- Classification: War Staff (comparable to Glaive)
- Size: Large
- Weight: Heavy
- Plasma Based (Energy Damage)- utilizes plasma to heat the blades on either end of the staff to cut through targets almost as effectively as a lightsaber.
- Top end of the staff has plades more fit for cutting targets, but bottom end can work as a bladed pommel.
- Slight feeling of Dark Side energy when a force sensitive touches one as a result of the Sith Alchemy used in the forging of these war staffs.
- Used as "badges of office" by the wielders to distinguish one android from others in the Derumic Android courts.
- Each staff is cosmetically different from the others (different blade orientations, and different blade shapes) to distinguish individuals at court.
- All war staffs glow bright orangish-red from the plasma.
- Ones wielded by force sensitive androids may glow a darker red when the force is channeled into certain strikes from the rage of the wielder. Said state of the blade also glows much brighter than normal.
- Forging Technique- the Derumium used to forge the shaft of the war staff is made to resist much energy damage more as a means to keep the charged plasma contained, but can also allow it to block attacks from weapons such as lightsabers (in reference to blocking quick strikes in a parry-like form).
- The shaft can guard against a lightsaber comparible to Beskar, but will eventually give way if the energy and pressure is applied for long periods of time (average is about 3-5 minute holds against such energy and pressure before the metal shaft gives way).
- Near Lightsaber-Equivalent- the type of damage, and damage output, from the war staff is comparible to that of a lightsaber.
- Force Responsive- the Derumium that makes up the war staff is able to respond to the force if its wielder is force sensitive.
- In response to rage of a force sensitive wielder, the blade may heat up more to make more devastating blows for breif periods of time (typically lengths of time to execute strikes at a target).
- Prolonged amounts of time in this state can cause severe damage to the war staff.
- Reach- due to its large size from a long shaft, the war staff has a great amount of reach when in combat.
- Weight- the war staff was designed for the mechanical Derumic Androids to use, as a result many organic beings may have a hard time holding and wielding one from the sheer weight of the weapon.
- Size- being a staff, it is very cumbersome, and may put the wielder at a disadvantage when fighting in enclosed spaces.
- Irreplaceable- if one is destroyed beyond repair, there are no more that can be produced to replace it.
- Target's Resistance- targets that have resistance to energy damage and-or lightsabers may put a wielder of the war staff at a disadvantage.
The Derumium War Staff was designed to be the weapon used by higher ranking Derumic Androids (Officers, Scribes, Lords, and Akhuul). In the times of the ancient Sith Empire, before the Great Hyperspace War, the Sith armies fought using melee weapons primarilly. From that tradition, the more elite members of the Derumic Android heirarchy were given these more advanced war staffs to use in their new forms as androids. It also further distinguishes the higher ranking androids from the masses of Soldiers and Slaves on Sautra Vokh. Only one was made for each member of the heirarchy it was given to, as a result the few that exist are likely to not be exploited and abused across the greater galaxy with the Derumic Androids hiding. Furthermore, the weapons were designed to be wielded by beings who have tireless mechanical arms rather than biological muscle. Because of that, anyone aside from a Derumic Android would have a very difficult time holding one in their grasp without suffering much fatigue. With that, this technology is highly unlikely to be abused or released upon the galaxy by outsiders to the Derumic Android heirarchy. These war staffs have not seen much combat, if at all (by time of this post), so the most that they have done is act as the badges of office, as well as a means to distinguish individuals, when court is held by the Derumic Androids.
