SPECIAL FEATURES
- Heavy Point Defense Laser cannon allows for you to destroy enemy fighters, bombers, missiles and other munitions using a state of the art targeting system to identify, track, target, and then destroy targets at long ranges. This allows for you engage multiple targets in a reasonable window and keep your ship safe from enemy fighters, bombers, missiles and torpedoes.
- Allows you to select charges based on what you're attacking, either using lots and lots of volume of fire to destroy enemy munitions, or a less voluminous but still rapid fire heavy hitting laser blasts that will knock star fighters and bombers out of the sky.
STRENGTHS
- Rapid Fire Heavy Hitter - This laser cannon is definitely able engage anything from the size of a small missile to the size of a heavy bomber, and do so quickly with accuracy by volume or with extremely precise heavy shots to deliver hammer blows. This thing hits hard, it hits you a lot, and it doesn't stop to ask questions.
WEAKNESSES
- This isn't for use against Capital vessels - So this cannon hits like a brick house against star fighters and bombers, and while it could damage enemy capital ships, especially corvettes and light frigates, you shouldn't. If you're close enough and have the enemy exposed enough to do that, you either aren't worried about them, or have a lot bigger problems.
DESCRIPTION
Freebirds Industries' first foray into making their own in house Point Defense Laser Cannon, the Deimos is a certainly impressive weapon system. It's sturdy construction, extreme responsiveness, and accuracy of fire makes this weapon a fearsome opponent in battle space. And this is achieved with a series of lightweight and sturdy materials that were newly created out of the CIS like Phrik-A and Synthetic Yorik Coral. This gives this turret an increased durability, accuracy, and also saves on power consumption for moving the weapon. Add into this that it's compatible with most weapon targeting systems, and this weapon can absolutely be used on just about anything. So for your point defense needs, look no further than the Deimos.
