OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Army Name: The Dire Wolves Ground Corps
  • Classification: Mercenary Force/Expeditionary Unit
  • Affiliation: The Dire Wolves Mercenary Company
  • Army Symbol: See above
  • Description: The Dire Wolves Ground Corps is an extremely professional, highly elite company of mercenaries trained by Sergei himself. This unit is designed so that from the ground up each individual soldier is trained to be a master of a core set of tasks and drills that are key to being a proper soldier. And once that core set of tasks is trained, each soldier can form small buddy teams, fire teams, squads, or platoons to exponentially increase the lethality of the individual soldiers. This is achieved with operational specialties, to include Designated Marksman, Automatic Rifleman, Anti-Tank Specialist, Squad Leaders, Comms Specialist, Medics, Grenadiers/Demo and Ammo Bearers/Riflemen. These specialties inside a squad give the squad level, or even the fire team level elements, the ability to flex into hyper lethal formations allowing each specialty to rear its head in combat and utterly annihilate whatever enemy they face.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: TDWSF-1 Aegis
  • Goals: To be the absolute best fighting force available, and to destroy the enemy in close quarters combat regardless of the surrounding terrain, or location.
  • Reputation: This unit, and its creator, has a extremely strong reputation of being utterly ruthless when it comes to infantry combat. Surrendering in TDW is never authorized, and if a battle is being lost, they will fight to the death unless ordered to do a tactical withdrawal. They are discriminatory when it comes to selecting contracts, as they consider themselves professionals and so have standards. These standards are that their employer must in all cases abide by the Laws of War, in that they are used only to protect Civilian targets and/or assets, protect military assets, and engage only military and/or criminal organization assets. They will also refuse contracts from employers that have in the past used tactics such as: using sapient shields (denying tactical/military targets by using the threat of civilian casualties), utilize slavery as a justifiable work source, associates with known criminal organizations that have dealings with sapient trafficking (possibly can be waived but is on a case by case basis), is okay with using excessive force to exterminate a foe regardless of civilians present, uses surrendering soldiers and civilians as suicide bombers, and taking advantage of medical vessels lack of armaments and protected statuses to use them as weapons or targets. If it is revealed that the employer in question has lied to TDW on a contract to achieve a working relationship with the company, the contract and all subsequent contact will be terminated, and persons responsible will be blacklisted. However if someone utilizes TDW in clear violation of their stated standards and ethics, as in attacking civilian targets with no military value, congratulations, you are now officially their priority to not only hunt down, but exterminate with extreme prejudice. You can run, you can hide, you can beg, you can even fight, it doesn't change that you can bleed. And if you can bleed, they can kill you.

MEMBERS
Sergei "Jack" Jachovich - Current Dire Wolf - 1st Platoon Leader
Ryan Alphonse - Technical Engineer and leader of R&D

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Sergei initially began thinking of starting his own mercenary company when a job he took solo as running security for a transportation firm went bad and left him nearly dead due to the literal amount of pirates that overwhelmed him on the job. It was here that Sergei remembered his instructors teachings that a Soldier while strong alone, was exponentially more powerful with allies to his left and right, especially so when they were men and women he could trust with his life. And so Sergei set out to do exactly that, hunting down the best the galaxy had to offer from various militaries around. He had very simple rules, no war crimes and no one quits.

His training regimen was one to weed out those either not strong enough or not determined enough to maintain the course of what Sergei wanted to create, which was the Galaxy's premier fighting force that could fight anywhere, at any time, against any odds. He started with a small team and their first true test being a shipping run along a known pirate route, where Sergei encountered Aiden Wolf, a tortured and brainwashed child soldier essentially enslaved to pirates. After defeating the pirates in question and capturing the boy, Sergei saw another avenue for his mercenary company. To give those that hadn't a chance at living for themselves just that, a second chance at life. And so Sergei made the decision that those who surrendered were to be treated humanely, and given a chance to lay down their arms and accept society's judgement or live on a remote world in peace. Sergei's team would see their next test on Atrisia, and while the mission was a success, the losses incurred would force Sergei to expand his training program and find a larger vessel to accommodate a larger unit.

