STRENGTHS
The Blades: Because of the synthetic crystals incorporated into the hilts, the blades run hotter allowing them to cut through materials quicker than traditional lightsaber blades. The blades, however, did not work in water. Also, the traditional lightsaber blade could temporarily short out upon contact with cortosis, these blades would slightly flicker, reducing thier cutting power in half, but did not short out.
Quick Attacks: With the hilts being of Songsteel, they are extremely light making the wielder, Mikilanna, strike and attack quickly and more efficiently.
WEAKNESSES
Fingerprint Recognition Scanner: Though built as a fail safe, allowing only for Mikilanna to use them, there is a drawback. Like the traditional lightsabers as where the activation stud is pressed, the blade immediately appears. However, with these two lightsabers, there is a five second delay for the scanner to read the patterns of her fingers before the blade or blades emerge.
DESCRIPTION
Mikilanna had no lightsaber of her own, outside the one of her former mentor. She felt what she possessed in terms of that weapon didn't reflect who she was. So she set out to construct not one, but two lightsabers. She originally had settled on using cortosis, but found the brittleness of the material to be unsatisfying. She thought of phrik, and didn't feel comfortable with it. What she wanted was a light and durable material, which she found in songsteel. As songsteel possessed it's own natural color, Mikilanna wanted something that provided a more exquisite look; hence the golden look.
Once the two weapons where constructed, she then created the two crystals that would eventually power them. With everything in order, she infused the crystals into the two hilts creating her weapons and meditated on a name. Because of her connection to the Goddess of Death, Kuolema, who is her patron deity from the Pa'kana religion; she crowned her weapons with the name of Dark Blessings of Kuolema.
