- The blade is formed from Beskar, giving it the ability to take Lightsabers and various other hazardous materials without breaking.
- A vibration cell is located within the hilt to increase cutting power, and is encompassed by a Duraplast casing to keep the power cell from shorting out from ion based attacks.
- Each of the Kals is tailored for the Death Watch member that carries it, each having the chain code and name of its wielder engraved into the blade.
- Can’t Touch This: The Kal are extremely durable, able to go toe to toe with lightsabers and survive.
- In a Pinch: Given the small size, it’s easy for a Mandalorian to stow the weapon in an easily concealable place on their body, able to be pulled out if the situation calls for it.
- Limited Range: Given the length of the blade, it should not be used as the first choice for melee combat.
Upon the Death Watch being reformed, it’s founders wanted to wash away the taint that had come over Clan Viszla and it’s legacy, seeking to reaffirm the clans position as honorable warriors. The Kal has always been a symbolic weapon for the Mandalorians, but for the new age, it’s appearance has been updated for the more modern era. Every member of Death Watch is issued this dagger upon taking their oaths with the warrior's name and "Chain code" engraved into the blade; a symbol of their unbreakable will and convictions to defending Mandalore and it’s people.
