  Each tells the tale about the struggle of man against himself. Man battles with the invisible adversary: his own treacherous, violent nature, both within and in others. Noble aspirations conflict with these destructive tendencies, creating the tumultuous inner turmoil that haunts all. Dignity and peace are the products of rigorous discipline and self-control, repressing these feelings for the greater good.
  
  Society became the product of men banding together to control themselves, to live a certain semblance of peace. Born from the union of individuals striving to harness their inner conflict, the war against sapient nature is a testament to the collective effort to live in a certain semblance of peace. A war most believe to be won. That's society.
  
  But somewhere, society went wrong.
  
  The gnawing struggle within society then became necessary to resurrect a basic fear in the heart of man: that man knows nothing of the unknown and has no control over when he will know more.
  
  Man can never escape it. Man cannot harm it. Nothing harms it. Yet it knows pain—pain most intimately—and it shares that pain with those who have yet to experience the full measure of suffering that inner nature, the monster inside, can inflict.
