Deal or No Deal

A contact from the resistance stood before her on board the Little Gem explaining about the delegation coming in and what was believed to be with them.

Resistance wanted Rekha to steal the case, the entire case...and actual theft, not a copy and bring back, but steal....and bring it to them when she had it.

She wasn't sure what she was going to do next really. This was a bit more than the usual request. Her brow furrowed as her green eyes shows the hint of aggravation. Who said resistance work was easy...certainly not her. Maybe the resistance would send someone in to help.

Maybe.

She should request help...but that meant..admitting she couldn't do it alone.

Something told her though someone had already thought of that.

Lucky sat in a cargo freighter he "liberated" from some criminals, who had stolen it from someone else. Lucky sat in the cockpit, in the middle of empty space. He had nothing to do, He was currently just relaxing, which he rarely ever did. His genetic code made that so, He felt like he always had to be doing something, the other experiments probably felt the same way.

Then, suddenly, he got a communication from the Resistance. How they found him, he didn't know. But he still answered it. Apparently, they wanted his help with something. Well, he currently had an open schedule, so he was up for it.

"Alright, where do you need me, where do I have to go?" Red asked the person on the other side of the communication.

[member="Subject 74 Lucky"] would only receive a digital message that had been bounced around the galaxy so much it would be hard to trace with instruction to go to the Little Gem, a boat Cantonica and see the Captain. He was to tell the Captain he was the assistance.

Rekha sat on the deck of the Gem looking up at the casino contemplating how to get into the rooms, get the case, get out...and get it delivered without blowing her cover or getting caught. It was days like this that she wished she had stayed on Bespin dancing in Joza's new club and drinking someone else's whiskey for a change.

What was she going to do...she needed the plan, or at least the outline of one.

Lucky landed his borrowed ship on Cantonica on a landing platform. He exited the ship and entered the city. He walked down the streets. He could see an ocean or a sea nearby. He walked toward it.

Soon, he reached the sea, and he could see a boat on the water. He activated his visor and scanned the boat. It was the same boat he was told to go to. He activated the jetpacks built into his armor, and flew to it.

When he was close to it, he deactivated his jets and landed on the ship's platform. He looked around.

"I need to speak with the Captain of this ship on important and private matters." He reported.

"The Captain is currently enjoying peace and quiet." She looked over something inside her made her wish for a weapon. "May I ask who is calling?" She moved slowly to put her feet to the deck.

The chair she was relaxing in suddenly felt small, tight, and damn right inconvenient.

She looked him over for a minute more jet pack. mandalorian? Visor...another indicator mandalorian.........she had nothing against them. But she was wondering what the deal was.

Lucky turned to look at the speaker. "I- ah- shouldn't tell who I am to anyone but the captain. Can you please tell the captain that I wish to speak with them. Also, tell them that I am the help that has been sent to assist them." Lucky told her.

He examined her. Odd, she seemed nervous, probably about him. True, Lucky would be on edge if some random person showed up out of nowhere. She didn't seemed to be armed, so it was unlikely that she would attack him.

This was the help. He was going to stick out like a sore thumb dressed like that here..!

She got up trying to make sure her mouth was closed she was trying to work past the he's the help. Oh she knew she shouldn't look a gift in the mouth but here she was her mind questioning everything.

"Ok...well cupcake. I'm Captain Kaarde. Welcome aboard. Two questions...what's your name, and do you want something to drink?"

If he was a mandalorian this was going to get interesting quickly. But she smiled and offered her hand.

Lucky looked at her. So, she was the captain, huh? Alright, that was the first part down.

"Right. Captain Kaarde, I'm Lucky." Lucky introduced himself then, he shook her hand. She offered him a drink. "Um, no thank you. I'm good." He replied.

He hadn't taken his helmet off, not yet. She hadn't asked him to, so he kept it on. She would either ask, or Lucky would take it off when he wanted to.

"Lucky huh..." she had to laugh she had a thing about things named lucky...the bar was the Lucky Lady and she had the Midnight Star....she smiled big, "ya know Lucky we might actually get on alright"

She wouldn't ask right now about the armor and if he in fact was a mandalorian but standing out here on the deck of the Gem certainly would get some stares. Which of course she didn't care about. "Call me Rekha it eases my over active imagination"

"Are you aware of what you've been asked to help with Lucky" She sipped her drink, anyone watching would assume she was negotiating something who knew with her could be anything.

"Right now I'm talking to you verifying who you are and if you are up to the challenge. Showing up in armor doesn't make you good, just means you wear armor." Rekha took another drink.

"I got about this much trust" she showed her fingers and a very tiny space between them, "when it comes to folks hiding their faces. You and I could be caught, dead, tortured, or just disintegrated. So...let's figure out how we are going to get it done without any of the above making an appearance. Agree?" She didn't want to die and she did not think he did either, so they'd have to make a plan and get what was needed.

a case...deal...or no deal

"Agreed. I still have so much I want to do." Lucky said. So, she didn't like people who hid their faces, huh? Alright, Lucky got the message.

He took off his helmet, seeing as how it was all clear now. Lucky looks at her. His right eye color was white, while his left eye color was black. Most people found that bizarre. The other weird part about him was that his hair was in two different colors. The right side of his hair was white, while the left side was black, just like his eye color.

"Right, let's get to work." He told her.

Now that was a fething twist he took his helmet off...."A face a mother could love." She smiled she better hope he had a sense of humor and didn't decide to end her when they got done. Her mouth was a bit unfiltered and it often got her in trouble.

"Yes let's map it out. Come on below to the holo table I got a map of the casino and where we need to get into, as well as the who we have to take the case from." Rekha headed down to the next deck her office when she wasn't running parties.

Waving her hand over the table the casino appeared, "The Casino is busy, lots of people lots of security. It could provide some cover, but we could also target the ship they come in on....what's your optimal situation?" She wanted to know if he wanted to go into the Casino or the ship.

Lucky nodded and followed her below decks. He followed her under and stood next to the holotable. The image of the casino appeared. Lucky studied it. He memorized the map of the casino.

"Well, I would prefer the casino, there's more cover there, but there is also the risk of civilian casualties. Still, I would prefer the casino. What about you?" Lucky asked.

[member="Subject 74 Lucky"]

"We shouldn't have casualties that would put us in a bad light and give the opposition fuel for propaganda that we can't afford." She looked at the map again, "You like the casino because it's busy. I don't mind it because as you say it gives us cover...the case is the prize. We have to locate it."

Rekha traced her finger along the outer edge of the building her mind working through her last visit there. "Let's do some recon work see what what can plan, or if opportunity knocks react. What do you think?" Her gut was telling her that no matter what they planned there would be a surprise in there they had not counted on.

"Its should be here in about 3 hours, that gives us time to work it out. It's one of those yacht class ships, all the bells and whistles, high security, for fat cats with more money than they know what to with"

Rekha hit the button and the holo receeded, "Well then Lucky let's head out...you might stand out some, but I think for recon its good to give them something to fear." She'd have to secure the Gem before they left didn't want anyone taking off with it. She'd send it into low orbit and call it back when needed.

She walked, "So where are you coming from?" She could finally be a bit more friendly.

Lucky nodded. Good, they had enough time. "I think for now it would be best to blend in. You got any normal clothes in my size?" Lucky asked with a smile. A joke, Lucky didn't make a lot of those, most of the experiments were lacking in social skills.

Lucky followed after her. "I just came from the Outer Rim. I stopped a gang of criminals from committing any more crimes." He told her.
