Death on Nar Shaddaa

Everything was dark, everything was always dark. Tears tried to come out of Zack's eyes, but tears did not come out due to dehydration. Nar Shaddaa was a busy planet and a 12 year old boy dying on the street should gain attention, but it didn't, kids died all the time. He had not eaten in weeks or had a drink in a week and no one cared enough to keep him from death's door.

He was sitting on an old ragged mat in an alleyway. His eyes slowly began to close as his body went from siting to slowly sliding down the wall to laying on the mat. His eyes closed fully as his body began to shut down and he became unconscious. He had been away from his father for 7 years, but with becoming blind by the Black Sun and unable to speak properly or even at all in his condition things had gone down hill quickly. The Black Sun leader wanted Zack dead for taking his business, but he wanted it a slow and sad death and it looked like he would get what he wanted.

Alesia had stowed away on board the ship of a Chiss smuggler and now found herself on Nar Shadda. The little fairy was floating through the air, looking for something to occupy her time with when she came across Zack. She fluttered over to him and poked his cheek a few times. "Excuse me! Mister? Hey! You need to wake up!" The little white-haired girl called as she continued to poke him. He looked rather sick, maybe there was something she could do to help him. Alesia flew away again, returning with a glass of water she had 'aquired' (stolen) from a nearby cantina. She carefully pour some of the glass's contents into his mouth, gently rubbing his throat to try and make him swallow it. She repeated the process until he had drank the entire glass, and then went to get another from somewhere. [member="Zack Matsumoto"]

Upon the water hitting his throat, the unconscious Zack began to choke until she rubbed his throat to help him swallow. He moaned slightly, but did not wake up. In his mind he saw the things he saw everytime he closed his empty eyes. Belts, sticks, bats, metal pulls, fists, anything within reach he relived his fathers beating from them. It scared him to sleep, but at the moment he had no choice. Secretly he wanted to die, what a horrible thing to want, but what 12 year old wanted this life? These memories?

Alesia left again and returned with another glass over water which she once again helped the boy to swallow. Once the second glass was gone she went in search of food, finding something small for him to eat. She hovered back over to him and floated in front of his, poking his cheek repeatedly. "Hey! You need to wake up, Mister! You need food, but I can't feed you if you're asleep. Come on wkae up, please?" [member="Zack Matsumoto"]

The cool refreshing water burned Zack's throat due to lack of hydration. His eyes fluttered a little as a little life came back into him. His eyes slowly opened and he saw nothing. He tried to speak, but his mouth wouldn't move. So his lifeless eyes merely searched the darkness that he constantly lived in, always searching for hope. A single tear rolled down his cheek. A good and sad sign, a sign his body was slowly healing itself, but a sad sign as it meant he was still alive and felt the pain of his life. He heard someone speak and continue to poke him and became scared that this was the end for him.

Alesia pressed a slice of bread into his hand. "I can get more, but eat this for now. You look like you could use some food, Mister. I'll go find more, but eat that for now!" the little fairy instructed, making sure her had a good grip on the chunk of bread and began eating it before she fluttered off in search of more food. It took her awhile but she managed to aquire a sandwich from a rather nice cantina owner when she explained the situation. The white haired creature held if carefully as she floated back to the sick child. "I brought you a sandwich, Mister!" she called in her high pitched little fairy voice. [member="Zack Matsumoto"]

Zack felt the loft of bread placed in his hands and felt it unsure what it was. His hands searched the curves and jagged edges where it had been torn off. He slowly lifted the bread with his hands falling back down as the little weight was still too much. He finally got it to his mouth and tried for several moments to open his mouth. He slowly got it opened and and got a small piece in. He could not chew it, but used what little saliva he could manage to soften it and make easy to swallow. He continued this method trying to eat more, but it was hard.

His thoughts drifted towards where the food came from. What was the high pitched voice that was near him, it seemed small. His body then lunged forward and to the side as his body threw up the food he was trying to eat. A sad sign, but the sign that his body was beginning to work again. He heard the fairy return back with a sandwich and managed to get some words out, "Huo Are ou?" This was his way of asking who she was, but his mouth jaw was off set and weak unable to speak correctly.

Alesia grinned and ripped a small chunk off the sandwich, holding it up to his mouth for him. "My name is Alesia! I'm an As-Aki! I have wings and I'm really small. What's the matter? Can't you see me?" she asked, not realizing the child she had found was blind. She waited patiently for him to take the small bit of food. "Don't eat too fast. You may be starving but eating too quickly and too much at a time will make you sick. I'll give you more water in a little bit though. What are you doing out here all alone?" His eyes searched around for the one speaking. His once beautiful blue eyes were now a lightish blue, so much so that they were almost white. He felt the food touch his lips and slowly tried to open his sore mouth to eat it. His brain was still fuzzy and a normal person would be asking what he was eating or if it was poisoned, but Zack's body only knew it needed food and food was present. He then heard something, fluttering sound. She had said he she had wings and he could hear them. He smiled and even though he could not speak he laughed a weak, but happy laugh and slowly rose a hand with an outstretched finger to try to touch his new friend.

His finger poked her in the stomach lightly and she giggled a bit. "Hey that tickles! I'm okay with you touching me, just be careful okay? As-Aki are very easy to damage by accident," She explained, grasping his finger with her tiny hands and shifting herself into a position where she was sitting on it. The little fairy smiled, though Zack couldn't see it, and kicked her legs a bit as she sat on her perch. She kept her wings going in case the kid's hand suddenly dropped back down in his weakened state. She didn't particularly want to fall, as she was likely to splatter on the ground if she did. It was in this moment that he realized just how small she was. He made a small smile again as her laughter and let her sit on his finger. He slowly moved his hand to come rest on his lap making a sort of cliff for her. His eyes weren't looking at her, but that didn't really matter. He used his dry tongue to dry to slowly wet his lips so he could talk. "Im orry, I an't eak ell or ee nyang. uh ack un inded e. I am Z-zack." In his hard to speack voice he had said. 'I'm sorry, I can't speak well or see anything. The Black Sun blinded me. I am Zack." He hoped she could understand him, but would not be surprised if she couldn't.
