The Devastator-class derived from the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer but was fitted with new weapons and systems to suit the role of a heavy ship of the line. Very much a mainstay of the new line of ships produced by the Sith Mechanicum for the Eleventh Sith Empire, it follows a doctrine of fleet in being and decisive battle, while supporting independent operations and strikes against enemies from their own starfighter forces.
With reinforced offensive weaponry, increased hangarspace and even increased speed, the Devastator stands at the speartip of Sith Armada operations, even serving as flagship for battlefleets. It is simple and straight forward in design, making it easy to repair and maintain and it supports a large ground complement which makes it a perfect representation of the Sith Empire's ambitions and strengths.
