The Dark Hunter Killer droids, otherwise known as the DHK, are the beginning of a new age of Assassin droids. By taking elements from two of the most well know advanced droids in the galaxy's history, Kalor-Tech has chosen to take a leap forward in their productions.
The DHK are similar to the HK droids of old in appearance and programming. Just like the originals, these have the same capabilities to be a protocol droid, but due to it's well known heritage they will never see such a use. In fact, the only reason they were programmed with so many languages was in case torture was needed. It would be useless if they didn't understand the information they were beating out of someone.
Due to Ferus's love of the original HK droids, these new ones speak similarly, stating what sort of sentence they would speak next right before speaking them. Similarly, they have what seems to be a love for violence and bloodshed. Unlike the originals however, these have chosen to name themselves similarly to the Clones of the clone wars era. Rather than call themselves DHK-01, they choose unique names biased on what they enjoy most.
Their entire form, from frame to chassis, is made purely of Phrik, something that was insisted upon after Darth Ferus read up on the Dark Trooper program. Droids made purely of such a powerful item was something he dreamed of, and as such it was made so.
To help make it far more effective at killing, it was given a number of upgrades. First and foremost, Micro Sensors allow it to see 360 degrees around itself, helping to prevent surprise attacks. On top of this, the droids photoreceptors were upgraded to allow thermal, night, and even UV vision. Lastly, it was given advance scanning protocols. While it seems odd at first, this allows the droid to either make sure it's target is dead, or still alive for interrogation if need be.
The droid is not without it's weaknesses however. Just like any other droid it is weak to Ion, EMP, and other such electrical attacks, as well as force abilities meant to destroy droids. On top of this, anyone who knows what an HK droid is would instantly recognize these ones, and it wouldn't be hard to assume what their function is for.
The droid was meant to be an all around fighter, however this can be changed with the replacement of the droids mods. The current and basic one is a jack of all trades program, allowing it to use pretty much any weapon it gets it's hands on, but it is far from the best with them. Future mods will be created.
