- Classification: Black Ops
- Description: Swift and precise. Directorate Commandos are deployed behind enemy lines and often to worlds where the Directorate has no active presence. Usually deployed in squads of four, commando squads are high specialized to fight in nearly every environment imaginable. The commandos are only deployed for missions of exceeding difficulty or that are critical to military operations.
- Unit Size: Small
- Unit Availability: Rare
- Unit Experience: Elite
- Equipment: DLT-19, E-11, E-11 Sniper, E-22, Detonation Pack
- Combat Function: Commandos are trained to operate in a single squad with minimal or no support from Directorate command. While they typically attempt to avoid open engagements to maintain stealth, commandos will engage the enemy at distance and attempt to shift positions multiple times to make it appear as if they are a larger force then just a single squad. Each commando is an excellent shot with whatever weapon they choose to bring into battle.
- Combat Veterans: Commandos are taken from the best of the best of Directorate troopers and are given additional training. Commandos have faced many trials and fought on many battlefields, they have faced a myriad of foes and as a result have become some of the most efficient and deadly soldiers in the galaxy.
- Calm: Even in stressful combat situations, commandos remain calm and do not panic or break from orders. This ensures blaster accuracy and high moral among commando squads.
- Stealth Obsession: Commando units will attempt to remain undetected as long as possible, preventing them from properly being able to handle large groups of enemies. This means commando units are easily overwhelmed by superior numbers if they are detected.
- Survival Protocol: Directorate Commando units take years to fully train. This means, above all else, commandos prime order is to stay alive and return as a full squad. Entire military operations may be jeopardized if a commando unit is under threat of being completely wiped out.
Not to long after the formation of the Directorate, the Board of Directors quickly realized they would have need of a military unit that could carry out operations covertly and without support from military high command. The backbone of the Commandos is made up of Army Troopers who have proven themselves to be far above the norm for the Army and this continues to be the case. Now, both Navy and Army command may call upon a squad of commandos to carry out operations that are critical to the defense or expansion of the Directorate. Directorate Commandos can deploy to nearly any world in the galaxy and do not fear any foe, or at least that is what high command wants the average rank and file of the Directorate Army to believe.
