"Different" Dominion Ideas

skin, bone, and arrogance
One of the beautiful things about the Dominion system here at SWRP is that it doesn't necessarily need to be a combat experience, which means that we can tell any kind of story we like, and as long as the story is feasible and well-told, it will do the job. We were discussing this in the First Order Skype Chat (seriously, if you're not there, you should be, it's where all the cool kids hang out) and kicking around ideas for sort of "different" Dominions. Not grand battles or whatever -- just stories. So, to that end, I'm putting this thread here to further the discussion. Below are some ideas we already discussed -- please feel free to add your own.

The Thing That Happened
Scenario: A neighboring planet/system has suffered a terrible tragedy (undetermined). The First Order springs into action by hosting a telethon to raise funds, and [member="Marzena Choi"] sings a heartfelt song to bring awareness to the tragedy.
Possible Objectives: 1: Telethon 2: Canned food drive 3: Dig through the rubble and pull people out 4: Turn the place into a Star Tours stop, probably.

A Three Hour Tour
Scenario: Some of the First Order are on a pleasure cruise when their starship crash-lands in a secluded part of a foreign planet. Can they band together to survive the threats of the elements, outsiders, and the inevitable Lord of the Flies stuff until they're rescued?
Possible Objectives: 1: Collect food and water 2: Build shelter 3: Be on the search-and-rescue team 4: Usurp authority over the tribe and institute grotesque rituals.

Cluedo
Scenario: Some of the First Order have been invited on a diplomatic mission to the leader of a foreign planet, with hopes of getting him to agree to join our ranks. But after dinner he ends up dead, and the six invited guests -- each bearing a color-related pseudonym -- must solve the mystery of who killed him, and wear, and with what?
Possible Objectives: Solve the murder!

Every time I asked someone about an FO chat they told me it was dead...

Interesting objectives.

[member="Valessia Brentioch"] it is dead sometimes but that's no reason not to have you in it.

[member="Aram Kalast"] I thought you didn't use Skype! Send me your Skype name ans I will add you.

Dunames Lopez

Megalomaniac CEO of Star Tours
The first dominion idea as far as I'm concerned. I'm still 35 posts short of reaching the 100-post count for Star Tours' Tier 3-> 4 project. (Lanteeb Grand Prix, 42 posts, and the Anoat hex dominion, 23 posts that count towards the project) A telethon is part of the First Order's bread-and-circuses.

As for the second idea, objective #3 for me (if you don't mind an AT-AT barge being used to either ferry SAR equipment or as SAR equipment)...

Cluedo? That's probably be more for those Ubiqtorate or KoR to do than for me.

The idea of KoR and leading figures of FO military on a canned food drive is enough to get my support but I do love all of these ideas.

Rough concept I've been thinking of is on a similar line to the last idea.
Scenario: A First Order operative is on trial for a crime they didn't commit (no really!) in a nearby system known for disliking us. The local media is calling to boycott us and the local law is happy to let our poor agent take the fall for the crimes of another.
Possible objectives: 1) prove agent's innocence 2) catch true criminal 3) expose corrupt law enforcement 4) Sway media and public opinion in our favour

I've always loved playing with colony creation. Set up the site, master the environment, establish defenses, fend off local creatures of dubious sentience, toss in a corporate opportunity angle, bam: 100 posts.

"It's all been bloody marvellous..."
Alright, it's a bit of a longshot. But some kind of musical.

I know it sounds a bit cheesy, and it is. But say we organise ourselves into groups, which would act as objectives, and collectively, each group writes up a performance of some kind of song.

For example, the lads in the navy like myself, fighting space pirates while singing sea shanties.
