Dark Tides (Ravens mission on Antecedent

The-Dark-Temple.jpg
On the edge of Antecedent a force signature had been felt. It was growing day by day, minute by minute. Seat of power to the Red Ravens and their homeworld the Scarlet Legion, their ragtag collection of force warriors, was on the hunt.
No one knew exactly what or whom resided at the small enclave at the edge of Antecedent southern pole. the area was cold and icy, rent with snow. The darkness was almost absolute, receiving little sunlight. Rumor had it that a collection of Dark and rogue jedi frequented the place, holing up and training.
But for what?
Rumor also had it that they had been hoarding crystals and holocrons, bought and stolen from offworld. The Scarlet Legion then decided it was time to move on them, and take the rogues by surprise. Now a small contingent marches on the temple, preparing to eradicate all inside.....

Lisa pulled her cloak in tighter. the winds of antecedent swept the southern pole hard and the bone shattering cold seeped through the fabric of her clothes. Her teeth chattered and she could feel pain in every pore. But for Lisa pain was good, pain was an ally. It let you know you were still alive and fueld her gateway to the darkside....

"Anyone else feel that?"

An energy pulsed from a central point in waves. It had grown stronger since they had all left her ship, moving on foot up the slopes of a mountain towards it's peak. Wolves howled in the distance and she crouched low, readying her sniper rifle. Her breath crystallized in the dark night air, fogging the scope as she searched up ahead, looking for the next route up the icy canyons....

Yet another force using group, whoopie, because that is definitely what the galaxy needed more of. The Scarlet Legion didn't count obviously. They were just Red Ravens who also happened to be Force Users and had to ocassionally be at least pretend organized. Another force user group on the Red Ravens home turf though, that bore keeping an eye on. When it got out they were potentially hoarding crystals, holocrons and who knew what other goodies though? They stopped being a potential threat and became a target. Rule number one for living with criminals, don't have stuff they want.

They'd certainly made themselves inconvenient though, this was about her least favourite possible environment. The Twi'lek was a creature of hot dry deserts, not this windy, cold, snowy sithspit. She was not a fan. Plus the requisite wardrobe was horrid. No matter how much you spent, it still wasn't the height of fashion, and sensitive to cold as she was, Chiasa was almost unrecognisable under the layers, mittens, oversized scarf, hood and goggles. Definitely bulkier than she usually allowed. And the footwear! So clunky! And after all that she was still cold, huddled up with Xalus between her and the worst of the wind.

When Lisa spoke the Twi'lek stopped wallowing in misery and longing for the Casino and Anders bringing her a stiff drink and straightened up momentarily as she opened herself to the Force. She was still largely an instinctual user, lacking formal training, but this wasn't hard to pick up on. Maybe the rogues didn't know they were here, or maybe this as the welcoming committee, either way they weren't exactly hiding their presence.

"Yes."

She almost felt, turning her head slowly as though she were perceiving it with her physical senses, as if it could be triangulated, tracked back to its origin point.

"I guess we know how to find them.."

"Yes we do."

Lisa drew her own cloak even tighter and began to trudge up the path towards the peak. Surely they had something up there to be trying to conceal themselves so well? Nevertheless the power of their meditations continued to wash down the mountain. No doubt by now they were slowly becoming aware they weren’t the only force using folks in the area.

"Kezeroth, can you hide our force signatures?"

"Kezeroth, can you hide our force signatures?"

The Mutated Gen'Dai stood by with his arms crossed and laughed aloud at them. He wore his Bone Robe & Bone Helmet both hide his own Force presence but not theirs, what did he look like? Putting his Helmet on he Glanced at [member="Lisa Ticon"] and [member="Chiasa Kritivaas"]. " No.. The Taozin Hide on my Robe hides my own Force Presence but not yours..." he said chuckling and strapped his large Sith Sword on his back, mean while he loaded a new LJ-50 Concussion Rifle having it hum and glow blueish purple here and there. He as ready to take the Temple by Force he had no wish to hide others.

" I have no use for Force Sense Abilities..." Now he stood up right and nodded at them. He was ready to get going, those around him could tell he just wanted to blow stuff up and kill people.

“Sorry, Love. Can’t feel a thing.”

