Its members are feared within the Revenant, unpredictable and unknowable to the average man, They largely operate alone, requisitioning what resources they need from the Revenant to fulfill their given task. Sometimes they are given to the upper most echelons of the Revenant’s regime as guards, granting an otherwise unassuming figure a fearsome detail to express their authority.
Force-Sensitivity is fairly rare within the Revenant given its seclusive nature and penchant for cloning, but those that are found are not normally particularly powerful. For the most part, fully trained Acolytes are trained in a robust number of simplistic Force disciplines and applications, but hold little skill or power with them, being comparable to experienced Padawans or Acolytes. Hierarchy: The Dark Acolytes are a small sect, constantly vying for the Dark Master favor over one another. The Dark Master is worshipped, the key to gaining power is found through him and him alone. Darth Orthus acts as the head of the organization with his three apprentices falling directly subordinate to him.
The rest of the Acolytes fill in the remainder of the hierarchy in an ever shifting landscape determined only by the favor of the Dark Master, prompting rivalries and internal struggles within the organization, ensuring that only the most capable rise further. In practice he names a leader for missions and duties when pairs are forced to work alongside one another.
Membership: Members of the Dark Acolytes are Force-Sensitives taken from the Imperial Revenant and some found within the Rishii Maze and trained by the servants of the Dark Master in the ways of the Force. For the most part, Orthus does not travel the galaxy gathering random Force-Sensitive children he comes across, but instead what few he encounters directly he may bring into the fold to have them raised from youth as one of his assassins.
Throughout their young lives they are taught, trained, and indoctrinated, though only the basics of the Force. They spend most of their time learning using flash memory and training, becoming polyglots, taught espionage skills, investigation, and basic mundane combat in order to fulfill their role within the Revenant. While not cruel, their education is harsh and difficult, but the Order boasts that no failure has ever been recorded.
Doctrines: The Dark Acolytes follow a code of edicts passed down by the Dark Master, a bastardized version of the Sith Code. It is their belief that they must earn their place alongside the Sith and until that point they must follow a different set of ideals, as they remain lesser and unworthy until, by gaining Favor with their master, they might be Anointed by him and join the ranks of his Apprentices.

Service reigns above Power, through Service power is gained.
Defend the Domain the Master entrusts to you.
Death is to be embraced and honored when made in Service, deliver Death to the weak who are no longer of use to the Strong.

The Dark Acolytes are also expected to follow the laws of the Imperial Revenant, and remain secluded. They are forbidden from marriage or attachments outside their service to the Dark Master, unless he gives his approval. While rare, it is not unheard of, normally granted when such a mercy would serve a greater purpose than denying it.
Curios: Lightsabers are a rarity, forbidden within the Revenant with the exception of the Dark Master and his three Apprentices, and so even anointed members of the Acolytes wield weapons with Electro-Plasma Filament heads instead. Most of them wear dark robes over light, stealth based armor such as Shadowsuitshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Shadowsuit or Shadow Armor and use mundane weapons. A few might carry relatively simplistic Sith Swords or War Swords. Most carry a tamper-resistant Ghost-Wave Communicator.

They root out corruption and dissent from within, gather artifacts and servants from without, and eliminate potential rivals or threats on his orders. But this is all done in the hope that he will eventually grant them power. If one excels enough in their duties, it is taught that Darth Orthus will expand their potential and grant them a portion of his own strength, empowering them in the Force. To this end, the Acolytes serve.

The Order of the Dark Acolytes was founded shortly after the Imperial Revenant coalesced into its formal structure and organization as a way to control, regulate, and train the members of its populace that were Force Sensitive. In this manner, the dangerous Force Users who would otherwise be unable to serve the Revenant could be controlled by the Dark Master and put to use protecting the Imperials in the Rishii Maze under his tutelage. These Force Sensitives were kept secluded from the rest of the populace, their Force abilities making them dangerous until they could be taught control over their gifts and trained to serve the Revenant, for every member must contribute and they are no exception.
As the Revenant took to raiding, on rare occasion the Dark Master would encounter a Force Sensitive child and adopt them into the ranks of his Acolytes personally, much to the envy of those who were discovered by the bureaucrats of the Revenant from within its own ranks. As they Revenant evolved, so to did the responsibilities of the Order. They grew from a simple bureaucratic organization to regulate and train Force Users to a secret police, internal security, and intelligence agency, much like the Inquisitorious of the Galactic Empire mixed with aspects of the Imperial Security Bureau.
