PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Dice Thorne values comfort and sensible fashion, opting to wear a simple black jacket, a neon green t-shirt, dark brown cargo pants and a slick pair of black boots that glow bright green around the outlines. The bright neon colors on his torso and feet serve the purpose of concentrating any malicious attention on to him in the heat of battle, so that innocent people won't be targeted. Dice also wears a pair of leather-strapped goggles with green tinted lenses.

When it gets too hot, Dice owns a large black poncho that he wears over a grey jumpsuit. The jumpsuit is made of a very thin and sun-resistant material that stops Dice from overheating.

INVENTORY

GAUNTLETS OF LUVATA - A pair of large flexi-steel mechanical gauntlets, reinforced with Beskar knuckle studs presented to the scion of the Thorne clan - a lineage of consecutive wielders of the gauntlets of Luvata. Vein-like tubes run down the gauntlets in stripes, producing green fluid throughout the design. This is the liquified essence of the two kyber crystals flowing in an ouroboros through the gauntlets forever.

The gauntlets are capable of localizing the force into a powerful punch, pushing anybody hit far away while shattering their body. With overexertion, the kyber essence within the gauntlets will begin to bleed slightly, diluting the essence and leaving Dice Thorne unable to use the gauntlets "force impact" capability until the kyber essence flows green again. This usually takes up to 5 minutes until the green coloration returns. The gauntlets are not inaccessible when the dilution occurs, nor do they negatively impact Dice Thorne directly while he overexerts his abilities. He keeps the stream clean in order to maintain his moral sense of justice - the blood that seeps into the gauntlets while he overexerts himself is from his persistent subjugation of the kyber crystals acting as the catalyst for his abilities. Dice Thorne realizes that if the gauntlets were to turn completely red one day, he had lost his values to protect and rehabilitate.


PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Dice Thorne is a cocky, quipping teenager with all the sensibility of one. He lacks tact and can be arrogant in the heat of combat - choosing to irritate his opponents mid-swing while neglecting personal responsibility. Dice's infuriating attitude in the face of adversity is in reality a mask. He pumps his chest out and gathers all the bad attention in the room just to keep people safe. When Dice sees grief in an enemy's eyes, he will opt to try and appeal to their senses and provide comfort to their tortured soul. Dice is a tortured heart in the end - devastated by a haunting epiphany in his early teen years. The man he was inspired by had left his gauntlets to Dice Thorne while he was young - claiming he would be back one day to take them back. He did not come - and for three long years Dice went looking across the stars for his hero, only to discover a body at the end of a long tunnel.

The man had died to protect him, and from then on, Dice was willing to sacrifice every piece of his body to protect the innocent, inspired by the selfless action of another.

STRENGTHS

  • Dice is unexpectantly cunning when faced with difficult opponents. While "punch and punch again" is his motto for hordes of dopey droids, Dice can concoct genius solutions on the fly if he can't overcome it with brawn.
  • To add to his brains - lifting the heavy Gauntlets of Luvata for years has granted him increased physical strength, being able to lift as much as a competing powerlifter despite his age and frame.

WEAKNESSES

  • In matters of the heart, Dice can act rashly when attempting to save others. He'll risk arm, leg, brain or soul for another person that didn't deserve any torment. This rash thinking also comes with unrelenting stubbornness - being unable to let go when its necessary.

HISTORY

Dice Thorne was your average ratty street kid on Neskar - born to a clan of do-good guardsman that protect the planet's orbital area and surrounding regions from pirates or invading militaries. Despite the planet being known for its battle racing, it was also known for its heavy armaments. A pair of gauntlets were made generations back to be inherited by any force sensitive descendant. The intention was to prime the inheritor to be a "guardsman", although the greater history and context of the title has now been lost to time.

Dice Thorne's father was his one role model, and the guardsman he framed his ideals around. He was a mercenary and proclaimed the title of "guardsman" to everyone he met, even with the little respect or renown it held in the current period. He was always drunk in public, but he was still charming, lively and energetic. He was helpful, he was a guardian... And then he was gone. The large hulk of a man had disappeared from Dice's home, after briefly reaffirming a promise to Dice in the middle of the night. The promise was...

"I'll be back home soon... Okay buddy? Check the attic when I'm gone by the way."

Confusion spread across Dice's face in that moment, and once his father had left, he went up into the attic - which was filled with weapons and unrecognizable technology. The gauntlets laid in their case - the lid slowly opening upon Dice's arrival. As soon as Dice moved a little closer to the gauntlets--
