Darben Skirae decided to take a walk. He did need to get out more, and when he had gotten back to Commenor from Myrkr he thought this could be his opportunity. Once the crew were well, he had them get back to Commenor, letting them know that he would catch up in time. And that he did some time later. This was an opportunity...plus he wanted to give it time.

He had seen two crew members killed before him. And he could do nothing about it. He no doubt looked tired and had told Renla of what had happened. He had assumed right, she was most unhappy. So for the day, he took a market stroll in Chasin City.

Regret

She felt regret beyond anything, she had barely been given news about darben being captured by pirates...and of course of his rescue....she had dropped everything heading for commenor at full speed alone. Setting within her fighters she closed hed eyes...she felt the force around her and it moved around it different way...dark and light clashing between her, she held back their whispers to draw her to either side...they were merely tools to her but at the same time she let them guide her when the time was right

Space opened and spat her out, she slowed before she started for the planet sending her codes to the landing tower, she entered the atmosphere and looked around the place....still healing from the attack of the former king...she closed her eyes....she hoped maybe one day he would see his errors...or be saved somehow. Her fighter touched down and she hopped out as she started walking...right through the market...wondering where to start looking...

Darben Skirae stopped by a stall here and there, but unlike he normally would he purchased nothing. He just couldn't feel up to it. Everywhere he looked he saw the dead cold eyes of the crew...of Mia...people he had failed. All their faces of those that he had been made to leave behind, those he had seen before him. He just could not bear it. He ended up turning into an alleyway...and there he broke. He snapped, falling to his knees against the wall. Some onlookers saw him but thought nothing of it. He just sobbed and sobbed there.

How was she alive? She had seen so much hell...she had seen death of hundreds before her many under her command...she glanced around and sighed. Honest she thought she really shouldn't be alive after everything she had been through a lot and through it lost so much....but at this moment she felt despite having so many friends...lonely...oddly enough lonely.

Her thoughts were interrupted at a sound reaching her...she blocked and looked to a alley she was passing to see a man sobbing

hey...hey sir you ok?

She spoke and moved closer getting a better view she froze...darben...she rushed over quickly and kneeled down

darben hey darben it's me star shhh shhh...let's get you up

She said and gently pulled him up

Darben Skirae heard someone. Someone asking someone else if they were okay. He continued to sob, having no idea just who they were asking. Not until he heard footsteps. He retracted a foot back, thinking he might get mugged or something, only to hear her. An old friend of his. He lifted his head as she pulled him up, then wrapped her in a hug, crying it all out. All of them were gone. And he could do not a thing to save them. He could still hear the blasters going off in his head. Could still see the planet cracking apart. Could still see Mia's cold face... "Take it away....take it all away..."

He was a mess...he didnt look good at all...she picked him up and started leading him out and away, she needed to get a speeder to pick her up so they could get out of this market place

It hurt her to see him like this...a man so caring so loving had been broken down to a sobbing mess....her heart ached as she couldn't protect him and she closed her eyes as she took a deep breath then caught a speeder taxi

Darben Skirae somewhat got limp as [member="Stardust Bloodstone"] pulled him along and out of the alley. He kept muttering under his breath as he quietly sobbed. He stumbled about while leaning on her, and then they got to a speeder. Darben walked in, and sat there while trying to hold himself together. "Star...Star take it...take it all away..."

She said as she instructed the driver to head for the store, one she had stayed at a few times and even helped around the place a few times...she fir list in thought soon, if she was to retire from everything all the war and royalty she wanted to work there a simple life that was it she wanted that...

They would arrive shortly, she helped him out and inside as she looked to him and frowned as she sat him down

Darben Skirae shook his head, sitting at the opposite side of the speeder cab. She assured him however, the whole trip. As soon as they arrived he got sat down on a chair behind the store's counter. He reached down instead of answering, looking for the secret compartment and opened it...only to shut it and silently cursing. He had forgotten, Renla had gotten rid of that one. Had he been in a right state of mind he would have answered [member="Stardust Bloodstone"] but as of right now he was looking for the one thing he thought could help; a drink...only in truth, it would only make things worse.

He didnt answer, she took a seat and her heart dropped... she had failed the one thing she had promised to do, that one single hing she said to renla, to him even! She placed a hand on her forehead and took a deep breath as she needed to be strong. She looked towards darben as she reached a hand out towards him a hand on his cheek to try and get his attention

darben...I'm sorry I failed...I failed to keep you safe I got wrapped up in my own personal stuff and failed to protect you when you truly needed me

She bowed her head in shame as she moved her hand and placed it on the counter gripping it hard

Darben needed a drink, he was feeling desperate for one now, desperate for the comfort of the liquid. As much as he could, as much as-

He paused as he felt [member="Stardust Bloodstone"]'s hand against his cheek, and his gaze settled upon her. He felt a calm wash over, he no longer needed a drink. He felt tears, and then dropped forth before her. She was sorry yet it was he who had failed. He who should be in shame. "Star I..." He felt the pain clutch at his chest once more. "I've lost so much...I can't deal with all this loss, with all this pain." He needed something to subdue it. To replace it. "I need this pain taken away..."

she felt the tear hit her hand, she looked up to see bus head drop. She drowned and closed her eyes as she held back joining a him in crying . She gently placed a hand on his arm as she sighed out and shivered as she heard his words that greatly worried her.....

