Clingy: This Lightsaber's essence is extremely possessive of Laertia and will not allow her to use any other weapons when it is on her person, causing them to burn her hand if she tries to touch them.
Squick factor: Its the Lightsaber that helped kill and dismember her parents. Laertia would only use this blade if left with no other choice. Or unless she encountered its maker...
DESCRIPTION
Darth Phyre was one of the single worst, most depraved murderers of The Gulag Plague. The highly sadistic SithSpawn spared none, old or young in her rampages to glorify The Dark Side. Driven in part by the same madness that destroyed her Jedi self, T'sid Surt'r, Phyre spent the majority of The Gulag not just slaughtering or torturing the innocent, but also looking for a prophesied champion she saw leading their cult to greatness and the eternal dominance of the Bogan, though in light of recent events and revelations there is genuine doubt as to how much this assertion was genuine prophecy and how much was simply convenient and wishful thinking carried over from half remembered fragments of her life as T'sid. Phyre however did succeed in at least tracking her down, actually getting within mere meters of her after brutally dispatching and dismembering her parents, Morris and Lysandra Crownwraithe, who valiantly defended their child to the bitter end. Phyre was stopped by the Jedi Master Moya De Lifte (in secret a Light Side Sith Lord named Darth Themis), who used powerful magics to simulate a slow hyperspace jump on the ship the infant Laertia was on, sending her three hundred years into the future.
The corrupted version of this was located in an ancient chamber on Coruscant, There was no indication of who placed it there, but Laertia felt it call to her during a trip to the planet, and purified it, not understanding the connection or why it called to her, unable to feel its history due to her brain damage. When Themis informed her of what she had found, Laertia was so horrified she has kept it under lock and key, desiring more than anything to destroy it, but unable to due to the fact this has object played such a life altering part in the course of her own existence, as well as an unconscious bond to it that is now, unfortunately, too strong to sever.
