Deciding to Improve

Meet Val`Sion

My Wandering Echani Force Warrior
Since I created this character, he has been like a lone Monk, travelling the lands, inspecting other worlds, and encountering various people. He is driven by the Force, to seek out its wiill and accomplish that which it sets before him. He has had wonderful encounters with a handful of very special people, that he holds dear. He has yet to be trained by anyone on the board. This is what I wish to change.

To surmise his background, he was trained on Eshan by his Echani family and tribe in their respective martial arts. After leaving to trek out on his own, he encountered the Followers of Palawa where he learned the art of Teräs Käsi, and then joined them in the hundred year sleep. Sion seeks balance in the Force. He does not abide by light, dark, grey, silver, white, or any color of the proverbial rainbow. This is why I have not had him join a faction (in practice), and that is also why he has not progressed from the board standard of starting out.

So I need a place for him to train and grow in his own perspective, and his own mindset, increasing and improving in skill and talent. If you're going to offer to train Sion though, please include information of the following nature:

  • What mindset is your character subscribing to in the Force?
  • What abilities can you offer to train Sion in?
  • If you're attempting to offer a faction, is it something that fits his mindset? (Not even the Templars swayed him)
  • How will you convince him?

While Saevio can't offer you much in the way of Force-related education considering he's something of a noob to the Force himself, nor can he convince you to join any faction since he himself hasn't quite found a place to belong, I imagine it'd be interesting for an Iridonian Zabrak to meet an Echani, nevertheless. If Sion ever makes his way through Iridonia, let me know.

I was offered another path that I might go with Sion. [member="Kiskla Grayson"] mentioned to me that I can self train by monologuing on a journey to learn various skills. I may go down this path if I can get more information about it. Can anyone give me ideas or rules that need to be followed in order to self-train?

[member="Saevio"] I shall keep you in mind, if he heads down that path. That signature - I just love to stare at it.

[member="Vereaux"] It may be possible down the road.

I do some self-training to supplement my teachings. It's pretty simple, you just go in with what you intend to accomplish and do it. I use (OOCly) my Force master as a kind of filter, in case my writing becomes sub-standard.

Also, on an rp note, I can't teach you anything yet, but if you ever want to meet up IC I'd be up for it.

Hmm.....

How would you feel about experimentation? Simple learning how to change the things around you, living or dead.

Daichi could use an assistant.

Also. [member="Saevio"]

An iridonian Zabrak you say? Sounds like something familiar. If only you were around before Krest met his end.

When I read this character I thought it might be interesting for the two to meet. They both are wanderers, for different reasons I am sure. While I can't train you in any Force related matters, I would gladly have my character support yours in such an endeavor.

[member="Harrip"] I find it highly interesting that he can smell Force Users. I wonder, would he also be able to smell the Force imbued in objects, or places?

[member="Val`Sion"]

Objects: Very unlikely, unless they are heavily imbued with Dark Side energy

Places: Definitely, areas where a large number of Force users, or with a number of powerful Force users, have stayed for a time get a scent that he can smell.

However if there is a high concentration of Force powers he can get choked by the smell, but that takes a lot of Force to do that.

I'm considering reforming the Seala Kasi, but whether or not you've got the right aptitude for it is a tricky one for me to figure without a thread. If we were to meet, I could teach what I can teach others--combat, wisdom, and general knowledge about the force. Also, excellent dancing and drinking skills.

As to Vorhi's personal beliefs on the force, he just believes it is. There are thousands of iterations, all of them true in some way, but the Force actually isn't interested in philosophy itself, anymore than light and gravity are interested in the things they affect. The Force is not, in Vorhi's mind, some personal entity that steers the universe. It merely provides power to many people who choose to steer things by their own will. the force exists, and how we deal with that is really up to us.

[member="Vorhi Alestrani"] Well Sion was trained by the remnant of the Followers of Palawa, and despite philosophy - the art of Teräs Käsi was never exclusive to those with the Force, it was also used combat those with the Force as a means of defense against their power. So in the strictest sense, anyone who would put the time and energy into the art could learn it despite their personal belief. Though I wouldn't mind threading with you.

Admittedly, Teras Kasi is a neutral discipline available to all who've got the guts to learn it. The Seala Kasi is a secret society among practiationers of Teras Kasi that was made entirely for force-sensitives, however. Regardless, I'm down for a thread, and think Vorhi would probably talk with Val'Sion at length about things. It'd be interesting to have him deal with another person trained on Bonduki, as that's kinda rare on this board. Everybody likes Echani fighting styles better. :(

[member="Vorhi Alestrani"] And that is why Sion is the best of both worlds. It would be an honor to thread with you. Would you prefer to introduce said thread?