She said and opened her eyes as she looked to him, she moved her hand to his and squeezed gently to get his attention, she wish she could take the pain away she wish she could fix everything and bring his happy self back but she couldn't if she couldn't she would still be married to a raxis and everything would be perfect....she wouldn't have to worry at all.....

She squeezed his hand again and spoke

I cant take it away.....I cant fix it even I dont have the power to do that...but...I can be by your side...i can be your sword and shield...darben...I cant bear seeing you like this at all...therefore i... I wish to stay and be with you to help you not as a friend as a...as you....as yours

Plain and simple...she looked down wondering if her curse would come to take him

Darben still found himself still staring into her eyes as he felt her hand on his arm, a continued sense of calmness washing over. He then felt his hand squeezed and now he broke the matched gaze between them to look down at his hand. And her hand with his. Darben listened to her words. His sword and shield? Be by his side? Be yours? What did she-

He froze up. He slowly realized what exactly Star was meaning. "S..Star you don't...you don't want that. I've got problems that would make things worse...." But...did she really want this? And did he? He looked down at their hands again...he was beginning to recall back to when Star first helped him. And what happened after. What they shared.

I do want that darben...I've spent many many years of my life struggling and having so much loss...wanting so much more. You have problems and so do I but I don't care I dont want to take them on alone and....i dont want you to take it on as well alone...I want to be wih you and help you fight it...together

She looked to the side, she had to calm herself a bit after letting such feelings out for him...honestly she hadn't realized it until being around him a lot more and.. when she found herself worrying for his safety along with renlas safety

Darben Skirae sighed at [member="Stardust Bloodstone"]. What was he meant to say to that? He had that funny feeling as he had that day when they had shared a kiss. "Star I..." Was he meant to say he was flattered? That he couldn't go through with this? What was he meant to do?

"Thank you...Star, thank you" he said. Without even realizing, he started to hug her close. "You have helped me so much and this...you've always been a good friend to me Star. I just don't....want to hurt you" he finished quietly, in a whisper. "I care too much." He finally managed to get it out. Ever since that day, those pent up feelings.

She sighed as she hugged him close as well, staying silent as she listens she couldn't help a amused smile crossing over her face as she placed a hand on his back and closed her eyes before she took a deep breath and sighed out


I cant be hurt anymore.. I've been stabbed, shot, had artillery shot at me....I've had my heart stomped on and everything else done to it...yet I am here...and i want to care for you as you do me

She couldn't help but feel her eyes get wet and moved a hand to dry them before her hand went back on him

Darben felt her hands close upon his back as she embraced him back. For some reason he did not wish to let go...He knew why. He heard her sigh. Sometimes he forgot just how much taller she was than him. He listened. All of those things, and yet he's only witnessed such things. Not suffered such things. Yes he had been stabbed at or shot at but that was in small muggings or when he got in the middle of big trouble.

"You've...you've suffered so much." He felt the same pain suddenly as he had when he had seen into her mind, her memories. All the pain she had suffered. [member="Stardust Bloodstone"] had felt so much pain, it made Darben's pain feel insignificant.

yes I have, and you have...pain is relative...to me this pain I've suffered is as bad as what you have been through....but your not used to it...

She spoke quietly, the normal loud spoken woman had lowered her voice for him, she looked back into his eyes and gave a smile as she closed her eyes and smiled

darben....what I say I mean it, I've grown close to you I enjoy being around you even with your flaws I enjoy being around you and...I want to stay around you...I want to help you and let you know it's not all dark

Darben Skirae sighed as he could feel [member="Stardust Bloodstone"]'s words touch his heart, his feelings. He looked up into her eyes and found himself staring into her eyes again. Did she truly want this? He kept questioning it, thinking who would want him.

"Stardust I...if this is truly what you want..." He found himself smiling now. It must have been true. "Then yes, Star..I would like to have you here, by my side....Renla's going to be overjoyed, you know."

She smiled, she smiled bright and as nig as she possibly could, she chuckled and closed her eyes feeling relief wash over her mind as she grabbed his hands and quickly pulled him towards her and kiss him for a minute then gently let go and sighed
