Darth Solipsis, born Kaigann Fossk, and also known simply as the Dark Voice, is a human male Dark Lord of the Sith and Voice of the Maw. Born from nobility into the prominent Fossk Dynasty in and raised as a Jedi in the restored Galactic Republic, the Epochian fought in numerous conflicts from engagements with Graug of Gratos, the war against One Sith, to the mysterious emergence of the Primeval cult. The young Jedi was a rising star in the early Ession Reformation as apprentice to Jedi Knight turned Archlord Cyril Grayson. Kaigann was trained by the best of the budding order, with notable teachers such as
Feena
and
The Dark Man
and helped secure the foundations of the Reformation before falling prey to the One Sith. On the eve of battle breaking and falling to the Dark Side of the Force under the psychic influence of the then Dark Lord of the One Sith. Kaigann betrayed his friends and family, slaying his comrades before engaging in a heated duel with his best friend and long time master where he was saved from the Dark Lord’s influence.
Seeking redemption, Kaigann voluntarily surrendered his lightsaber and undertook the Barash Vow, entering into self-imposed exile. Braving the untamed Wild Space and boldly exploring the dangerous Unknown Regions, Kaigann sought to find himself and strengthen his connection to the Force. He would seldom return to the galaxy at large, occasionally returning to Cyril to aid his friend in his endeavors before the birth of Cedric Grayson . Named godfather of the youthful Essionian heir, Kaigann would return to Ession and settle for a time as he took on a role as the youth's uncle. Plagued with visions of the past, longing to escape the incessant nightmares, he would eventually leave Ession once more returning to his homeworld of Epoch where he finally build roots and settle down. It was here he met and married an unknown female Firrerreon, siring twins by the names of Saan'an Gaelor and Jem Fossk who took after both their mother and father. The nightmares left him, he found the peace he'd always dreamed of.
It wouldn't last. Agents of the Sith, conspirators of the wealthy Epochian elite, under the cover of night raided the Epochian homestead while the former Jedi was offworld. Seeking to break the Jedi and send a message to Ession for it’s interference in Epochian affairs, the assailants brutally murdered Kaigann’s wife and kidnapped his children. Saan’an and Jem were carted off to Coruscant and their home set ablaze, Kaigann returned to witness the horrifying remains of his once happy family. He broke, the final straw drawn. Tracking down the culprits, Kaigann openly gave himself over to the Dark Side of the Force and slaughtered those responsible. Uncovering the depths of corruption seeded within the planetary government, Kaigann realized that the Dark Side could not be defeated only harnessed and controlled. You were predator or prey, and so he made a solemn vow, he would become the force of change he sought to be in his youth and change the face of the galaxy so no father would suffer the sacrifice of his wife and children or friend and brothers-in-arms. Everything he knew had been ripped from him, his life, his friends, his family all gone.
Kaigann left Epoch and scoured the galaxy for knowledge. Delving deep into the secrets of the Force, embracing the teachings of many Force sects in order to attain power. The scholar found many parallels with Sith ideology, realizing that to gain the power to change the galaxy he needed their strength, their secrets had to become his. Adopting the Sith moniker of ‘Solipsis’, the experienced scholar scoured the galaxy for Sith knowledge. Few planets hosting his presence before moving on to the next in search of arcane lore and lost histories. Coveting secrets and jealously guarding them, Solipsis met with few in person, becoming a recluse under the guise of a mystic seer known as ‘Laevus’. Intelligent, wise, charismatic, and equally sinister Laevus was shown to be narcissistic, cruel, arrogant, and prone to rash acts of anger. His pursuit of power and knowledge led him to establishing a deep connection with the Dark Side of the Force, ever the metamorphosist, Solipsis molded his own body in search of achieving a physical and spiritual perverted nirvana. His pursuit of absolute power became an obsession, devoting himself fully to the Sith ideology. Kaigann bore scars extended across his person from shoulder to shoulder from his experience in the Vong's Embrace of Pain. This pain had not eroded, nor lessened and served as both a boon to augment his hatred and detriment to the body that began to suffer under the weight of the Dark Side’s corrosive touch. Due to his frail, failing body, Laevus found he was becoming not the capable warrior he once was. He relied more and more on his abilities in the Force and connection to the Dark Side heavily to lash out at enemies and more than ever feared for the completion of his great work, of his GRAND PLAN.
