Birth Of the Heron
Dino Jorah, a phantom of the outer rim. He travels from sector to sector of undiscovered space to uncover its deepest secrets. Something from the force reached out to him from the day of his birth, he believes it is calling out to him, and he also believes it deserves an answer. From a young age, Dino's parents had always told him not to meddle in the force, that the force was a weapon, something that evil generals would use to pursue their heinous agendas. But Dino was young and didn't understand. His family was simple, they farmed for their food and kept secluded from the rest of most major civilizations. For the first 19 years of his life, Dino was sheltered, but curious.
Then, when the peak of their simplicity seemed near, terror was looming. Dino had left his home to go hunting for game, and when he returned, his home was burning in a scorching and encompassing flame, which illuminated his face. To this day, Dino still doesn't understand why what happened, happened. He viewed his parents as close to a saint as one can get, and believed that they had no contact with the outside, yet this seemed unbelievable to him. With this event, the reality dawned on Dino that the home life he once knew, was no more. And again, he heard something calling. Something warm in his head encouraging him with simple words, Pursue Peace. What could this mean? Who's speaking to him? Dino didn't understand, and his whole life was changing in front of him. As he took his time to mourn his family and old home, he got ready to move on, and find this voice. He wanted nothing more, and would settle for nothing less.
Dino is heavily interested in one thing: Artifacts, specifically, artifacts pertaining to the force and ancient empires. He's amassed quite the collection, but none have satisfied his goal of peace in the galaxy. Dino believes that the ruins of the past can give hints and answers to the future, that mistakes of the galaxies forefathers will result in patching the mistakes of the present. He scours the edges of the outer rim, speaking with a silver tongue. When Dino wasn't busy searching for or tinkering with relics, he was practicing his shot with a blaster and conditioning. Dino constantly avoided traps and hunters after his wares and has to stay on top of his physical abilities. Dino funded his obsession with hunting artifacts to the highest bidder. Needed an ancient ritual sword from some ridiculous outer rim planet? Dino was the man for you. Did you want some hidden piece of technology from a dangerous, enemy territory? Dino could get it done. He eventually garnered the reputation as Dino, the Black Heron through the far reaches of the galaxy.
Dino has his upsides, he's potent in a battle situation, and comes equipped with a snakes tongue to speak his way out of most situations, but Dinos greatest flaw is that he follows the voice in his head with the utmost loyalty. Working with others has never been his strong suit, and rumors float that he's gone mad and begun speaking to droids aboard his ship. Sometimes, in even crucial situations, Dino will go against original plans if the voice makes him act differently. Dino terrifies even the worst criminal scum, as his carnivorous personality and selfish goals seem off-putting when contrasted with his seemingly charismatic outward self. Some believe that Dino speaks what the voice wants people to hear, nothing more, and nothing less. The only group that Dino seems to align himself with is the Outer Planets Alliance, but nobodies sure how deep his ties to that group run.
