Digging A Deeper Grave

Location: Leaving Walalla, on board The Resurrection
Time: 0700 Hrs, GST
Missions to the deep core were fairly often for the Count. In attempts to improve relations with the Inner Rim planets he often utilized his company's shipping frigates for trade. This particular trip had been rather uneventful for the Count. After being elected Archlord the first duty that he undertook, after announcing the reformation of The Dominion, was a massive expansion of their planet's defensive fleets.

His quarters on the ship were filled to the brim with papers and datapads. All of them holding information on the different ships that would be fitting of the new fleet.

"Thousands of ships and none of them will give us what we need." He said, setting a stack of papers back on the desk in front of him.

Adron stood up, knocking a book from the corner of the desk as he did. With a slight exhale he bent down, recovering the book from it's place on the ground. Taking the book into his hands he read over the cover. "Zakuulian ships?" He muttered, opening the book to look over the ships listed in the book.

"Mass fleets, mechanical crews, effective but not what we-." His words trailed off as the page landed on a new ship, this one was small, fast, and equipped with weaponry that, even now, would prove useful. "The Gravestone..."

Folding the corner of the page Adron made his way out of his quarters, tapping the comm device that was attached to his ear. "Everyone meet me in the deck officer's conference room." He called out to the team he had assembled to help him with the transfer of supplies to Walalla.

It was not long until he had passed through the bridge and arrived in the conference room. Taking a seat he continued to read over the passages on The Gravestone.

Another solider went down quick groaning as anya stood a few paces away bouncing before coming to a stop and offering her hand to the soldier helping him up. Around her a few grumbles of those who lost bets giving up their credits as anya took a seat taking a drink of water as she stretched. She had grown stronger in her skills as well as the force in her time with the dominion. She listened in her ear as she heard the only person she swore was a gift from the heavens and stood speaking in the comm piece

copy that adron, on my way

She said and called our she'd see the guards later for another round, she quickly left and showered before getting out drying and dressed on her armor. She moved briskly to the conference room and looked at adron before setting by him

sounds like you've got something good to tell us can't wait to hear

She gave a glance before she kissed his cheek quickly then returned normal like nothing happened

Lucien watched as a few peacekeepers fired down a small range with their rifles. He and a small company of troops had been designated defense of The Resurrection during its voyage to Walalla. An opportunity that Lucien gladly took. It would be a cakewalk compared to some of the other missions he had been assigned recently and decided to make the most of the time he had by resting. Lucien sat atop a crate of ammunition as the men finished their training and left for chow. They were the last ones to run the simulation and Lucien would finally have some time to himself.

He placed a hand to his chest bandolier and withdrew a cigar. He bit off the tip and then spit it out. He stuck the smoke in his mouth and lit the other end. He inhaled deeply from the cigar and it burned brightly in response. Lucien let out a soft sigh and a small puff of smoke. He grabbed the rifle slung around his back and began to disassemble it. He was about mid way through when he got called to the conference room. With a sour look on his face Lucien spit out the rest of the cigar and threw his rifle back over his shoulder. He walked through metallic halls and the odd technician greeted him with a salute. Lucien arrived in the room and saluted Adron smartly.

“Archlord, you called?” He asked, hands behind his back.

Then you add a little extra wiring here... Xandari was bent over the rudimentary sketch, absolutely immersed in the prospect of a potential new project. The sketch itself was riddled with notes and the like, with no room left to add on. The call to the conference room had her cursing her luck - just when she thought she was making progress. Ah well, duty calls. Storing the project away, she gathered whatever things she assumed would be needed for this mission. What exactly they were doing and why she was even on it, she hadn't a clue, but questioning things hadn't exactly done her any favors before.

Slipping into the room behind Lucien, she copied his salute. That was the appropriate greeting, right? Guess it wouldn't hurt to do it regardless. Following the general's lead in general just seemed like a good idea. "What's this mission for, uh, sir?" She asked, cutting right to the chase. Speaking out of turn or not, she wanted to get right to it.

His eyes still buried in the book before him he had not particularly noticed Anya until she spoke up. He felt a soft kiss on his cheek which brought his mind from the book. "Huh? Oh sorry. Yes, I think I found a new asset for our Republic." He did not expand on the matter anymore, prefering to wait until the others arrived.

