestly isn't very much that Damon outright likes. Due to his abusive upbringing on a lonely mining colony, he never had the time or ability to find hobbies, and at present, despite his newfound freedom from his childhood home, he finds himself unable to get enjoyment from much of anything. He has an absolute loathing for parents who abuse their children, however, and has occasionally used his abilities to punish them for their actions, which has killed at least one man. He also has a distaste for alcoholic drinks due to suffering under an alcoholic father.

BIOGRAPHY:
Damon Rané was born on the mining world of Burnin Konn in the Outer Rim in late 829 ABY, to a miner father and a mother who worked at the cantina of the small settlement he was born in. From nearly the time he could walk, Damon was thrust into the harshness of dolovite mining, and had to suffer through an abusive childhood, as his father was an uncaring drunk who deemed Damon to be "worth less than a damn slug-rat" and would beat him semi-regularly. Damon's mother, however, did try to comfort Damon whenever his father hurt him, and attempted to teach him about basic morality and give him as much of an education as she could, though she unfortunately died when Damon was still rather young, due to her husband savagely beating her to death in a drunken rage after accusing her of infidelity. As such, Damon only has vague memories of his mother, and they were the only comfort he clung to while growing up.

Damon continued his work as a miner, suffering under his father and gradually becoming more and more withdrawn and quiet, following orders due to fearing being hurt by his father, which didn't stop the man's mistreatment of him. As Damon grew up, he gradually started accumulating "street smart" knowledge through observing the miners of his settlement and pilots that would come by to pick up and offload supplies to the colony. Also, while growing up, he began to notice himself seemingly able to perform his tasks more quickly than others, and even once or twice seemed to be able to detect mining incidents and escape them before they happened; though he did not realize it, this was his latent Force power aiding him.

By the time he was nineteen years old, Damon underwent the defining moment in his life: as his father raged at him for a petty slight, Damon finally snapped, screaming to his father that he loathed him and wanted to kill him; his father retorted that Damon was as worthless as his mother and he never should have let Damon live after he was born. This led to a brief brawl in their home, where father and son struggled to kill each other. This fight ended with Damon unintentionally tapping into the Force and sending his father flying backward, hitting a wall with enough force to kill him quickly. Filled with shock, horror and confusion about what had happened, Damon fled his home, and quickly decided he needed to leave, soon.

To accomplish this, Damon took all the earnings his father had, which were not much at all, and stowed away onboard a freighter heading off-world. Since then, finding himself in the wide-open Galaxy for the first time and being almost completely ignorant of the wider events in the Galaxy, Damon struggled to survive, working whatever jobs he could in order to get enough money to scrape by, and slowly honing his telekinetic abilities in the meantime. This had the effect of calming his initial hotheadedness.

Now it is a year later, and Damon is still struggling for a purpose. He has managed to find a small apartment on Nar Shaddaa to call home while he works, and is unaware that he might, in fact, be destined for greater things.
