Dessel's Legacy [PM for Invite]

Some time ago the Holocron of Darth Krayt had been found. The founder of the One Sith. Unknown to most members he was a Jedi before, it was unknown to Acarus too, but with the founding of that great holocron came the whisperings of another holocron in the Inner Rim.

There was limited information about it, who it was created by, but there were several locations as to where it could be located.

Hidden somewhere on the planet of Ambria it was said to be, Acarus’s ship was already on the way.

Once his ship had dropped out of hyperspace it was already heading towards the coordinates of Lake Naath.

The ship landed and out came Malphas.

There was a dark side nexus radiating from Lake Naath, it had been sudden and disconcerting, but that was before he had adjusted and then he began to bask in it’s radiance.

Black cloak shrouding his armoured covered body, the Sith Knight descended from the ramp of the shuttle, and then headed towards Lake Naath.

He thought he saw something wafting up from the surface of the Lake.

Is that the Dark Side? The corruption of the planet? Or simply the filth within.

He wondered while he saw something rise at the surface and then disappear. It was fast moving as well, so the sight of it shocked him greatly. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some beasts in there. The only thing that was on his face was disgust at that point.

Then a heavy reptile like rod crashed into his side.

Something had tickled at the back of his mind, but he had paid it no heed in his disgust and curiosity, because of that he had been blindsided by what seemed like a giant mutant lizard.

Unknown to Acarus, it was actually a mutated Hssiss, something that had been mutated by the natural Dark Side nexus over the lake. It’s scales were probably stronger than they should have been, and it’s speed… Maybe that too had been increased. It’s size was certainly larger, but Malphas had never encountered such a thing, so he had no point of reference.

Finally, he had stopped rolling and when he had he looked up and saw the Hssiss approaching him slowly. He could tell from it’s eyes that it was in pain, but he wasn’t sure how. They were sickly looking certainly, but the Dark Side made you powerful, not sickly.

Didn’t it?

Within a heartbeat his left hand descended towards his lightsaber and with a well practiced maneuver it was in his hand and he was advancing towards the beast.
With the speed and size of the beast in mind, Malphas began to move faster, this time using the Force to the best of his abilities and letting him move faster with what seemed to be his favourite ability: Force Speed.

At that point the Sith Knight was running, closing the distance quickly, and then when the beast swung it’s tail at him at mid height, he leaned backwards and slid on his legs with his back near the ground underneath it, and then rose up while pushing off the floor and ended with a flip.

Through the flip he spun in the air, and when he had completed his first spin he knew where the Hssiss was, and then he threw the lightsaber, guided by the Force of course at the Hssiss’s turning form, and it sheared right through it’s tail, and then it released a defeaning scream.

Something he hadn’t expected.

When he landed he collapsed to a knee and held his head. He still wore his durasteel helmet these days, and he wondered why while the beast screamed.

At that point he realized that this beast was a manifestation of the Dark Side.

Recalling his lightsaber to him, and pointing it upwards, the Hssiss had approached him quickly while he had been in his thoughts and when he had pointed it upwards he ripped through it’s upper mouth and through it’s brain.

Deactivating the lightsaber the Hssiss died.

“You fought better than most Sith.” The first acolyte he thought of was a Zabrak that he had fought in the Sith Academy. He had cut off the lizard’s leg just like how he had cut off one of the Zabrak’s legs off. This time however, he didn’t want to do it, but it was necessary for his survival.

The Sith Pureblood looked down upon the dead beast.

Standing up straight, he looked about Lake Naath before setting his gaze upon his ship once more. Moving towards his ship, he was in the cargo hold quite fast, and then he was upon his speeder and grasping the handle bars as he started it up.

From there, the black clad Sith Knight began to sped across the land as he headed towards the mountains. There was nothing for him back at the ship or Lake Naath, there had been a touching presence, but that was it. Perhaps it had been the Hssiss's mind trying to reach out to him.

He wasn't entirely sure.

The Sith Pureblood pulled out his comlink as he sped across the land and finally began to ascend the mountains. Then he began to contact a Sith Lord, [member="Alicia Drey"]. Her name was Darth Ayra, she was a Bladesmaster if what he heard was true.

Before he had actually set out upon the mission the Sith Lord had been contacted and was meant to be nearby. If he was correct, she'd be outside of Ambria's System and waiting for his confirmation, and then he muttered into his comlink, "follow my position, I'm heading to the Meditation Canyon."

He was taking a shortcut he hoped so that he wouldn't have to ascend the whole of the mountains and then descend on the other side to get to the Meditation Canyon and the caves beneath.

One Sith. She had been a member of the organisation since it's foundation, before their emergence on Coruscant and the subsequent annexation of galactic center. But she was more of a quiet member, doing other things for the cause. Still, Darth Ayra couldn't ignore the call for assistance by another One Sith when it came.

"I will be there."