Lucien, the second to arrive, offered a salute which the Archlord returned with a respectful nod. "No need for all of that Lucien, please take a seat." He gestured to a nearby chair as Adron set his book down on the table. When Xandari entered in the same fashion as Lucien Adron merely repeated the process of a kind nod and asking her to sit.

"There are a lot of things that need to be done before we can finalize ourselves as a Republic. Now that being said we have a very strong and diverse military while our fleet's are....well for lack of a better word they are in shambles. The mess on Ession left some of our best ships off of the line for the new few months. Not only that but we're growing larger than our fleet's can police. Bottom line is we need more ships and we need ships that can win wars."

Adron slid the book over to Lucien. "Do you know anything about The Eternal Empire of Zakuul General?"

"It's not the most popular Empire through out Galactic history but it is one of the most impressive. Anyway they had one of the largest fleet's in the history of the galaxy. They were double the size of any conventional fleet to date, but that isn't what is impressive. Read up on the ship on that page."

He paused a moment before continuing. "The Gravestone was known to be able to hold off entire Fleet's for a time, even Zakuul's eternal fleet which harbored thousands of ships."

Standing from his chair the Count crossed his arms as he gestured to it. "It had a weapon that could transfer the flow of it's attack, spreading from ship to ship, like a virus. It hasn't been seen in the galaxy in thousands of years and is most likely a garbage heap."

"General, I want that ship." Adron said in finality.

She raised a eye brow as she gave a smile, certainly now she was interested in what he had to say, she watched two more enter and could feel the force in them but howecer noticed they were droids, truely this was something she hadn't seen before but howecer smiled and nodded

She listened as he went on to explain this eternal empire and it's massive fleet, she nodded then at the mention of this gravestone she was curious for sure, she leaned to read the page whole listening and looked up...this ship was beyond...beyond what she had even heard of before

She glanced to the general then to adron...this ship even she knew wpuld complete the fleet

Lucien stood at ease when the archlord gave him a simple nod and asked him to sit. Lucien did as he was told and removed his helmet. He struggled to find a seat in the mess of cluttered paperwork and books, so opted to stand instead. As Adron spoke Lucien nodded along. The count asked if Lucien had ever heard of the Eternal Empire, but the general was an uneducated man. He had only learned to read in his early twenties. But, he nodded along as if he knew what Adron was talking about anyways. Lucien’s attention wasn’t truly captured until the count began speaking about a weapon of unparalleled proportions.

Lucien leaned over the Count’s desk and stared intently at the book before him. It was old and musty, but Lucien could still make out a picture of a hammerhead like vessel. He skimmed the words and found that the weapon aboard this ship was capable of smashing entire fleets.

“By the force…” He whispered then spoke more loudly “Count if we capture this weapon their would be no one who could stand in our path, but where could we find such a thing?” Lucien asked excitedly.

The reactions Adron received from his associates was just the one he was hoping to get. Yet he still found himself at a loss on how to actually find the ship itself. "The Gravestone is more legend than ship. But we know the Eternal Empire of Zakuul was held at bay by a single vessel so it would have to be this ship....." He gestured to the book.

"I think we should take a trip to Zakuul." He finally said, rising as he took the book back into his hands.

"It stands that the ship would be there, all we have to do is find it, and take it. If nothing else perhaps we can find the design for the ship and create our own." He said, bracing his arms on the back of his chair. "How many soldiers do we have aboard? About forty right? That plus our fighter escort is enough for us to make a trip into the inner rim."

With a smile coming to his lips he gestured to the group. "Lucien, prepare your men, just in case. Anya, I want you to gather anything you can find about Zakuul from my books in my office."

Placing his hands behind his back he looked to the group before exhaling softly. "Listen....We need that ship. We'll be taking it one way or another. But there will be no casualties and this must be an undercover operation. Hopefully we can find and take the ship from the planet without alerting the native population."

Adron turned out of the room, making his way to the bridge of the ship. "Let's get to work."

In short order The Resurrection's course was turned from it's course to Serenno to a new destination, Zakuul.

She sat down as she rubbed her head, truely this was something they needed that would change the tide of this war

At the mention of her she stood and gave a smile, looks like lots of research was to be done and anya would see it completed. She saluted and nodded as she gave a smile thinking for a moment before she nodded

of course my Lord, I shall get to researching what I can on the zakuul

She said and quickly went to the office of adron and was immediately to work
