Weaknesses: He has serious issues with emotionally connecting to people and empathy. It makes it incredibly difficult for him to really build any meaningful relationship. He's also rather workaholic, and has very little life outside his job. Heavy drinker. Not always a follower of rules or regulations if he deems it necessary for them to be broken.
Strengths: He's relentless. When he pursues a wanted criminal, he will not stop. Even if they leave Republic space, he might still pursue them if their crimes are heinous enough. He's good with pistols and carbines, great investigator, and has more than a few underground contacts. Good intimidator.

Yes, he has a Redstar class patrol ship (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/9233-redstar-class-patrol-ship/) (Assuming it is permissible to use it, being part of the Republic faction and a Ranger, though nott Antarian). It's been slightly modified to work better for police work by adding two detention cells, and painted with the Sector Ranger insignia. All other aspects are the same.
BIOGRAPHY:
His parents were immigrants to Coruscant. On the voyage there, their vessel was attacked by pirates/slavers while still in the Outer Rim. He was about three years old. His parents were killed, and he was taken prisoner and enslaved. He was raised as a slave by fellow prisoners, an old woman, and a captured spacer. They instilled in him a strong sense of honor and a drive to protect those weaker than himself. A Republic Naval squadron eventually found the base and smashed the pirates, and rescued the prisoners. Dirk, at 16, was sent to an orphanage, but hated it and its impersonal, rigid hierarchical style. He joined the Sector Rangers at 18, and performed diligently and excellently over the course of his career, eventually specializing in organized crime, mainly piracy and slavers, and some occasional smuggling rings. He has recently been promoted to Special Enforcement Officer and is looking to form a crew of other Rangers.
Appearance:
He typically wears black combat-style boots, gray cargo pants, a white long-sleeved shirt with a blue and silver blast vest atop that. Above that, he wears a thick, padded, high-collared spacer's jacket. His face is weather-beaten and worn, and his hair neatly combed to the side. Basically the pictures.