He was chilled to the bone. His muscles ached and his fingers felt like they no longer existed. His armor, kept him as warm as it could, but it was just standard flexi steel, nothing special about it. His Bekar would of served him much better today, but it sat on his ship, the same it had for the last decade, collecting dust and serving as a reminder of how things used to be.

He wasn’t entirely sure, how he ended up here, freezing his shebs off on some mountain, hunting rouge force users that, may or may not have what he was looking for. With people he neither knew nor trusted.

Lisa turned back and flashed a savage smile at Joran. Darkside energies seeped from her eyes as she locked her green orbs with his.

"No doubt meat bag! Keep your wits about you though, we are almost there!"

Lisa ignored Kezeroths comment. He was always so negative, so irritating. Kezeroth knew how to push her buttons well, and if not for the fact that his prowess far outstripped hers, she would have drawn on him.

As the group trudged further the snowstorm intensified until they could hardly see. The vibrations in the force grew stronger now. Lisa could feel a mix of dark and light storming over her like fire and ice simultaneously. As she neared the temple the snows began to clear and she almost gasped when she saw the sight.

It was an odd building, more resembling a castle than anything else. The central tower rose high into the sky and the walls were of gray stone and ice. There was but one gate and she could sense two watchmen standing tall. They were searching casting about for the groups location, tracking them by their signature.

"We're here." Lisa said dryly. The woman took a knee in the snow, closing her eyes and preparing herself. Memorise began to flow through her mind. First she recalled the orphanage. Headmaster gunthar and his savage beatings he had bestowed upon her for breaking the rules.

She recalled murdering her fellow orphans, suing the force to make " Accidents."

As she plunged into the darkness her signature began to grown pulsing a humming within every cell of her being, expanding across the snowy plains. Just as the last memory came to the fore and the beast within her stirred she felt a watchmen touch her with his mind.

He reeled in surprise as she unleashed a torrent of malevolence upon his mind, making fear rise to his fore. The mark was here, the time was now.

With no words Lisa opened her eyes and flung her cloak clear off, letting it fly away into the howling winds. Her Sniper rifle came up into her grip, shouldering perfectly. She lined up her shot, and squeezed ever so slowly. A fifty caliber round ripped from the silencer, all but unheard in the storm.

Pfft

Fro the parapet a single black silhoutte fell, streaming droplets of crimson in the white flurries. His body hit the ground with a dull thud and the temple lit up with sudden awareness...

"They know we're here. Kezeroth, take the gate, Jorun with me, we'll go up the wall, slaughter everyone!"

Lisa dropped her rifle to her sling, pulsing force energy into her limbs and began to run. Taking off faster than the eye could possibly follow, straight towards the icy stone walls.....

"Always so subtle."

Observed the Twi'lek as the other woman dashed off after taking out the watcher on the wall. It was always an education working with the other Ravens. Chiasa was a creature of subterfuge, strategy and stealth. Left on her own she would have infiltrated the cult and either simply left with everything of value, manipulated until they were all hers, or as a last resort she'd have assassinated them quietly. This whole storming the gates business was not her style. Xalus would likely have fun though. Eyeing the castle she reflected briefly on it's commercial merits if it survived this skirmish. Turn every chance and every opportunity to your favour. Some idiots liked this sort of weather, thought it was an adventure. Yes, she could market this as a destination. If it didn't get levelled of course, which seemed unlikely with this particular group of Ravens involved. Ah well.

"Shall we just front door? I don't particularly feel up to climbing in all these layers. I suppose you could toss me up if necessary, but I'd rather not."

She commented to Xalus. Of course Kezeroth had also been set loose at the gates, but he had the feeling of one who may or may not do what he was told. She was also aware of tension on Xalus' part towards Kezeroth though he'd not said anything yet. He may have been her bodyguard but she thought of him as her partner and noted even the smallest tells in his body language. Whatever the issue was, surely they could both be content with aiming any of their hostilities at the enemy force users.

Paying attention to the wavering consciousness still on guard, she walked towards the gate. Running seemed a lot of work and in any case it took enough effort not to waddle in all her gear. Probably the remaining watcher would be more concerned about the woman who'd shot his, or her, partner. If not she'd trust to the force and Xalus to keep her safe.