Returning to Ession, Solipsis saved Heinrich Faust from certain death as the Sith Empire rained fire on the ecumenopolis, purging all who dwelt on the planet below in a planetary genocide that marked the end of the Essionian Dominion. Taking the Force-sensitive as his apprentice, Solipsis sought to carry on what he had learned through the future Blade of Ession but he was betrayed. The youth returned to the Jedi and abandoned the ways of the Sith, finding faith in the Ashla after realizing the depths of Solipsis’s plan and the untold deaths it would cause. The Sith Master abandoned his schemes in the known galaxy and returned to the Unknown Regions where he found the Hidden Maw cult. There in the dark recesses of the Unknown Regions, he sowed the seeds for the birth of the Brotherhood of the Maw, rising to power as the Voice of the Maw, their supreme prophet and ruling voice of their deities.
As the Brotherhood gained power and prominence they wiped out all in their path, purging world after world under the beliefs of a better future fueled by the dark sermons of Darth Solipsis and his Heathen Priests. They were opposed early in their conquests by the New Jedi Order led by Ryv , soon combating the Galactic Alliance and combined forces of the galaxy proper after constructing a planet-killing weapon known as Mercy. Reunited with his ‘nephew’ Cedric Grayson , Solipsis attempted to turn his godson to the Dark Side but was refuted and fought to a standstill. The Chiss Homeworld of Csilla was destroyed, and the Brotherhood subsequently unleashed upon the galaxy with the onset of the Second Great Hyperspace War. Darth Solipsis and his then apprentice Maestus subsequently entered the Sith Schism by aligning themselves with the Warlords of the Sith. Believing the Sith had become bloated, fat, and weak the Sith Master devised a way to end the wasteful conflict and rebuild the Sith from the ground up but first.. it needed to be destroyed.
Within the bowels of Fortress Vader on the volcanic world of Mustafar, the Elder summoned the likes of all the galaxy’s Sith factions for a Great Gathering. It was here the Dark Voice made his announcement, following in the footsteps of Darth Bane, the Sith declared himself Dark Lord of the Sith and openly called for a Sith Purge. A culling began that gave birth to the New Sith Order, subsequently strikes on Felucia and Thule destroyed the Sith Eternal’s power structure and split the Sith Empire in two. Facing down the most powerful Sith the galaxy had to offer, the Dark Lord and his New Sith shattered the Old Sith Order ending the Sith Schism in the closing days of the Third Imperial Civil War. The only task remaining was finding a suitable heir, a Shadow Hand powerful enough to command the New Sith Order and bring it into the galaxy to come, in this he finally found what he had been searching for in the form of the Carlaci Lord Halketh. After a length duel on Ilum, the Dark Voice swayed the New Imperial warlord to the Sith after nearly falling prey to the powerful darksider's abilities. They proceeded to hunt down survivors of the purge and reclaimed the ancient Sith redoubt of Exegol as their own. It was here on the barren world where the Dark Voice was proclaimed the second coming of the Sith’ari by Darth Vinaze , the prophecy being fulfilled to the letter by the Dark Lord after destroying the Sith and rebuilding them. Soon after, during the Great Battle of Korriban, the Dark Lord uncovered the long coveted secret of alter reality, purging the limitations of his body by restoring his physical form to his prime.
As the Second Great Hyperspace War raged on, the machinations of the New Sith Order and the Brotherhood of the Maw bore fruit. The Carlaci Lord Halketh assassinated the New Imperial Imperator Irveric Tavlar and raised Carlac into open rebellion against the Empire, he was officially christened Halketh and named Dark Lord of the Sith as the official Shadow Hand of Darth Solipsis. The Sith'ari developed a personal feud against the Lord Executor Rurik Fel after numerous engagements with the leader of the Imperial Knights turned Emperor, one such engagement leading to the death of Silver Jedi Grandmaster Kiara Ayres at the hands of the Dark Lord. Further more, the infiltration of the Galactic Senate and seeds planted spread doubt between the senatorial body and the New Jedi Order. Manipulating the senate into locking down the New Jedi Order, the Dark Lord was quick to order the Brotherhood into action. They struck at Jakku, destroying the Hidden Enclave of Jedi Master Romi Jade and pushed deep into the Core Worlds where they struck Coruscant herself.Sacking the Queen of the Core, the Brotherhood of the Maw relentlessly assaulted the ecumenopolis while the New SIth Order led by Halketh marched on the New Jedi Temple. The Circle, the leadership of the New Jedi Order, confronted the Dark Voice in the Senate Building alongside the Iron Imperator and several other prominent Jedi Masters.
