Darcella "Darcy" Delan is a young Padawan of the Silver Jedi Order.
Born on Commenor to a poor family, Darcy's early life was fairly uneventful. Her parents were service workers on the busy, bustling world. With a large family to support, it was difficult to get by. The kids learned to be resourceful, finding and repurposing whatever they could to help them survive.
Darcy was the youngest, and the apple of everyone's eye. The paradox of being the youngest sibling meant that whilst she was protected from harm, she also was the last in line for any food or new clothing. By the time they'd got to her, some of her outfits had been worn by several members of her family.
Her family were well-known on the streets of Commenor, some of her siblings getting into bad dealings with other local youths. Silly, teenage crimes and tiny 'gangs' started to be a part of everyday life for them. Darcy's brothers and sisters engaged in petty vandalism, stealing and pilfering on a small, near-insignificant level. Unfortunately, that meant she'd seen a couple of her sisters have run ins with The Law.
Darcy herself was small enough and sneaky enough to make herself useful. Able to slip in and out of buildings with ease, Darcy proved herself pretty well... even if she wasn't the best in a fight. Getting jumped by a rival bunch of teens ended with her getting slashed across the brow, leaving her with a scar as a trophy. Strangely enough, it healed quicker than anyone thought it would.
In fact, everything seemed to heal quicker when it came to Darcy. Sprains and twists would fix themselves pretty easily. Bruises that her family members carried for a week or more would soften and fade within days for Darcy. If she helped to look after anyone that was injured, they'd find themselves feeling a lot better a lot quicker. Like they were full of energy as their wounds faded and healed near-perfectly.
That's how her Force sensitivity was discovered. Her uncanny knack at healing others in her little 'crew' caused more waves than she intended, leading to the intervention of her parents. Her parents and the Jedi. After testing her sensitivity, they recommended that Darcy be taken for training with the Order to help her develop and control her abilities. Her parents agreed, grateful for the opportunity to have someone from their family make it out of there.
Now, Darcy is a fresh-faced and uncertain Padawan in the Silver Jedi Order. Among a nicer, more stable environment for the first time in her life, she's meeting people and seeing things that she never dreamed of before. The question is, however, does someone like her deserve something like all this?
TRAITS:
QUICK: Darcy is quite quick and speedy, able to act quickly in any situation. She can speed her way across any kind of battlefield and use her size to her advantage, making quick attacks or slipping away from the attempts of others. WIth further training of the Force to harness this, who knows how quick she could be?
CLEVER: Darcy is no fool and she'll make sure you know it. Whether it's her quick comments or her knack of picking up new concepts quickly, Darcy is a pretty clever girl, even if she's never particularly excelled in a normal educational setting. But hey, this setting is far from normal, right?
EAGER: Becoming a Jedi? Yeah, that's way more interesting and cool than whatever she had going back at home. She might miss her family a bunch, but she sure as heck knows that she's got more of future here than she did on Commenor. Darcy is super eager to learn everything she can about being a Jedi, whether it's how to act, how to fight or how to use her nascant powers.
LOUDMOUTH: Darcy's clever, quick and from a rougher background. It's almost certain that she's going to speak before she thinks properly. Darcy says things how they are, which usually means she ends up insulting someone, or seeming incredibly ungrateful. Sometimes people deserve it, other times... well, she didn't really mean it like that, honest.
FRUSTRATED: Darcy's gone through some big changes in her life. She's been taken away from what she knows to learn to be a Jedi. And a Jedi is some weird, spooky space wizard with a kooky religion. She wants to do well, wants to take this opportunity seriously and make something of herself... but it's hard. She has to fight against some of her angrier, quick-to-fight nature and be patient. Results will take time, time that she's not used to giving.
TROUBLEMAKER: It's not that she's bad or evil or anything... but she's not exactly the biggest stickler for the rules. She wants to do well and do good generally, but thinks nothing of bending rules if it suits what she wants to do. If things aren't going how she wants them to go, she'll try to fix that. And her way of fixing things usually involves a lot of sneaky business and a reckless disregard for the rules, herself and the role of a Jedi (in that order.) Also, breaking rules can be suuuper fun, don't be square.
ABILITIES:
Darcy's abilities are fairly new and she is inexperienced with them. As her proficiency grows and she learns more in her training, her abilities will be updated.
Force healing: Somewhat practised before her training
Psychometry: very latent, untapped
Telekinesis: Barely used, just starting to develop.
Scrappy Street Fighting: Fairly experienced against teenage opponents.
Rudimentary healing: Used bacta, stims and other common treatments to help others.