Piloting her ship to the coordinates given, Ayra disembarked. She wore dark robes that concealed her petite frame. No Armor or anything like that. It was not her style. Waiting at the foot of her ramp, she wanted for Acarus to make contact with her.

His speeder was descending the mountain at that point. There was no hesitation, there was no slowing down, he was practically dive bombing into the Meditation Canyon, and when he had reached the bottom, he was certain that his speeder was going to explode and he would die.

Fortunately he hadn't and he was still on his speeder, although it was quite heated and he turned it off.

He was on a cliff's edge, below was the Meditation Canyon, and he looked over it.

There was mist concealing his vision, he wasn't able to see all the way down but he was certain of there being caves located below.

Unwrapping his cloak from his body, the Sith Knight was only clad in the Vonduun Skerr Draxus armour.

In truth he felt the power of the Dark Side radiating from deep down in the misty void. He was certain there was a holocron at the bottom of the chasm, and whilst clad in the Draxus Armour, it's tentacles would help him guide his fall easier.

All he needed was [member="Alicia Drey"]'s ship to bring him out of there and bring him back.

"Lord Acarus." Ayra lifted her gaze when the speeder arrived and lowered the cowl of her robe when he stepped off. "How can I be of assistance?"

The Sith Knight set his gaze upon [member="Alicia Drey"] and he inclined his head to her.

After neatly placing his cloak on the speeder's seat he turned around to regard her completely.

She had a small frame, but she was certainly muscular and in shape. Most force users who trained to be where they were, were.

"I'll need your starship to carry me out of the abyss once I drop to the bottom and I've retrieved the Holocron. For whatever reason that it is down there it may be broken. This is a Republic World and instead of putting it in one of their Jidai Temples, they may have simply cast it into the abyss below thinking no one will find it."

"The dark side of the force can blind even those aligned to it. Even those Sith who have practiced it for many years." She lowered her gaze to the abyss. "Where is the bomb currently?"

"The Holocron is located at the bottom of the chasm. If you got to your ship now, we could get out of here faster."

Then he inclined his head to her for a moment and then force leapt high into the air. The armour needed quite a bit of wind for it to actually work to the best of it's ability of slowing his descent and letting him practically air glide to the canyon below.

When he was at the pinnacle of his height he started to rotate in the air so that he was feet first, and then he threw his upper body downwards head first, and he was diving straight into the chasm below, and then was hidden by the mist. In the back of his mind, he felt as if the Holocron was signalling to him as if he was tracking it.

The Force Sense that he employed probably helped that fact.

[member="Alicia Drey"]

While he descended to the bottom of the abyss, he did his best to use the Force to slow his descent. It did it's part quite well, as did the suit as he angled himself towards the area where he felt the Holocron was, and then he started to pull his torso upwards so that when he hit the ground he was slowing a run into a jog, and then eventually into a slow walk to lose momentum.

Glancing around, he wondered if [member="Alicia Drey"] had gone back to her ship yet, but even so, he had already begun his search through the cave systems to where he felt was the Holocron.

Then he stopped suddenly and sat down. It was probably best to meditate.

And then the Dark Side of the Force consumed him and his mind focused as he searched for the Holocron. It wasn't a very Sith-like thing to do, but it was needed if he wanted to find what he was looking for.

He came back to his own mind and he stood up. He knew where he was going now.

And he ran.

He leapt over several rocks as they showed up in front of him, and then he stopped when he turned a corner and suddenly it was there.

It was sat on a podium and surrounding it was several rocks. Was it truly that easy? Malphas wasn't sure, but someone most definitely had placed it there. How was he supposed to proce-

Take what is yours.

The voice had suddenly invaded his mind and he stopped, and looked around. When he saw nothing, his gaze was brought back to the holocron and he walked towards it cautiously, expecting it to start talking again. Of course it didn't, and when he grabbed it he felt as if the Holocron was trying to lash out at him and take his mind over mentally.

Unknowingly to the Sith Knight however that Darth Bane so many years ago in his final moments had tried to take control of his apprentice, Darth Zannah's mind, but instead of succeeded she destroyed him with her dark side tendrils. Although Darth Krayt had taken the Holocron as well, and he had been fine, but for some reason, whatever that was. When the Holocron had been returned to Ambria where Darth Bane had been struck down, it had reacted harshly.

But he grasped it anyway and he placed it into his cloak.

Turning around he took his exit from the cave.

The journey had been easier than he'd previously thought.

True to her word, Darth Ayra and her Niathal-class transport were waiting for Acarus as he made his approach. She was at the cockpit, but the ramp was lowered, waiting for him to board. When he did so, she asked. "What did you find?"

[member="Alicia Drey"]

Taking note of the transport that had been waiting for him, the Sith Pureblood walked up the ramp and pressed the button behind him to close it manually. He waited for it to do so before continuing towards the cockpit where Darth Ayra was waiting for him.

"A Holocron."

Not as vague an answer as he was originally intending to give.

Ayra nodded and turn into the Niathal. She busied herself with a pre flight check as Acarus readied himself for take off.
