Character
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Dacian carries a tall and athletic yet slender frame, a balance between both grace and power. Long, jet-black hair falls shoulder length in loose strands, often tied up in differing manners to allow a clear picture for his eyes, the color of which stays at a shade of crimson. Upon his left eye runs a diagonal scar, while not permanently blinding him, it often remains closed as leaving it open causes minor irritation. This scar was left to him as a souvenir from combat early in his life as a Sith. Dacian also has scars along his face and body accompanying this one, dotting along his body in differing places.
Dacian's choice of attire is a simple pair of robes with bandages wrapped at the lower half of his torso and along the entirety of each of his arms. The robes flow freely, designed for ease of movement, and are accented with subtle Sith markings in deep crimson. While most Sith Warriors often clad themselves in heavy armor, Dacian's clothing choices reflects his confidence in his own skills as well as a statement, effectively saying he does not need armor in order to fight effectively. Aside from this, Dacian can often be seen wearing different variations that fit within the style of his go-to outfit.
INVENTORY
- A pair of custom lightsabers (WIP) that are currently in a state of disrepair.
- A stock standard lightsaber, an early creation from the days of his apprenticeship.
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Darth Dacian lives by a strict code of honor, an unusual trait for a Sith. He believes that a true Sith is measured not by the external power they amass or the deceit they employ but by their own personal strength of arms. For him, combat is the ultimate test of character, and relying on anything other than one's own mastery diminishes the value of victory.
This philosophy shapes every aspect of his approach to battle. Dacian carries each fight with honor, allowing his foes the opportunity to meet him in combat on equal terms. He abhors stealth and ambush tactics, resorting to them only when absolutely necessary. Even in moments of triumph, he often grants clemency to those who prove their strength or potential, viewing mercy not as a weakness but as the ultimate show of control over life and death.
Dacian carries himself with an air of calm stoicism, exuding confidence and nobility. He speaks with a polite dialect, slow and methodical with an air of practiced formality. This noble demeanor extends to his interactions with his enemies. He is unfailingly polite, even in moments of intense conflict, often addressing his foes with respect even if the gesture is not returned in kind. Despite this politeness, he is as ruthless as any other Sith Lord, more than capable of doing what needs to be done even if death must be dealt in measure.
Beneath this air of nobility, however, lays the groundwork for which his personality and goals stand upon: A savage edge and unmatched love for combat. Dacian's goals to better himself has been twisted by the Darkside into an addiction, a craving that can only be sated by combat and all things related to it. This part of him ultimately lead to his reclusion from the politics of the Sith, his fixation on bettering his bladework coming to the detriment of other aspects a Sith Lord would normally tend to.
STRENGTHS
Legendary Martial Savant
In terms of pure skill with the Lightsaber, Dacian's bladework dares to cross into the thresholds of the old masters. With total command of all seven forms, Dacian is one of the greatest swordsmen produced by either the Sith or Jedi order. From his first sparring session, his master recognized his extraordinary potential, and Dacian quickly mastered the foundational lightsaber forms before ascending to unparalleled levels of mastery. His lightsaber expertise alone defines his era, with techniques and precision that leave a lasting mark on the Force itself. While his lightsaber prowess is his focus, Dacian also displays exceptional skill with a variety of other weapons, including exotic and unconventional melee tools, different types of saber weapons, and martial arts. Though not as proficient in these areas as he is with a lightsaber, his level of competence still falls well within the realm of expertise. He has taken a passing interest in these skills as a contingency for being disarmed of his sabers.
Pinnacle of Physical and Mental Conditioning
As an Epicanthix, Dacian benefits from his species' natural advantages, including enhanced physical strength, endurance, and reflexes. These traits, combined with years of grueling training, have rounded out his fitness near to its natural limit. Even without the Force, Dacian's athleticism is extraordinary, and often disguised by his slender frame.Epicanthix are also renowned for their innate mental resilience, particularly their incredible resistance to mental manipulation through the Force. This natural defense renders Dacian resistant to mind tricks, illusions, and other psychic intrusions.
WEAKNESSES
Saber Purist
Dacian's devotion to lightsaber combat has become a self-imposed limitation. He forgoes many advanced Force abilities, deeming them unnecessary. Although he has trained to an adequate proficiency with the standard selection of Sith abilities, Dacian has purposely built a subconscious mental wall that keeps him from using such during combat. In Dacian's mind, neglecting the refinement of such abilities is a necessary sacrifice to elevate his bladework to unparalleled heights, surpassing even the highest standards expected of his station. While he uses the Force to bolster his physicality and resist psychic attacks, the narrowing of his innate arsenal leaves him vulnerable to opponents who exploit a broader range of Force powers as well as more unorthodox and indirect combat doctrines.Code of Honor
Dacian's adherence to an internal code of honor often places him at a disadvantage. He refuses to strike unprepared opponents or employ stealth, believing such tactics to be beneath a true warrior. This honor also stems from his desire to enjoy combat at its peak intensity, often putting much at risk for the thrill of a worthy fight. While this honor is admirable, it has at times spilled into absurdity, to the point where Dacian would handicap himself or hold back in order to derive more pleasure in a fight.Lack of Political Acumen and Assets
Dacian's skills in political scheming and negotiation are severely underdeveloped. He struggles to make deals or leverage assets beyond his own abilities. Building alliances and navigating Sith politics are areas of profound difficulty for him, often leaving him at a disadvantage when dealing with rivals or peers who thrive in intrigue.Dacian's years of isolation have left him disconnected from the Sith Order's power structure. While his personal strength is undeniable, his lack of allies, apprentices, and resources diminishes his standing within the overall hierarchy. Many view him as an eccentric outsider, his skills only truly comprehended by a handful of individuals. Dacian's drive to improve is fueled by self fulfillment, having little care of his reputation until now which has hindered the growth of it, having been careless on whether or not word of his deed has spread.
HISTORY
Darth Dacian was born into a warrior clan of the Epicanthix on Panatha. As a race defined by martial prowess and strength, Dacian was a quick study in learning the ways of his people. He grew a liking to the art of war, discerning himself even among the most elite of warriors among his clan. As he reached adolescence, Dacian's abilities drew the attention of a Sith Lord visiting Panatha in search of promising recruits. Recognizing his potential, the Sith offered Dacian an opportunity to leave his homeworld and pursue a greater destiny. Drawn by the allure of testing his skills on a galactic scale, Dacian accepted, leaving behind his clan and stepping onto the path of the Sith.
Dacian's transition into Sith training was seamless. His master quickly identified his natural affinity for lightsaber combat during their first sparring sessions, seeing in him the raw talent of a future legend. Dacian mastered the foundational forms with stunning speed, and his growth continued to exceed even his master's high expectations. His natural resilience and disciplined demeanor set him apart from his peers, but his singular focus on combat also began to define him in ways his master had not anticipated.
Over time, Dacian's obsession with perfecting his martial skills led him to neglect other aspects of Sith training, particularly those involving politics and sorcery. He became reclusive, devoting himself entirely to lightsaber mastery and engaging in combat only to further test his limits. While his peers jockeyed for position within the Sith hierarchy, Dacian withdrew, spending years in isolation honing his craft.
This reclusive lifestyle came at a cost. By the time Dacian re-emerged, he had little influence or standing among the Sith Order. His name was known only to those who had witnessed his strength of arms firsthand, and his lack of allies and resources left him at a disadvantage in the Order's power struggles.