From there Sergei has increased this unit from the size of a single 5 man team to a full company of 120 combat ready Commandos that are ready to charge into battle for each other, and if necessary lay their lives on the line for the success of the mission. There is no surrender, the is no option to lose. The Dire Wolves aim is to show the rest of the galaxy what a proper fighting force looks like, from their courage and valor in battle, to the way they conduct themselves on and off the field. The hope to be the shining beacon of hope for all in the darkness and chaos of war surrounding the galaxy, show casing what real soldiers look like, and giving everyone the chance to see what their lives could be like if The Dire Wolves Mercenary Company became the standard for soldier conduct, instead of the exception. Such is their hope, and they will fight tooth and nail to see such hope realized.

The Monster The Monster

A great elaboration on your mercenary company overall. I just have a few suggestions intended to clarify a few things for the reader.

1. Clarification
Reputation: This unit, and its creator, has a extremely strong reputation of being utterly ruthless when it comes to infantry combat. Surrendering in TDW is never authorized, and if a battle is being lost, they will fight to the death unless ordered to do a tactical withdrawal. They are known to once be hired will not without extremely good reason break contracts with their employer at the time being. A case of this would be if the employer were revealed to have been having TDW guard a slaver camp, or having them attack civilian targets where the objective is to cause damage and destruction to civilian infrastructure with no real military value. If this happens, TDW will immediately turn on their employers and make it their number 1 objective to hunt down, and kill whomever is responsible.

The highlighted sentence is a little awkward with the sentence structured as is. I'd recommend something to the effect of "They are also known for being discriminating. Once hired, they will not break contracts with their employer without reason. A case of this would be..." (or words to that effect). That breaks it up, but I think clarifies the concepts that I believe you're going for.

Weapon Loadouts:
  • Rifleman: 1 Jackal ACR 500 rounds for weapon system unless directed to take Full combat load which is 1000 rounds, 20 grenade canisters for secondary mode of fire, Extra Ammunition for either Automatic Rifleman, or Anti-Tank Specialists, 8 Grenades (2 Frags, 2 Thermal Detonators, 2 Ion grenades, 2 Flashbangs), 1 Enhanced Battlefield First Aid Kit, Gen 1 Commando Armor.
  • Comms Specialists: See Rifleman, add in ground to space comms backpack attachment, datalink for terminals and other ground based computers to access necessary functions to perform repairs, and small repair kit for making battlefield repairs to computers or allow slicing into hostile systems for battlefield access. Subtract extra ammunition for Squad heavy Weapons.
  • Automatic Rifleman: One of the following primary weapon systems, BAW-63, BAW-77, or TDW M-240 (Currently in dev), with 2000 rounds at least for primary weapon systems, double for Weapons Squad Personnel, 6 Grenades (Rifleman set - flashbangs), 1 Enhanced Battlefield First Aid Kit, Gen 1 Commando Armor.

There are a lot of referenced submissions, which I see you have permissions for, but it would be helpful to have them linked so that its clear to the reader what it is that you are referencing. Not the generic grenades, but the specific named weapons, such as: Jackal ACR, BAW-63, Jackal Sniper Rifle, etc.

Those are my thoughts. I look forward to yours in reply. Please tag me once you have completed any edits.

Zak Dymo Hello and thank you for the review! Here's the list of changes:

  • I rewrote the reputation section that you mentioned as follows clears throat
They are discriminatory when it comes to selecting contracts, as they consider themselves professionals and so have standards. These standards are that their employer must in all cases abide by the Laws of War, in that they are used only to protect Civilian targets and/or assets, protect military assets, and engage only military and/or criminal organization assets.
    I hope this is satisfactory!
  • So originally I was confused as to what you meant but I think I figured it out. I have posted links to various weapons systems on the board for ease of reading and to allow quick referencing!
Thank you so much again and I hope you have a wonderful day!
