HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The De Lifte Family Jedi Order was formed by the wealthy De Lifte Family of Commenor after the destruction of the Mandalorian Crime Hunters at the hands of Darth Phyre. Its first and last Grandmaster was Moya De Lifte, secretly the Light Side Sith Darth Themis, freed from her prison on Jedha by the last remaining guardians of her prison, Adrian and his wife Ellen De Lifte, Themis was tempted with the idea of genuine heroism, and agreed to publicly act as, as well as legitimately train Jedi. All of this was to oppose Darth Phyre, later reborn as Syd Celsius and her murderous Cult of The Brain Demon, at the time rampaging nearly unopposed through the Plague ridden galaxy, commiting atrocities against whole cities via ritualized torture and murder in the name of The Dark Side. The Bright Lord quickly took the made up identity of Moya De Lifte organized the Force Sensitive but untrained members of the De Lifte Family, outraged at the deaths of long time allies The Crime Hunters and organized them into a guerilla Jedi Order, carrying out asymmetric warfare due to the cults much greater numbers. Operating from a hidden Fortress in Kara-Shehr, the De Lifte Jedi were constantly underfunded and in desperate need of more resources yet nonetheless inflicted significant damage on the cult and managed to restore at least some semblance of law and order on some worlds, facilitating even a working economy. Themis even grew to enjoy being a hero.
Unfortunately Themis received a vision of Phyre's inevitable triumph and spent months fruitlessly hunting for a way to avert the vision. She failed, and Phyre raided the Fortress they operated in with her cultists. Themis fought brutally, wanting to die with her family, only to ve taken alive by Phyre and forced to watch as Phyre personally butchered all the survivors, old or young, before taking her to Atrisia to have her soul burn for eternity in a lake of fire like dark energy. It says much of how much Themis actually HAD changed that her De Lifte Jedi are still somewhat fondly remembered as heroes...their loss was taken with great fear in certain swaths of the Galaxy.
Though the De Lifte Jedi Order ultimately failed its mission and was slaughtered to the last, they had inflicted so much damage on the cult that when the De Lifte's successors, an order of Jedi known as the Resistors of Darkness started opposing the Cult, they were much more vulnerable then before due to all the damage the De Lifte's managed and this ultimately helped facilitate their downfall.
