Private Dark Visions

Vera nervously traveled up the turbo lift to the Council Chambers and fidgeted with the sleeves of her robes. The Temple felt empty, even though most Jedi had stayed behind to fight for it. But without younglings and Padawans moving around, it just felt different. Vera herself probably shouldn't still be at the Temple either, but she was only visiting to discuss something with Jasper.

Something related to her vision.

This particular one had sparked on Onderon when she investigated something with Aris Noble Aris Noble . She had told Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble about it as well, but she couldn't ask her father for help with this. It was too personal and she knew how much it'd affect him.

This vision was about Mom — about her death.

With a gentle hiss, the turbolift settled within the chambers, and Vera stood silently at its very center. Her multi-colored eyes focused on Jasper, who she always loved to see and mess around with. Today, however, she looked at him with concern, "Knight Kai'el," she began with just a gentle smile. "Thank you for taking the time to meet with me."

"There's something that's bothering me and I really need advice and help with it."

"Just call me Jasper," the knight insisted. "Tell me what's eatin' you, kid."

He had always had a bit of a soft spot for Vera since he had gone to free her from the clutches of her grandfather. They were a good kid, usually pretty carefree. It was pretty clear that whatever it was that they were concerned about was something serious. Jasper had his guesses for what was wrong. It could be a vision. Vera was a seer after all. It made sense that something seen in a dream could have her in a bit of a panic. He'd just have to wait and see.

"I'll do what I can to help."

"I saw a vision of Mom dying."

She blinked at her own bluntness, but this was no time to sugarcoat anything. These visions had been returning to her both at day and night, over and over again. They weren't the same each time, as the future remained in motion, but the conclusion of each one was the same. She saw the lifeless body of her Mother.

Even thinking about it now made her hands tremble again.

"I saw his face. Darth Solipsis Darth Solipsis ," Vera continued with a frown. "I saw his Sith, his Dark Jedi, his monsters... I saw planets burning and people screaming and crying. I saw us fighting back, both winning and losing, but every vision I saw about this war ended the same way."

"I saw my Mom dead."

"That... is alarming."

Valery dying would have untold consequences. This wasn't taking into his account his own emotions surrounding the Jedi Master. After all, she was the closest thing he had to a consistent master while he was a padawan, and a role model he looked up to with the highest respect. Combined with the mention of Solipsis...

"The comfort is that visions are not set in stone," Jasper noted. "They are probible futures, and sometimes the full picture isn't seen. It's... difficult to tackle these sorts of things without setting what we want to avoid into motion. Sometimes it's that action that causes it."

But at the same time, they couldn't just do nothing, right? It was difficult to say for certain what was the appropriate way to handle this revelation. Jasper had his own ideas in the moment, but those were known to be...

...perhaps a bit extreme by most standards.

"I... understand what its like to see those kinds of things," he noted with a somber tone. "Dreams of people you love... suffering terribly. Mine wasn't a prophetic vision, but it was no less real when I saw it. Its not a burden that is easily carried..."

A gentle sigh escaped his lips.

"I promise I'll do everything in my power to help."
