Development and Such

Mandalore
Though Naast was exiled from Mandalore, he was still a Mandalorian. He was still a part of the faction, just more of an outsider. He just wasn't supposed to set foot on Mandalore. That's exactly where he currently was. He wasn't much for rules anyways.

Naast Vizsla walked through the streets of Keldabe, searching the crowds for the person who could help him. He was currently wearing his armor, which wasn't exactly Beskar'gam. The armor which Naast currently wore was made of Mandalorian Steel and durasteel, not Mandalorian Iron. This was in an attempt for Naast to have armor to wear while he sought out where to purchase the Mandalorian Iron he craved.

Naast had also observed other types of armor throughout the years and has developed an idea for personal shielding which he intends to add to the armor. He would install personal shielding into his armor in order to help advance his protection against blasters and lightsabers.

As he wandered, Naast saw the scar faced mando he had been searching for.

"Ah, Tal! I've been looking for you old friend!"

Tal smiled as he saw Naast. They had been friends since they were young and had continued their friendship, even through Naast's exile. Tal was a Beskar Smith by trade, and was used to working the near indestructible metal. There was a reason it could stop lightsabers. Due to this quality, beskar was highly sought after and beskar smiths were just as sought after.

Being Naast's friend, Tal would offer his services to teach Naast how to work beskar, or at least he would give him a crash course in how to do so. The main objective was to make the armor so that it could be used by Naast soon.

"A bit dangerous coming here, vod, but I'm glad to see you."

Tal then went into the building he was standing by, expecting Naast to follow.

Naast ducked into the building as quickly as he could. He didn't want to be seen walking the streets in Mandalore, who knew how that would end. He was, after all, exiled. He followed his friend and they ended up in a room with whiteboards, sketches everywhere, as well as blueprints scattered about the room. This was obviously where Naast would spill the beans on his ideas for his armor. He has several ideas on how to create an improved version of the armor, from personal shielding to simple plating upgrades. First, he would start with the simple stuff.

"I want to make each plate from beskar. I also want to improve the protection they provide beyond that, I hear there are ways to increase the protection the armor has from kinetic impact."

In fact, Naast had tons of ideas on how to create an improved version of the armor. But Tal knew much more about crafting the armor, so he would be able to provide input on what exactly could be done.

Instantly, Tal was thinking of ways to improve upon Naast's ideas for his armor. He had been doing this from the first moment he came into view. Tal couldn't help it, it's just the way his mind worked. In this case, it was a blessing. He could indeed craft all of the plates in beskar form. There were 9 plates total, so this would take some time. Then, they could be dipped in a thin rubber in order to make them less noisy. Thermal gel could be added to the armor in order to provide extra protection from kinetic impact. This would be helpful in many different scenarios, from slugthrowers to sonic weapons.

Tal told Naast all of this information and he soaked it in, taking Tal's words into his memory for later use.

"Any other ideas you have before we get started?"

Taking the opportunity, Naast spoke up. He wanted to take some pages out of the hyperion book and create powered armor. At least, the idea was to be able to trigger shielding located on the arms when it was necessary. This would be helpful to block anything from blasters to lightsabers and could give the armor a special edge in combat. Also, he wanted to avoid using the jetpack. it was too cumbersome and would need to be replaced by a small power pack anyways.

He would also change his wrist mounted weapons in order to accommodate his fighting style and to help him more in battle.

Suggesting all of these ideas, Naast was worried about overloading Tal with information, but he seemed to enjoy all of the new ideas. He embraced all of them and even suggested some of his own.

Tal agreed with Naast, his suggestions were impressive. Years of combat had shown Naast exactly what he wanted in armor and also showed him what he didn't want. Tal marked all of these design ideas down so that he could keep them in mind when he began forging the plates. He was also going to create the helmet shell, which could be filled with whatever electronics and components Naast desired. In total, Tal was creating 9 armor plates and a helmet, all made from beskar. The armor's aesthetics, electronics and tools would be installed by Naast, who was easily able to install these things in his own armor.

"Last chance on ideas, better tell me if they are going to affect the shape or size of the plates."

As Naast was talking to Tal, he had an image in his mind of what he wanted the armor to look like. Through this conversation, Tal had been entering information into a datapad. Suddenly, a hologram displaying how the armor would look came up in the center of the room. It featured a helmet which was reminiscent of Pre Vizsla's and also had hardpoints built into the outer thighs, back, and chest to attach weapons and gear to.

Looking the armor over, Naast was impressed. He looked the armor up and down, instructing Tal to make several changes. He had Tal add a plate around the neck in order to prevent decapitation, the sad fate of Jango Fett and too many other Mandalorians.

"So, Tal, how does one go about forging beskar into plates? After all, it is nearly indestructible. Any metal that can stop a lightsaber has to be difficult to forge. Especially since no outsider has ever successfully forged Mandalorian Iron."

"The techniques for forging beskar have been guarded for centuries. There is only so much I can tell you before I have to show you. The process is long and difficult, but in the end it will be worth it. Especially when a sith tries to stick you and their glorified glow stick bounces right off!" Tal said with a chuckle.

Tal didn't like force users much more than Naast did, but he specifically hated the sith. They had been the enemies of Mandalorians for years, so sith were hated largely. In fact, most of the galaxy has a distaste for darksiders. But the jedi weren't that much better. All either faction wanted was power. The only one that deserved it would be the Mandalorians, obviously.

"To make beskar strong enough to stop lightsabers correctly, you have to go through a folding process. By folding the iron, you increase its strength. This process is used for many different metals, and is a common one. To make the armor lighter, we add carbon. Otherwise, you'll be a glorified paper weight."

This made complete sense to Naast. Mandalorian Steel was forged in the same way, with extensive folding in order to strengthen the metal. Many other metals were forged in this way, but where were the ancient Mandalorian secrets? Of course, adding carbon would make the metal lighter. But what is the specific reason that beskar is so impervious to lightsabers? How exactly is it forged and how long does this process take? Naast was impatient and also simply wanted answers to the questions that had plagued him, as well as countless other governments and entities that wished to forge beskar for their own purposes.

"Tell me, Tal, why is it that beskar is so tough, so resistant, and so hard to forge? And how exactly will we be going about forging it, given that it is so tough and difficult to work with?"

Naast was used to being the leader, the teacher. But in this moment, he felt like a child. Begging for knowledge from someone with vastly superior knowledge on the subject.

"Beskar's crystalline structure allows it to block lightsabers. We will combine it with various other things in the smelting process in order to amplify its ability to disperse energy from various sources, such as blasters and thermal sources."

Trace amounts of meleenium and ciridium could be added during the process, a technique that was commonly done in the forging of beskar. Also, Tal would borrow aspects of the forging of Mandalorian Steel in his forging of beskar. The innovative metal was made using techniques that could transfer over to the beskar forging process and result in an even stronger metal. An example of this is using flecks of neutronium and zersium in the metal in order to boost its ability to disperse energy.

Tal walked towards a door, the door automatically opening as he pressed a button on his datapad. Inside was a small foundry, where he had made countless armor and weapons of beskar and euk'gar using his power hammer, hydraulic presses and other tools.

"Come in, brother, and let's begin forging your new skin."
