Daughter of a Lord (Vengeance)

Old Sith Assassin's Hideout
Asajj stood at the ruined entrance of the old hideout, her back against the rocky wall whilst her foot tapped against the sand. Her eyes squinted across the beach as she crossed her arms. It was clear she was impatiently waiting for someone. That someone was apparently an old friend of her fathers, the word 'friend' being used loosely as she didn't believe he had any real friends. The fact he could kill his own wife without hesitation made that clear to her. In fact it was his cruelty that drove her away from being involved with the Sith.

Ever since losing her own partner though Asajj felt forced to return to her learning so that she could somewhat avenge him. Whether that would even be possible remained to be seen, but for now she focused on finding some help. By diving into her father's records and belongings dotted between various Assassin hideouts, she managed to find a few people who could help.

One had simply been labelled "[member="Vengeance"]".

Vengeance had been surprised to get the message. Mostly because he had no clue who the person was and the wordage was clear that it had not come from Mephirium or any of his stooges. On a whim he decided to investigate this particular location.

He left Anya back at home taking a civilian shuttle instead as far as they would take him. He didn't go right up to the hideout though. He spent a bit of time scouting the area and watching for a little bit before he finally approached the figure on the beach. His hood pulled over his head, his saber clipped to his belt, the fighting blade concealed in it's sheath on his back. Other than being a lone he was as prepared for anything as he could be.

"You waiting on some one child?" "Your impatience rolls off of you like a heat wave."

Vengeance smiled under the hood.

"So why have you called he here little one?" "Do I owe you money, or have you come to collect the price on my head." "It has been so long I didn't think anyone remembered." "Plus all but one of the groups who took out the bounties no longer exist so getting paid is going to be difficult."

[member="Asajj"]

Asajj finally let her arms drop when the man approached, examining his hooded figure with her bright pink eyes. Twice within a minute he called her 'little' and 'child', yet she pushed her annoyance on that to the back of her mind. Instead she allowed him to finish speaking before flashing her own small smirk.

"Waiting for a 'Vengeance'." She replied as her hands joined behind her back and she leaned over in a childish manner, peering up to see if she could discern an appearance from under the man's hood. Whether or not she saw anything there'd be nothing to recognise, but that she didn't know.

"My name's Asajj, Daughter of Ferus and-" Her voice stopped for a moment, considering her next word. Valtryx had been branded a traitor to the Sith and her other name, Minna, had stood on the Republic's Jedi Council. Neither one put Asajj in a good light with another Sith. By the time she decided what to say she had said nothing at all, simply adding. "Darth Ferus, basically."

Quickly her back straightened up, still meaning she had to look up to meet the man's eyes. From there she gave an almost innocent smile, awaiting to see the response which would hopefully be that they were good friends.

Or whatever her father called friends...

[member="Vengeance"]

"Daughter of who?"

Vengeance cocked his head to the side.

For a few minutes watched her body language and mannerism slightly amused by them though no discern able reaction could be seen to give it away. The fact she suddenly straightened was even more amusing to him. Vengeance smirked watching the myriad of reactions the girl gave.

"Tell me little what crimes have you committed to be worthy of vengeance. Surely a sweet child such as you couldn't be a hardened criminal."

[member="Asajj"]

"Who?! Darth Ferus!" The girl frowned heavily at him in reply, her arms waving in unison to her rant. "Leader of the Assassins, Darkness Incarnate, blah blah blah. He was the Hand or Eye or... some other body part of the Dark Lord..." Once she'd run out of ways to describe her father she locked her pink gaze directly onto him.

"Trust me, I'm no sweet child mister." Asajj retorted in a harsh tone, although her high pitched voice made it quite an ironic statement.

"I've fought Sith and Jedi. I've left opponents bleeding, I've turn buildings to dust with explosions!" The more she spoke of her deeds the more insane she began to sound, before suddenly she returned to a more neutral tone.

"But you're telling me you haven't heard of my father?" She sighed with an offward glance into the distance.

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance chuckled.

"Have you now child?"

So this rumored child of Ferus who knew about the man and shared none of his characteristics of his considered herself a consummate killer. He wasn't convinced. Vengeance slowly reached under his hooded cloak and into the sheath on his back removing the tactical fighting blade. Once it was free he held it blade pointed at the ground by his own foot.

"Show me little one..........show me how deadly you are."

[member="Asajj"]

Asajj's only reply was a grumble of anger. How dare this man not believe her. How dare he question her accomplishments. In her annoyance she couldn't sense whether this man was powerful with the force or not and right now the thought didn't cross her mind. She'd been challenged and she wasn't going to let him mock her.

Pulling herself together and remembering the lessons on anger she'd had, one of the few her 'father' had given her even if it was only the shadow of him, she brought out her lightsaber and ignited it's red blade. With her eyes locked on the man her expression turned to a manic grin. The madness began to take hold.

"I'll show you!"

Suddenly the girl leaped forward with aide of the force, unleashing two swift yet unfocused strikes from the left and right. Once delivered her legs would turn and pushed her aside, hoping to change position before the man could retaliate. Even as an Acolyte she'd learned to never stop moving when utilising Ataru.

[member="Vengeance"]

Under the hood Vengeance smiled getting the exact response he had expected to get. He remained perfectly clam waiting until the girl leaped he simple opened his free hand briefly pulling back he thrust it forward pushing with the Force aimed at her Chest to slam her back to her original position. It was a flaw all Acolytes shared. When they were angered they didn't think, they didn't plan, they simply lashed out.

This self professed expert in murder was in fact just another Acolyte with a god complex. It made him wonder if she really was the daughter of Ferus. Then reaching down into the Force to make him faster Vengeance at full speed literally ran circles around Asajj but he didn't stop there. After he started circling her more of him popped up also circling her. A totally of five of him circled her at full speed.

