HISTORY
Nulgath Zardai, also known as Darth Immortuos, was born on the rugged world of Panatha, a native Epicanthix with a mind as sharp as his blade. His youth was spent among the tribal warlords and elite families of his homeworld, learning discipline, martial arts, and honing his innate resistance to mental manipulation. By the age of 30, his potential had not gone unnoticed, and he was chosen to join the One Sith in 835 ABY, a time when the Sith were resurging from the shadows. He left behind the warrior culture of Panatha, diving headfirst into the ruthless training that awaited him on Korriban. As an acolyte, Nulgath quickly stood out, earning a reputation as a prodigy. While many of his peers focused on raw combat prowess or brute strength, Nulgath's talents lay in the arcane arts of the Dark Side. He was naturally gifted in Sith sorcery and Force lightning, able to conjure storms of crackling energy with precision and fury. More than a mere combatant, Nulgath was a bookworm, devouring every ancient text, holocron, and Sith scroll he could get his hands on. He studied Sith history and philosophy with a fervor that bordered on obsession, often spending nights alone in the dusty archives of the Sith Academy.
His mind processed the arcane in a way few others could: to him, Sith sorcery was like a symphony, with threads of power and energy weaving around him as if they were part of some grand cosmic orchestra. Nulgath became its conductor, and the Dark Side, his music. This unique perspective allowed him to unlock powers beyond the reach of most Sith, blending sorcery and lightning in ways that mystified even his masters.
Nulgath's rise to prominence within the One Sith was meteoric. He gained notoriety in the bloody tournaments held to test acolytes, where he ruthlessly dispatched his rivals. His prowess was further honed through participation in several skirmishes and invasions against the Jedi Order and a revived Galactic Republic. It was through these battles that his mastery over the Force grew sharper, and after countless victories, he was bestowed the rank of Sith Knight. However, with this new rank came arrogance—Nulgath's hunger for knowledge and power became insatiable.
During his relentless pursuit of ancient Sith wisdom, Nulgath stumbled upon the writings of Darth Ruin, a Sith who rejected the very structure of the Sith Empire. The philosophy of Ruin resonated deeply with him, fueling a growing disillusionment with the One Sith's rigid hierarchy. Nulgath became more secretive, hoarding knowledge for himself, rejecting the bonds of loyalty he once felt for the Sith. His ambition knew no bounds, but his obsession with acquiring knowledge began to consume him.
In 844 ABY, when the Emperor of the One Sith was murdered by his apprentice in full public view, the Sith Empire was thrown into chaos. While many were shaken, Nulgath saw this as a reminder of the Dark Side's cruel reality: power begets power, and only those who can seize it will survive. It was a warning. For years, he searched for a way to increase his power, but every method he attempted failed. His hunger for more drove him deeper into madness—until he found it.On the stormy world of Fresia, in a forsaken Sith temple known as the Temple of Pain, Nulgath unearthed an ancient tome detailing a forbidden ability known as Force Walk. The technique allowed the user to bind the spirits of long-dead Sith Lords to themselves, siphoning their power and knowledge. But it came at a steep price: those who attempted it would eventually suffer from spiritual degradation and bodily decay. Nulgath, blinded by ambition, believed it was a risk worth taking.
The temple was well-guarded, and Nulgath knew he couldn't simply take the tome and leave. He orchestrated a coup, selling out the location of the Temple of Pain to the Jedi Order and Mandalorians. When the joint forces attacked and destroyed the temple, Nulgath used the chaos as a perfect cover to slip away with the tome in hand, disappearing into the shadows of the galaxy. His betrayal left the One Sith in ruin, and for years he was thought lost—until his sudden return in 851 ABY.By this time, a new Sith Empire had risen from the ashes of the One Sith, but Nulgath, now a shadow of his former self, trusted no one. His obsession with immortality consumed him, as the effects of Force Walk began to ravage his body. The spirits he had bound to himself clawed at his very soul, and the Dark Side's corruption twisted his flesh. He had become a walking corpse, his body failing despite the vast power he held. Wars raged between the various factions of the galaxy, but Nulgath remained in the background, conducting experiments and seeking the key to halting his inevitable demise. By 864 ABY, he had dubbed himself Darth Immortuos, fully embracing his new identity as a Sith obsessed with cheating death. His body was corpse-like, skeletal, and pale, but somehow, through sheer will, he clung to life. His final solution lay in a ritual he discovered deep within the Sith archives—a ritual to summon The Sickness, a plague that would give him immortality. To solidify his eternal life, he would need to consume the heart of a Jedi.
After years of preparation, Nulgath was ready to complete the ritual. However, fate played a cruel hand. The final sacrifice required the heart of someone dear to him. In a moment of tragic clarity, Nulgath realized that the only fitting sacrifice was his wife, a woman he had loved in the brief moments when he had not been consumed by his hunger for power. Her death was inevitable—he rationalized it as a necessary step in his ascension. In cold blood, he carved out her heart and consumed it, raw and dripping with life force. With that, The Sickness took hold of his body, but it was no longer a curse—it was under his control. Nulgath Zardai, now fully transformed into Darth Immortuos, had finally achieved his twisted form of immortality. Though his body was a husk, corrupted and rotting, he lived, fueled by the Dark Side and his mastery over the dead. Immortuos was no longer just a Sith seeking power—he had become the embodiment of the Dark Side's cruel promise: eternal life at the cost of everything he once held dear.
