Defecting from the Imperium

Zaruan previously apart of the Fel Imperium...Defected to the Galactic Empire. It seemed to make more sense to be apart of the Galactic Empire. His home, Csilla was within the Galactic Empire, or so he had heard. Many Chiss from the Ascendancy joined the Empire no doubt after they joined up with the Empire. It would be better that way, rather than being apart of the Imperium that was halfway across the Galaxy.

His last mission with the Imperium had been upon Kad V where he had given them a chance to join him. Many of his crew were Chiss, after all, he didn't truly accept other races upon his ship unless they were human or chiss. Some would call it racism, but Zaruan would call it efficiency. Besides, he has yet to see a non-human or non-chiss perform a feat of greatness in combat.

Thankfully, Zaruan wasn't leaving alone. He was leaving with a little more than a skeleton crew. Mostly his bridge crew remained, quite a bit of the stormtroopers, engineers who practically lived upon the ship ever since it was commissioned. It would be a long and arduous journey to the Galactic Empire. He was returning home, to Csilla. He would request to join the Galactic Empire there, he had yet to find out the capital of the Empire anyway.

He had however gotten into contact with the Grand Admiral of the Galactic Empire's Navy. He had told him he was bringing his ship to Csilla to to enlist in the Empire. The Chiss Legacy was nearly there, nearly at Csilla, nearly at home. He could only hope that the Grand Admiral had come to Csilla to meet him personally.

"We're coming out of hyperspace, sir!" One of the voices of his bridge crew said, and it shocked him out of his reverie.
"Opening up communications channel, sir! You are free to speak!" The voice of the communications officer called right after the previous ensign.
"This is Zaruan, previously apart of the Fel Imperium. Is Grand Admiral Tegessar out there?" He inquired within his transmission, and it was sent out to the ships that were no doubt around the planet of Csilla.

The planetary defense forces of Csilla responded in the only way that could be expected when an unknown ship flying colors from a faction unrecognized by the Galactic Empire appeared in their system. Several patrol corvettes immediately broke off their routes and flew in to intercept, broadcasting the standard messages of 'identify yourself' and 'power down all shields and maintain current course and speed.' While that was going on, a pair of the new Unity-class Cruisers detached from their picket position over the planet and moved within range of their main battery, to better drive the point home. The last part of the response would be slower in coming. One of the Lee-class Star Destroyers in orbit would launch (within 30 minutes was how it was supposed to work) and eventually board the suspect ship, and then take it under close control and escort it to a military station for internment.

Fortunately, besides the quick reaction of the Corvettes, none of that would be necessary. It was not, after all, an unexpected visit. Lurking at the edge of the system entirely unannounced was the newly refitted Iron Duke, flagship of Imperial Grand Admiral Cyrus Tregessar. Things had been arranged this way on purpose. He intended to make a point. However the Fel's operated, the Galactic Empire focused on efficiency and swiftness of action. There was no real way of knowing how professional the Fel navy was, but what reports Cyrus had heard generally mentioned that the ships were run by slaves and dissidents. Motivated no doubt, but lacking in discipline. The odds were pretty good that their response to a similar situation would be no where near as quick or as practiced.

"This is Zaruan, previously apart of the Fel Imperium. Is Grand Admiral Tegessar out there?"

With the press of a button Cyrus brought the comms display on the main screen, and before responding allowed himself a moment to inspect the chiss who had just spoke. He had managed to pull the man's records from Csilla, and had been reasonably impressed, though test scores and border patrols were no way to gauge skill. Still, he seemed competent enough, and the truth was the Galactic Empire had need of skilled naval commanders. He could always be gotten rid of later if a liability.

"This is Grand Admiral Cyrus Tregessar of the Galactic Empire. You have entered Imperial space and shall comply with all orders given by system defense forces. Request that you heave to and prepare to be boarded by my vessel."

Cyrus paused a moment. It was necessary to go through the normal formalities, even if he did more or less believe the chiss captain. One could never be too sure with deserters, of course, but his motivations had seemed genuine. Had they not, he would have blown his ship to pieces from afar, something the chiss certainly would have realized by now. Since diplomacy was the rule of the day now, Cyrus made his best attempt to relax the impassive steel mask that was his normal facial expression. It didn't particularly work.

"Welcome to Csilla, Captain Nuarudo."

He was quiet the whole time while the Grand Admiral spoke back through the holotransmission. He was quite the old man. He no doubt did his job well if he were still alive.

He had to say though, that their little spectacle was quite impressive. Though his ship continued it's course and it's hangar bay doors were opened. All they had to do was wait until the Grand Admiral's shuttle arrived on the Chiss Legacy. Once the transmission was over, he nodded to himself and then looked to the two security guards next to the turbolift. "Come with me." He said when he walked to the turbolift, the doors opened up with the sound of a whoosh.

The turbolift brought him to the hangar bay level where he walked out and turned through a few corridors to stand waiting in the hangar bay. He expected the shuttle any moment now.

Flanked by Force Recon troopers, the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Empire Navy exited his shuttle. Negotiations here weren't expected to take long, but sometimes you had to follow procedure. Besides, Cyrus wanted to get the measure of the chiss defector in person. A face to face meeting could tell you a lot about a person. He took a few steps up towards the captain, received his salute, and returned it in kind. The blue-skinned man was almost as tall as him, but nowhere near as large. But as Cyrus knew well, physical size had little relevance when it came to how well you could command a fleet, nor was it necessarily an advantage on a ship in any way (though it had its uses in other forms of warfare).

"It's good to finally meet in person, Captain Nuarudo. Why don't you tell me about the Fel Imperium while we head to the bridge."

His salute was crisp. This was a Grand Admiral of the Galactic Empire's Navy. "I would if I could Grand Admiral. But I was only present for spacial operations And other times the Fel Imperium's leader, the Imperator was not quite inviting towards me." He said in a monotonous voice. "I am only a Captain however. I do not blame him." He said as he started to guide them through the corridor to a waiting turbolift.

"The Grand Admiral is a Chiss. The Imperator himself has two bastard daughters. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more." His tone remained the same.
