Darkside Factions

Just a quick question since I've noticed a lot of different Darkside factions. Is there any real difference between them in terms of motivation and/or goal? Mainly because I'm planning on a future Darkside character and would like to determine where they stand with why they're training in such ways.

[member="ScarletSilver"], the First Order's the best.

No, JK.

Anyway, I would recommend reading each of the Factions home page to see what one fits best. For instance a character that may work for the Sith might not work in the FO.

There are a few variations. Most of it has to do with the distribution of power.

I can't and won't speak for anyone else, but I can talk about the First Order.

The Knights of Ren, the First Order's dark side users are group completely loyal to its Supreme Leader. They are lawful sorts, upholding the autocratic vision of the Galactic Empire. Ideologically, they are fellow travellers of the Sith, but they run themselves in a way that ensures that they don't squabble as much as their Sith cousins.

They also more so act as a elite sort of intelligence group, travelling around the Galaxy, doing their masters bidding. Probably butchered this, but [member="Castor Ren"] or [member="Darth Veles"] could probably give you a better run down.

Dark side factions are largely based not on the Dark side but on ideology. You find the one that is closest to your character concept and run with it.

It is largely why Vengeance here has not been in a Faction for about 6 months.

I guess that's true. I saw the same difference between the Jedi in the Galactic Alliance and the Silver Jedi. I guess that'll help determine what sort of darksider I'd use.

Although just curious how your character works as an exile?

Being a faction less exile allows me in this instance to pick and choose actions largely consequence free. I can train who I want, associate with who I want, and attack or not attack whomever I want.

While it means not having quite as many thread opportunities with out faction Dominions, Skirmishes, and Invasions popping up daily I still get pretty good activity out of him.

The Imperial Remnant is a rather evil, far more so than the First Order, but it's ideology publicly is not the dark side, as our Imperial Knights are sort of neutral-ish. But we do have a secret force sect called the Imperial Inquisitorius that is extremely dark side.