"How deadly you are little one..................how deadly you are little one.....................how deadly you are little one."

They repeated it over and over as if on a continuous loop. Would she be able to figure it out.............would she be able to counter it................would she be able to stop the threat.

[member="Asajj"]

Asajj flew back to her starting position, grasping her chest after it had taken the brunt of the push. There she stood half-slumped to recover her breathe, too slow to anticipated the running of the man. In circles he appeared in multiple positions around her causing her to divide her vision between every angle. Now she was beyond annoyed.

"How deadly you are little one..................how deadly you are little one.....................how deadly you are little one."

The words bombarded her mind constantly, threatening another outburst with her blade. Yet nothing came. Instead she breathed out deeply, remembering fully the lesson her father's shadowy alter ego had given. Her emotions shouldn't control her, she should harness them. The blade of her lightsaber retracted into its hilt and she lowered her hands. With another breath she focused on the force and her emotions, channeling them as she'd been taught.

Then, with the taunting words pushed into the back of her mind, she unleashed her own push with the force using both hands aimed into the course of the running man.

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance smiled...........she was learning on the fly. Unfortunately for her the little push back while successful in hitting one of the Vengeance's visible circling her it hit the wrong one. It left four Vengeance's circling her and now with each circle they were closing in on her getting closer and closer to her.

"How deadly you are little one................How deadly you are little one..............How deadly you are little one."

Once they got within arms reach of her all four seemed to thrust out with their swords stomach high. One seemed to be aimed at the front center, one aimed at her left side, one aimed center of her back, and the last one at her right side. All appearing to spear in and slash in the continued circle counter clockwise. Would she be able to defend........if so would she defend the correct one in time to not get cut.

[member="Asajj"]

It was obvious Asajj's push hitting the wrong one had disheartened and threatened to annoy her. She breathed again though, not allowing it to get to her. Instead she looked for other solutions even though time was running out. The swirling illusions were getting closer each second and soon enough they thrusted with their sounds. Unable to guess which one to block she simply gathered the force into her lower body, before launching herself into the air with it's aide.

From this she aimed to dodge all of the blades by going above them and the man, landing outside his spinning circle of torment and on the sand beside him. Her red blade would ignite once again, just in case he wished to press his testing of her combat prowess.

[member="Vengeance"]

When she leaped out of the way Vengeance smiled stopping as she landed outside of the circle. Three of them disappearing as the true Vengeance appeared standing behind where she had just been.

"How deadly you are little one..............How deadly you are little one.............How deadly you are little one."

Vengeance slowly stalked towards her his sword coming in front of him as his free hand moved to join the other hand on the sword.

"How deadly you are little one.............How deadly you are little one.............How deadly you are little one."

He repeated it over and over almost as if he was in a trance mocking her.....making fun of her being on the defensive ever since claiming to be a great warrior. If she didn't move he would stop an arms length away from her. He would just standing there repeating over and over.

"How deadly you are little one................How deadly you are little one."

[member="Asajj"]

Asajj frowned in concentration, eyeing her opponent up and down. With a firm grip on her lightsaber she stood her ground until the man was an arms length away. From there he repeated his words still. They were nothing but background noise though as now she was focused and ready.

"Very well." She spoke calmly for the first time, moving forward to meet the man's blade. Her lightsaber came in from the left to try and bat his aside, using her momentum and off-angle to deliver a follow up strike around the side. Afterwards however she did not cease, following through her movement to strike again from a different angle. After this one she came low, utilizing her small stature and youthful agility to try and maneuver behind the man from where she would aim to slice straight across his lower back.

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance didn't move or react. He simply held his ground. When she slashed from the left his sword simply moved from it's twelve o'clock position in a circle to meet her blade. When she slashed from a different ankle his sword moved in a circle back the other way to meet her blade.

When she tried to simple behind him Vengeance simple turned his whole body around his sword moving in a circle down to meet her blade. Vengeance didn't even flinch at all. As a matter of fact he seemed bored as if waiting for something exciting to happen while casually swatting away her strikes. He didn't counter though nor did he move on the offensive. No that would have been to easy. Whether she realize it or not she was being tested. Tested in the one way very few people were tested. The object was less about victory or defeat. If he wanted to Vengeance could have killed her during her first leap.

No he wanted to see how she dealt with defeat............how she handled need to modify her tactics on the fly.

[member="Asajj"]

"You make it look easy."

Determination filled Asajj's facial expression, her eyes darting around to re-evaluate her attack. After a few moments she decided on her plan and moved in to strike again. Her first strike was a low sweep at the man's legs, a simple one handed strike he would no doubt deflect with ease. Whilst down low however she would subtly grab a pile of sand from the beach floor with her spare hand, concealing it as her body and blade came back up.

Before her next strike she thrusted her spare hand forward, releasing the sand aimed at her opponent's eyes in an effort to confuse or blind him, or atleast divert his attention. With the sand released her main hand brought her blade strike low again, this time at his lower stomach.

[member="Vengeance"]

Vengeance calmly and quickly swung his blade down in a circle swatting away the strike aimed at his legs before circling his blade back up to where it was. It's not that he didn't see her hand grab the sand and move up to throw it. No he saw it plain as day.

As the sand hit his eyes he closed them so only a little bit made it into his eyes. Stumbling back the subsequent strike to his stomach barely grazed his skin as she obviously didn't account for the reaction to the sand when choosing her follow up attack. A hand let go of the sword held out a inch or too from his body as he appeared to flounder around some trying to figure out where she was.

It was obvious to him that nobody taught her that one does not need eyes to see. Vengeance had been taught to see through the Force a fact Asajj didn't know and mostly likely would not account for.
